Josh Allen gutted through injuries to lead Buffalo past Jacksonville. And Drake Maye played beyond his years in a defensive win over the Chargers. Late-game poise and red-zone efficiency mattered.

Top Takeaways
- The 49ers offense closed strong after a quiet start, overcoming two Purdy INTs and Kittle’s injury. McCaffrey and Robinson were the difference.
- Josh Allen scored twice on the ground and went 28-of-35 through the air despite three separate injuries. Buffalo’s fourth-quarter execution was elite.
- Lawrence’s late INT ended Jacksonville’s hopes after two fourth-quarter leads. Costly turnover at the worst possible time.
- Patriots defense absolutely shut down Herbert (six sacks, 207 total yards allowed). Maye ran and threw with confidence in his playoff debut.
- Philadelphia’s offense stalled late. Hurts had just 168 yards passing and couldn’t extend drives in the final five minutes.
NFL Game Recaps
49ers vs Eagles Recap: San Francisco wins 23-19
San Francisco closed the door on the defending champs with a 4-yard touchdown from Brock Purdy to Christian McCaffrey with under three minutes left. McCaffrey had 114 total yards and two receiving TDs. Demarcus Robinson added 111 yards and a score. Purdy finished with 262 yards, 2 TDs, and 2 INTs.
The Eagles held a 19-16 lead early in the fourth, but Hurts and the offense never found another gear. The 49ers overcame the loss of George Kittle (Achilles) and a two-pick day from Purdy with timely execution and red-zone efficiency. Philly drops its first home playoff game under Sirianni.
Bills vs Jaguars Recap: Buffalo wins 27-24
Josh Allen delivered one of the gutsiest games of the season: head, hand, and knee injuries — and still 273 yards, one passing TD, and two rushing scores. His 1-yard keeper with 1:04 left capped a clean 2-minute drill. Khalil Shakir caught 12 passes for 82 yards, and Buffalo won its first road playoff game since 1991.
Trevor Lawrence kept Jacksonville alive with three touchdown passes, including two in the fourth. But a tipped INT on the first play after Buffalo’s final score sealed it. The Jags couldn’t get stops when it counted, and Allen made them pay.
Patriots vs Chargers Recap: New England wins 16-3
Drake Maye made it look like he’d been here before. The rookie threw for 268 yards and a touchdown and led the team in rushing with 66 yards. Hunter Henry’s 28-yard score in the fourth iced the game, and New England’s defense dominated throughout.
The Patriots sacked Justin Herbert six times and gave up just 207 total yards. Herbert is now 0-3 in the postseason. Rhamondre Stevenson added 128 yards from scrimmage. New England awaits the winner of Texans-Steelers for next week’s matchup in Foxborough.
