Lightning vs Blue Jackets Recap: Blue Jackets win 8-5

Mason Marchment went off for a hat trick and an assist, powering Columbus past Tampa and snapping the Lightning’s 15-game point streak. Coyle and Fantilli each added a goal and two assists, while seven Blue Jackets notched multi-point games.

Tampa made pushes but couldn’t stop the bleeding. Despite big nights from Kucherov (1G, 3A) and Guentzel (2G, 1A), defensive breakdowns were constant. Columbus has now won six of seven.

Capitals vs Oilers Recap: Oilers win 6-5 (OT)

Edmonton trailed late before Zach Hyman tied it with 32 seconds left, then Connor McDavid ended it 47 seconds into OT. Bouchard had a career night with a hat trick and three assists in his 400th game.

Washington couldn’t hold multiple leads. McMichael and Sourdif scored, but the Caps blew a late edge and were denied their first back-to-back wins since early December.

Panthers vs Wild Recap: Panthers win 4-3 (OT)

Brad Marchand scored twice, including the OT winner, as Florida overcame a third-period deficit in Minnesota. The Panthers answered immediately after a Wild shorty with a power play strike from Sam Bennett.

Kaprizov and Boldy (1G, 1A each) paced Minnesota, but they couldn’t hold on late. Verhaeghe and Tkachuk had two assists apiece in the Florida win.

Kings vs Blues Recap: Kings win 5-4 (SO)

Trevor Moore returned from injury and played hero with a regulation goal and the shootout clincher. Alex Laferriere added a goal and an assist as L.A. edged St. Louis on the road.

The Blues got two from Jordan Kyrou, but fell to 0-3-1 in their last four. Kuemper outdueled Hofer in net with 25 stops.

Canadiens vs Bruins Recap: Bruins win 4-3

Morgan Geekie scored two power-play goals — including the game-winner — as Boston survived Cole Caufield’s hat trick. The second of Geekie’s goals came just 12 seconds after Minten tied it up.

Boston’s power play was the difference. Charlie McAvoy posted three assists and Swayman locked things down in the third with nine saves.

Islanders vs Sabres Recap: Sabres win 5-0

Buffalo blanked the Islanders behind a 26-save shutout from Alex Lyon and two goals from Jason Zucker. It was Lyon’s second shutout this season and Zucker’s second multi-goal outing.

The Sabres have now gone 18-3-1 since Dec. 9. New York was flat offensively and dropped consecutive games for the first time in over a month.
