Top Takeaways

  • SGA dominated the third. Oklahoma City turned the tide with a 15-point solo surge from Shai in Q3, locking in their first win over the Spurs this year.
  • Lakers overwhelmed Atlanta early. Their 81-point first half buried the Hawks before halftime and covered with ease.
  • Miami’s closers hit late. Adebayo and Powell combined for the final punch after back-and-forth buckets vs. Phoenix.
  • Wolves showed depth matters. No Gobert or Edwards? Didn’t matter. Minnesota blew the Bucks out anyway.
  • Houston executed in the clutch. Durant and Smith hit late jumpers that made the difference in a tight one vs. Chicago.
  • Denver won ugly. Outrebounded and outscored inside, the Nuggets still got it done with better guard play in key stretches.
  • Balanced Warriors broke through. With six guys in double digits and Curry distributing, Golden State got its first win over Portland this season.

NBA Game Recaps

Spurs vs Thunder Recap: Thunder win 119-98

This one flipped in the third quarter. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 15 of his 34 points after halftime, leading the Thunder to their first win over San Antonio in four tries. Jalen Williams chipped in 20, and Chet Holmgren anchored the paint with 10 boards and 3 blocks.

The Thunder defense stood out here. They held the Spurs under 100 points for the first time this season and matched their season high in blocks (11). San Antonio’s offense simply didn’t have an answer once OKC ramped up the intensity, and the second-half scoring drought crushed any shot at covering.

Hawks vs Lakers Recap: Lakers win 141-116

Los Angeles came out swinging and never let up. LeBron James put up 31 points with 10 assists and nine rebounds, nearly triple-doubling in a get-right game. Luka Doncic added 27 and Deandre Ayton controlled the glass with 18 rebounds.

The Lakers shot 60.5% in the first half and cruised to an 81-60 halftime lead — their biggest of the season. Atlanta’s defense never adjusted, and LA’s big start gave them full control of the spread. This was a cover from the first quarter on.

Suns vs Heat Recap: Heat win 127-121

This one came down to late-game shotmaking, and Miami had more of it. Bam Adebayo carried the scoring load late with 13 straight points before Norman Powell, just back from injury, hit the go-ahead three. He finished with 27, and Tyler Herro added 23 of his own.

Phoenix had good individual performances — Allen and Brooks each had 25 — but couldn’t stop the Heat’s final push. Bam’s closeout run iced the game and secured the cover. Quietly, Miami keeps showing it can finish close games better than most teams.

Where Matchups Turn Into Profits

Bulls vs Rockets Recap: Rockets win 119-113

The Rockets made more plays late and got just enough stops. Kevin Durant put up 28 points with 10 boards, Alperen Sengun added a double-double of his own, and Jabari Smith Jr. hit three big shots late to pull Houston ahead.

It wasn’t a clean win — neither team led by double digits — but the Rockets found rhythm in the final few minutes while Chicago leaned on a short bench. Tre Jones exploded for a career-high 34, but with Giddey and White both out, the Bulls faded late. Bettors on the home side cashed by trusting Houston’s playmakers in crunch time.

Timberwolves vs Bucks Recap: Timberwolves win 139-106

This was the biggest surprise of the slate — not that Minnesota won, but how easy it looked. Without Anthony Edwards or Rudy Gobert, the Wolves still dominated in Milwaukee. Julius Randle led with 29 points, Bones Hyland added 23, and Naz Reid chipped in 19 more.

Giannis had 25, but this was over fast. Minnesota controlled pace, played through Randle, and exposed the Bucks’ lack of rim protection without Myles Turner. When a short-handed team wins by 30+, that’s more than variance — it’s execution and motivation.

Nuggets vs Pelicans Recap: Nuggets win 122-116

Denver got outmuscled inside but made up for it with backcourt dominance. Jamal Murray led all scorers with 35, Peyton Watson dropped a career-high 31, and the Nuggets hit enough big shots late to edge out the Pelicans.

New Orleans won the rebounding battle 51-32 and outscored Denver in the paint 56-38, but they still came up short. Their offense couldn’t stay efficient enough late, and Denver’s perimeter play made the difference. Hardaway Jr. gave the Nuggets a bench boost too, helping them cash in a tough road spot.

Warriors vs Trail Blazers Recap: Warriors win 119-97

Golden State finally handled Portland in their fourth meeting this season, and they did it with balance. De’Anthony Melton scored a season-high 23, while Stephen Curry had just seven points — but made up for it with 11 assists, a season best.

This wasn’t about stars. The Warriors had six players score in double figures and controlled the game after halftime. Portland couldn’t match the execution, and for once, Golden State delivered on both ends. Bettors backing the home side got the result they’d been waiting for.
