Austin FC acquired defender Guilherme Biro from Brazil’s Mirassol Futebol Clube on Tuesday.
The 23-year-old Brazilian arrives on a three-year contract that includes an option for 2027.
“I’m excited to join Austin FC and to compete in MLS as the next step in my career,” Biro said in a news release.
Biro will occupy an international roster slot with Austin. Terms of the transfer were not disclosed.
Austin also completed the transfer of defender Jhohan Romana to Argentina’s San Lorenzo on Tuesday. Again, terms were not disclosed.
The 25-year-old Colombian appeared in 35 matches (22 starts) from 2021-22. He spent 2023 on loan at Paraguay’s Club Olimpia.
