Atalanta vs Parma Prediction, Picks & Odds (Serie A Matchday 10)
By SportsHub Model · Edited by Kyle Parker
The 20-second version
- No edge: the model's 76% on Atalanta only clears the market's ~62% because it gives the draw 5% against a market near 21%.
- Parma have scored 5 goals in 9 league games, the fewest in Serie A, and are 0-0-4 away with two goals.
- Atalanta are without Hien, Kossounou, Kolasinac, Bellanova and Kristensen and have kept one clean sheet in nine league games.

Atalanta (3-2-4, 11 points, 12th) host Parma (1-2-6, 5 points, 18th) on Monday, Nov. 2 at 2:45 PM ET at New Balance Arena in Bergamo, streaming on Paramount+. The three-way price sits around Atalanta -205, draw +330, Parma +450, with the over 2.5 at -165. The tension: Serie A's lowest-scoring attack visits a team that has conceded 17 goals and is missing most of its defenders. SportsHub verdict: no edge.
How these teams got here
Atalanta are winless in four matches across all competitions. They lost 3-2 at AC Milan on Oct. 18 and 2-0 at Ajax in the Conference League on Oct. 22, then let a late lead slip in a 4-4 home draw with Frosinone and came from behind for a 2-2 draw at Fiorentina on Oct. 29. That's 16 goals for and 17 against in nine league games, with one clean sheet. Per Calciodangolo, 17 conceded through nine rounds is the club's worst mark since returning to Serie A in 2011-12.
Home has been the refuge. Maurizio Sarri's side is 3-1-1 in Bergamo with 11 goals scored, against 0-1-3 on the road.
Parma have the opposite problem. Alberto Gilardino's side has five goals in nine games, the fewest in the league, and has been shut out five times. The lone win came against Genoa on Sept. 20. Since then: three straight losses (3-0 at Inter, 3-0 at home to Torino, 2-1 at unbeaten Lazio) and a 0-0 with Udinese on Oct. 28 in which Adrián Bernabé had a 69th-minute penalty saved. Parma are 0-0-4 away, with two goals scored.
Krstovic against a low block
Nikola Krstovic carries Atalanta's attack: 6 league goals, 2 assists and 24 shots, nearly double anyone else on the roster. He scored twice against Frosinone. Behind him, Charles De Ketelaere and Nicola Zalewski have 3 assists each and set each other up for both goals at Fiorentina. Éderson has two goals, one from the spot.
Parma's 3-5-2 is built to sit deep and break through Romero and Simone Lontani, who lead the team with two goals apiece. No Parma player has more than two. In goal, the previews split between Edoardo Corvi (29 saves) and Giovanni Daffara, which says plenty about how settled the back end is.
The question is whether Parma can hold that block for 90 minutes. Atalanta have scored in eight of nine league games; Parma have conceded at least twice in five of nine.
Atalanta's defensive injury list
This is where the price gets complicated. Matchday previews from Sky Sport Italia and Calciodangolo list Hien, Kossounou, Kolasinac, Bellanova and Kristensen among the unavailable, which is most of the club's first-choice defense. Raspadori, Kessié and Gaetano are out too, and Calciodangolo and Fantamaster both report Scamacca isn't ready despite returning to ball work.
The expected back four is Zappacosta, Scalvini, Obric and Bernasconi, with Pasalić and Éderson screening. That's a patched unit, and Frosinone scored four times against it in Bergamo. Parma's attack is nowhere near Frosinone's (sixth in the table), but a makeshift defense facing counters is exactly how heavy favorites drop points.
Parma's team news is murkier: one preview has Bernabé out injured, two others have him starting. He stays off our injury report until the lineups land.
How the line has moved
Atalanta opened around -235 and have drifted to -205, while Parma came in from +500 to +450; the draw hasn't budged from +330. Over the same stretch the over 2.5 went from -135 to -165. The market is pricing more goals and a less comfortable Atalanta win, which fits the defensive absences.
Prediction: no edge
Our model makes Atalanta a 76% winner, which looks like value against the roughly 62% the no-vig market implies. It isn't. The model gives the draw just 5%, while the market prices it near 21%, and Atalanta have drawn two straight. Close that gap and there's no real disagreement about Atalanta's chances.
- Atalanta's home form (3-1-1) and Parma's road record (0-0-4, two goals) point to the hosts.
- Parma's five goals in nine make a Parma win the least likely result.
- Atalanta have one clean sheet in nine and are without five defenders, which keeps the draw live.
- Atalanta are winless in four across all competitions, so -205 isn't a price to chase.
The swing factor: an early Atalanta goal forces Parma out of their shape, which is when Krstovic and De Ketelaere do damage. If it's 0-0 at the hour, the draw price starts to look generous.
On the total, seven of Atalanta's nine league games have gone over 2.5, but Parma have scored one goal or fewer in eight of nine. At -165 the over is fairly priced, not a bet.
