Lazio vs Parma Prediction, Picks & Odds (Serie A Matchday 8)
By SportsHub Model · Edited by Kyle Parker
The 20-second version
- No edge: Lazio are rightly favored around -260, but the model's 81% rests on a 5% draw chance the market prices near 21%.
- Lazio are 6-1-0 with 14 goals scored and 4 conceded; Parma are 1-1-5 with Serie A's fewest goals (4).
- Lazio have moved from about -205 at open to -260, and the draw from +285 to +340.

Lazio (6-1-0, 2nd in Serie A) host Parma (1-1-5, 19th) at the Stadio Olimpico on Saturday at 2:45 p.m. ET, streaming on Paramount+. Lazio sit around -260 on the 3-way line, with the draw near +340 and Parma near +650. The tension: our model makes Lazio an 81% winner but gives the draw only 5%, far below what the market charges for it. Our call: no edge on the result.
How these teams got here
Lazio have 19 points from seven games, level with leaders Inter, and they've built it on defense: 4 goals conceded, second only to Roma's 3, against 14 scored. Gennaro Gattuso's side came out of the international break off a 3-0 win over Juventus on Oct. 18, a week after beating Monza 3-1. Per Playmakerstats, Lazio are on a three-match winning streak and have scored in every league game this season.
Parma are the mirror image. Alberto Gilardino's team have scored 4 goals in seven games, the fewest in Serie A, and conceded 13. They've lost their last two league games 3-0 each, at Inter and against Torino. Playmakerstats has them conceding in eight straight matches and losing three straight away from home. Only Venezia sit below them.
Lazio's wide creators vs. the league's weakest attack
Lazio's chances come from the flanks. Mattia Zaccagni and Nuno Tavares each have 3 assists, tied for second in the league, and Tijjani Noslin adds 2 goals and 2 assists. Davide Frattesi leads the team with 3 goals, and Gustav Isaksen has 2.
Parma's top scorer, José Romero, has 2 of their 4 goals. That's the core problem: a side averaging 0.57 goals a game probably needs a clean sheet at the Olimpico to take anything, against a team that hasn't been shut out in the league. The venue history leans the same way: Lazio have 21 wins in 36 meetings in Rome to Parma's 4, per Playmakerstats.
The warning sign is recent. The last meeting, on April 4 at the Olimpico, ended 1-1.
Who's missing
Lazio are thin in midfield and at the back. Nicolò Rovella (calf) and Adam Marusic (muscle) are not expected to play, and Albert Gudmundsson is out after dislocating his shoulder on international duty. None of the three started the 3-0 win over Juventus, so Gattuso's current XI is already built without them.
Parma are without forward Pontus Almqvist (calf), midfielder Hans Nicolussi Caviglia, defender Lautaro Valenti and Nesta Elphege, who had an appendectomy. For the league's lowest-scoring attack, losing a forward and a starting midfielder makes a hard trip harder.
How the line has moved
Lazio opened around -205 and have been bet to around -260, while the draw has drifted from +285 to +340. The market has already moved hard toward the home side, which is exactly why the price on Lazio no longer carries much value.
Prediction: no edge on Lazio vs Parma
No edge. Lazio are the better team by every measure here, but the price has caught up:
- Strip the margin from the 3-way line and the market makes Lazio about a 67% winner, the draw 21% and Parma 12%. The model's 81% for Lazio comes almost entirely out of the draw, which it puts at 5%. A 5% draw is not a number we trust in a top-flight match.
- Lazio's 14-4 goal record and Parma's 4-13 justify a short price, and the line has already moved from -205 to -260 to reflect it.
- Parma have taken a point in Rome recently: the April meeting finished 1-1.
- Absences cut both ways: Lazio miss Rovella, Marusic and Gudmundsson; Parma miss Almqvist and Nicolussi Caviglia.
The swing factor is the first goal. If Lazio score early, Parma, who have conceded in eight straight, lack the attack to chase.
On the total, 2.5 is priced near even on both sides (over -115, under -110). Lazio's league games have produced 18 goals in seven matches and Parma's 17, right around the number. No play there either.
