NHL Game Recaps

Islanders vs Devils Recap: New York wins 9-0

Anthony Duclair, a healthy scratch in back-to-back games, erupted for a natural hat trick and five points as the Islanders matched their most lopsided shutout win ever.

Ilya Sorokin stopped 44 shots for his 26th career shutout — a new franchise record — and New York got scoring from all over the lineup. Casey Cizikas added two goals and an assist, while the Devils dropped their sixth in eight.

Golden Knights vs Jets Recap: Vegas wins 4-3 (OT)

Tomas Hertl buried the OT game-winner on a power play with 12.8 seconds left to give Vegas a much-needed win. The Golden Knights snapped a five-game losing streak and leaned on timely scoring from Stone, Smith, and Howden.

Winnipeg dropped its 10th straight despite goals from Perfetti, Schenn, and Connor. Hellebuyck made 27 saves but remains winless in his last nine starts.

Lightning vs Avalanche Recap: Tampa Bay wins 4-2

Brandon Hagel broke a 2-2 tie in the third and assisted on an empty-netter as Tampa Bay secured its eighth straight win. Kucherov added two assists to stretch his point streak to eight games.

Colorado got goals from Kelly and Nelson but lost back-to-back games in regulation for the first time this season. Wedgewood made 24 saves.

Connor McDavid notched a hat trick and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins recorded his 500th career assist as the Oilers rolled. Draisaitl and Kapanen also contributed multi-point nights.

Nashville closed its road trip with a tough loss. Saros faced 43 shots and the Predators, playing their seventh straight away from home, couldn’t match Edmonton’s energy.

Sabres vs Canucks Recap: Buffalo wins 5-3

The Sabres raced to a 4-0 lead and held off a furious Canucks rally behind solid goaltending from Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen (32 saves). Tuch, Doan, McLeod, Metsa, and Thompson all scored for Buffalo.

Vancouver got late goals from Pettersson, DeBrusk, and Ohgren but fell short. Demko allowed four goals on 19 shots before the Canucks clawed back in the third.

Hurricanes vs Stars Recap: Carolina wins 6-3

K’Andre Miller scored twice, Seth Jarvis returned from injury with a goal and an assist, and the Canes broke open the game early. Svechnikov added four assists and Bussi picked up win No. 15 on the year.

Trevor Zegras scored twice against his former team, leading the Flyers to another win. Grebenkin and York added two-point games and Vladar stopped 16 shots.

Cutter Gauthier scored for the Ducks, but Anaheim’s slide extended to seven straight losses. Defensive lapses and poor puck movement hurt them again.

Maple Leafs vs Panthers Recap: Toronto wins 4-1

Knies had a goal and an assist in his 200th game, Matthews stayed hot with his sixth goal in three games, and Toronto leaned on early scoring to beat Florida.

Joseph Woll made 31 saves and helped the Leafs control pace throughout. The Panthers have now lost three of four.
