Borussia Dortmund vs Eintracht Frankfurt Prediction, Picks & Odds (Bundesliga Matchday 7)
By SportsHub Model · Edited by Kyle Parker
The 20-second version
- No edge: the model's 75% on Dortmund leans on a 5% draw chance the market prices near 20%, so we pass on the result.
- Dortmund lead the Bundesliga with four clean sheets but have scored just five goals in their last five games.
- Frankfurt have conceded 16 goals in six league games, including a 6-0 loss at RB Leipzig.
- Frankfurt are on eight days' rest; Dortmund played a Champions League game in Azerbaijan on Tuesday.

Unbeaten Borussia Dortmund (4-2-0, 14 points, 2nd) host Eintracht Frankfurt (2-2-2, 8 points, 11th) at Signal Iduna Park on Saturday at 12:30 PM ET on USA Network. Dortmund sit around -215 on the three-way line, with the draw near +370 and Frankfurt near +425. The tension: the stingiest defense in the league has stopped scoring, and the leakiest visitor arrives rested. No edge: we pass on the result.
How these teams got here
Dortmund opened with four straight league wins, then stalled. Back-to-back home draws, 2-2 with Werder Bremen and 0-0 with Union Berlin, let Bayern Munich move level on 14 points and ahead on goal difference. BVB have just five goals in their last five games across competitions, and the Union draw produced only two shots on target.
Frankfurt's season swings wildly. They shipped six goals at RB Leipzig on Oct. 10, then ground out a 1-0 win over FC Köln on Oct. 16. Their 16 goals conceded in six league games (about 2.7 per match) are the problem in any away game.
Schedule matters here. Dortmund flew to Azerbaijan and beat Sabah 2-1 in the Champions League on Tuesday, four days ago. Frankfurt haven't played since Oct. 16, so they come in with eight days of rest.
Dortmund's back line vs Frankfurt's front two
This is the matchup that decides the game. Dortmund's four clean sheets lead the Bundesliga, and Niko Kovač's back three of Gadou, Anton and Schlotterbeck is expected to start, with Kobel in goal.
Frankfurt's attack is real, though. Younes Ebnoutalib has five league goals and Jonathan Burkardt three, and Adi Hutter's side is built to break quickly into space. If Dortmund's wing-backs, Ryerson and Svensson, push high, that space opens up.
At the other end, Dortmund's scoring is spread thin: Serhou Guirassy, Felix Nmecha and Fabio Silva have two league goals each. Guirassy scored both goals at Sabah and is expected to lead the line, with Ethan Nwaneri and Maximilian Beier behind him.
Who's missing
Dortmund are still without Emre Can (knee), Giannis Konstantelias (knee) and Justin Lerma (muscle). None of them is in the projected XI, so the losses thin the bench more than the lineup. The bigger question is fatigue after the Champions League trip: expect some rotation.
Frankfurt are close to full strength. Midfielder Oscar Højlund is the main doubt. If he can't go, Noel Aseko and Raphael Onyedika anchor the middle. Onyedika is one booking from a suspension, which could make him cautious in tackles.
How the line has moved
Dortmund opened around -225 and drifted to about -215, while the draw ticked from roughly +360 to +370. That small move away from the favorite fits the tired-legs story. The total sits at 3.5, priced close to even on both sides.
Prediction: no edge
Our model makes Dortmund a 75% winner, above the roughly 63% the market implies once you strip out the margin. We aren't backing it, for four reasons:
- The draw is mispriced in the model. It gives the draw just 5%, while the market sits near 20%. Dortmund's last two home league games were draws, which shows why that number looks too low.
- Dortmund's attack has cooled. Five goals in five games is not the form of a side that should lay -215.
- Rest favors Frankfurt. Eight days off against Dortmund's midweek trip to Azerbaijan narrows the gap.
- Frankfurt can score. Ebnoutalib and Burkardt have eight league goals between them, so a Dortmund clean sheet isn't a given.
The swing factor: an early Dortmund goal. Frankfurt's back line has already collapsed once this season, at Leipzig.
On the total: 3.5 is a high bar for a Dortmund side that has kept four clean sheets and scored only five goals in five games. We lean under but aren't making it a pick.
