Guardians: Late-inning thunder
Cleveland flipped Game 1 in the final three innings. Down 2-0 after the first, the Guardians got solo homers from Chase DeLauter and Patrick Bailey, then broke it open in the eighth and ninth for a 7-3 win on 14 hits. José Ramírez and DeLauter had three hits apiece.
This team got here the hard way. The Guardians rallied from 0-2 down to beat the White Sox in the ALDS, and their bullpen led the majors with 117 holds. Five relievers covered the last five innings of Game 1, allowing one run.
