European Soccer Weekly Report – Serie A Goal Trends

Those that regularly keep up to date with Sports Hub’s weekly Euro soccer report will know that Serie A goal trends have been a hot topic of conversation. Serie A Overs have been landing on a consistent basis, and I highlighted that trend last week as well.

That trend continued with the latest results. 100% of the six Serie A games on the schedule saw over 2.5 goals. Despite the number of matches being cut down from ten to six, and, thus, the volume of data being smaller, it is still a consistent tendency at the moment.

It is now three weeks in a row where we have seen over 50% of all Serie A matches have over 2.5 goals. Round 19 had 60%, Round 20 had 80%, and Round 21 saw all of its games have over 2.5 goals. Therefore, we suggest riding that trend again this weekend.

Euro Soccer Betting Trends – Serie A totals breakdown

I made three Serie A totals bets last week. Having selected the over in all three wagers, I was right in backing over 2/2.5 goals as they all resulted in winners. It is clear that following Serie A goal trends can result in some good profits. Take a look at the bets from last weekend here:

  • Salernitana 1-2 Genoa (Bet: O2, -124)
  • Udinese 2-3 Milan (Bet: O2.5, -120)
  • Lecce 0-3 Juventus (Bet: O2, -132)

As you can see, all three selections managed to land, meaning that backing the over in Serie A games was extremely profitable. The bookmakers set the line for two of those aforementioned games quite low at 2. However, even if it was set at the usual line of 2.5, the two bets would have still hit.

One of the reasons as to why I backed the over in the Salernitana vs Genoa game was because the hosts had one of the highest over 2.5 goal ratios in the league (65%). That ratio increased to 70% for their home games. Both teams have also been bad defensively this term.

Moreover, the Udinese vs Milan was a good game to identify for the over to land. That’s because Milan had one of the highest ratios for over 2.5 goals for away games, with that bet landing in 80% of their games before the game took place. It’s always a good tactic to analyze the over 2.5 goals ratios when looking at Serie A goal trends.

Euro Soccer Betting Trends – Should you continue riding this trend?

The last few weeks have demonstrated that Serie A goal trends are a good source of profit. In particular, backing the over looks to be a good bet. However, as I have stated before, it’s always important to look at the lines that the oddsmakers set. Check out the lines for this weekend’s matches below:

  • Cagliari vs Torino: Total O2 (-131), U2 (+111)
  • Milan vs Bologna: Total O2.5 (+114), U2.5 (-134)
  • Juventus vs Empoli: Total O2.5 (-123), U2.5 (+103)
  • Atalanta vs Udinese: Total O2.5 (-136), U2.5 (+116)
  • Genoa vs Lecce: Total O2 (+101), U2 (-121)
  • Monza vs Sassuolo: Total O2.5 (-138), U2.5 (+118)
  • Lazio vs Napoli: Total O2 (-146), U2 (+126)
  • Verona vs Frosinone: Total O2.5 (+104), U2.5 (-124)
  • Fiorentina vs Inter: Total O2.5 (-105), U2.5 (-115)
  • Salernitana vs Roma: Total O2.5 (+116), U2.5 (-136)

In some games, the bookies have set the under at plus money in order to encourage more wagers on this line. They know that Overs have been common of late in terms of Serie A goal trends, and thus are looking to entice more bets on the under.

Nevertheless, we can still find value in backing Overs if we identify the right games. That can be done by cross-referencing the over 2.5 goals ratios throughout the season so far with home and away games, as well as more recent ratios for each team.

The suggestion is that you should certainly consider backing the over in Serie A matches again this weekend. However, you must first weigh up whether the line and odds are representing good value. Equally, it would be a good idea to ensure that you are analyzing the over 2.5 goals statistics too before making your picks.
