Wild night in the Association. Two buzzer beaters, three overtime games, and a handful of dogs barking loud. Bettors had to navigate blown leads, fourth-quarter fades, and massive individual efforts. The Magic survived a collapse, SGA carried OKC, and Denver proved again it doesn’t need Jokic to close. A lot of variance, but also plenty to learn.

Top Takeaways
- Magic barely escape after blowing 18-point lead. Banchero’s OT buzzer-beater saved them after getting outscored 29-14 in the fourth. Ugly, but a win.
- SGA dominates, Holmgren cleans up late. OKC needed every bit of SGA’s 46, but Holmgren’s putback and clutch rebounding sealed the OT win.
- Denver continues to win without Jokic. Watson’s heater continued and Murray’s playmaking torched Boston late. Nuggets have won 3 of 5 without their MVP.
- Raptors and Blazers cash buzzer beaters. Quickley hit the dagger for Toronto, while Avdija’s big night carried Portland—Houston came up milliseconds short.
- Philly’s big 3 finally click. Embiid, Maxey, and George all cleared 20+, leading a 16-0 run that buried Washington.
- San Antonio outworked the Lakers. Wemby off the bench again, but it was the Spurs’ depth and energy that overwhelmed LA—even with Doncic’s triple-double.
NBA Game Recaps
Magic vs Nets Recap: Magic win 104-103
Orlando somehow held on in Brooklyn despite coughing up an 18-point lead and scoring just 14 in the fourth. Paolo Banchero saved the day with a buzzer-beating 3 off an inbounds pass in OT. He posted 30 and 14 in a high-usage role.
The Nets rallied late in regulation and again in overtime behind Michael Porter Jr. (34 points) and Egor Demin, who hit a deep 3 with 5.3 seconds left. But Banchero’s bank shot flipped the result again, ending a wild finish.
Thunder vs Jazz Recap: Thunder win 129-125 (OT)
SGA lit up Utah for 46 points and forced overtime with a clutch regulation bucket. Holmgren finished with 23 and 12.
In OT, Holmgren cleaned up SGA’s miss with a dunk, then SGA iced it with two FTs after grabbing a key rebound. Jazz had solid showings from Markkanen (29) and Keyonte George (25), but couldn’t close.
Nuggets vs Celtics Recap: Nuggets win 114-110
Denver picked up its league-best 15th road win behind Peyton Watson’s 30 (6-of-7 from deep) and Jamal Murray’s 22 points, 8 boards, and 17 dimes.
Watson drilled a big 3 late to stretch Denver’s lead to double digits. Even without Jokic (5th straight DNP), the Nuggets executed better in crunch time. Jaylen Brown dropped 33 but had 7 turnovers, and Queta’s 20 boards weren’t enough.
Trail Blazers vs Rockets Recap: Trail Blazers win 103-102
Deni Avdija exploded for 41 points and Portland held off Houston in a finish that needed a review.
Kevin Durant missed with under a second left, and Eason tipped it in—but the buzzer beat him by a hair. Durant had 37 and Amen Thompson added 24, but the Rockets’ 6-1 run ended on a technicality.
Hawks vs Pelicans Recap: Hawks win 117-100
Zaccharie Risacher torched New Orleans for 25 points on seven triples. The Hawks snapped their 2-game slide.
Trae Young sat (quad), and rumors swirled mid-game that he’d been traded. Still, the Hawks leaned on bench depth like Gueye (plus-27) to bury the Pelicans, who are now on another nine-game skid.
Knicks vs Clippers Recap: Knicks win 123-111
New York snapped a four-game losing streak with a dominant second-half stretch led by Karl-Anthony Towns (20/11/7).
The 30-13 run across the third and fourth flipped the game. Brunson added 26. LA got strong outings from Zubac and Harden, but couldn’t match the Knicks’ execution late.
Raptors vs Hornets Recap: Raptors win 97-96
Immanuel Quickley’s 3-pointer at the horn lifted Toronto over Charlotte.
LaMelo had given the Hornets the lead with 1.6 seconds left. Quickley finished 3-for-11 from deep but hit the one that mattered most. RJ Barrett led the way with 28.
Pistons vs Bulls Recap: Pistons win 108-93
Isaiah Stewart dropped a career-best 31 points on 14-of-17 shooting and led Detroit to its third straight win.
The Pistons’ offense flowed freely as five players hit double figures. Chicago got 24 from Dosunmu and 20 each from Vucevic and Buzelis, but couldn’t mount a real push.
76ers vs Wizards Recap: 76ers win 131-110
Philly’s core three all went 20+ in an easy win over Washington. Embiid (28), George (23), and Maxey (22) led a 16-0 run across the third and fourth.
VJ Edgecombe added a stuffed stat line, and the Sixers had seven in double figures. The Wizards were short-handed, missing CJ McCollum and Kyshawn George.
Suns vs Grizzlies Recap: Suns win 117-98
Dillon Brooks scored 21 and Grayson Allen added 19 off the bench as Phoenix snapped a six-game losing streak to Memphis.
The Grizzlies were on a back-to-back and looked a step slow. Phoenix jumped out early and never looked back, finally beating Memphis after losing the first meeting and all four last season.
Spurs vs Lakers Recap: Spurs win 107-91
Keldon Johnson scored 27 and San Antonio overpowered LA despite another triple-double from Luka Doncic.
Wembanyama came off the bench again but still made a big impact. Spurs spread the scoring around and punished the Lakers’ lack of depth with LeBron out.
Warriors vs Bucks Recap: Warriors win 120-113
Steph Curry (31) and De’Anthony Melton (season-high 22) led Golden State past Milwaukee to open a homestand.
Melton hit 5-of-9 from three and sparked the bench. Giannis had 34-10, but the Bucks couldn’t flip the script in the fourth. Warriors controlled pace late.
