Winnipeg’s crossover trip to Toronto and Saskatchewan’s visit to BC open the playoffs on October 31. Montreal and Edmonton await the winners, with the Grey Cup set for November 15 in Calgary. The strongest early betting angle is Winnipeg with more than a field goal; BC is the preferred winner in the other semifinal.

CFL Playoff Schedule

All kickoff times are Eastern.

DateRoundMatchupVenueET
Oct 31East semiWPG @ TORBMO Field1 p.m.
Oct 31West semiSSK @ BCBC Place4:30 p.m.

Nov 7West finalSSK/BC winner @ EDMEdmonton6:30 p.m.
Nov 15Grey Cup 113East vs. WestMcMahon, Calgary6 p.m.

Winnipeg takes the crossover route through the East. Montreal and Edmonton have first-round byes and need two wins to lift the trophy; the semifinalists need three. That difference matters when comparing championship prices.

CFL Playoff Odds

The semifinal board retrieved October 27 lists the following American odds. The total applies to both teams; the over and under are each priced at -110.

TeamSpreadMLTotal
WPG @ TOR+3.5 (-105)+18057.5
TOR vs. WPG-3.5 (-115)-22057.5
SSK @ BC+6.5 (-110)+23558.5
BC vs. SSK-6.5 (-110)-29558.5

The half-point above three makes Winnipeg more attractive against the spread than its win-only price. BC’s line asks a different question: the Lions can be the better team and still leave little room for a spread bettor if Saskatchewan keeps the game within one possession.

Grey Cup Futures Odds

These championship prices are dated October 26.

TeamOdds
Montreal Alouettes+154
Edmonton Elks+300
BC Lions+375
Toronto Argonauts+720
Saskatchewan Roughriders+1100
Winnipeg Blue Bombers+1400

Montreal is the title prediction, while BC is the alternative with a larger payout. Edmonton’s bye gives it a shorter path than the Lions, who must first eliminate Saskatchewan and then win on the road.

Playoff Predictions

Winnipeg at Toronto

Toronto gets the narrow outright lean, but Winnipeg is the spread selection. The regular-season meetings finished with a nine-point Winnipeg win and a two-point Toronto win. Chad Kelly threw for 610 yards across those games, giving Toronto a credible passing advantage to build around, while Brady Oliveira supplies Winnipeg with a way to sustain possessions.

The case for the underdog is the price of the margin. Winnipeg does not need to control the entire game to make +3.5 useful. Toronto’s passing production is the main reason to keep the recommendation on the spread rather than turn it into a stronger upset prediction.

Prediction: Toronto wins a close game; Winnipeg covers +3.5.

Saskatchewan at BC

BC gets the outright pick. Both clubs finished 10-8, but the Lions won both meetings at BC Place and took the season series. The venue gives that evidence more relevance than a broad comparison of their identical records.

Saskatchewan has enough familiarity with this opponent to make laying nearly a touchdown less appealing than backing BC to advance. The Lions’ route to the Grey Cup also runs through Edmonton, so winning this semifinal would settle only the first part of a difficult western bracket.

Prediction: BC advances.

Grey Cup Winner

Montreal is the championship pick. Its bye removes one elimination game, and the Eastern final stays at home. The projected final is Montreal against Edmonton, with BC the leading alternative from the West.

At +154, Montreal needs a title probability above approximately 39.4% to justify the price before accounting for bookmaker margin. The shorter route supports the selection, but the price leaves less room for error than the longer futures on the board.

Grey Cup prediction: Montreal Alouettes.

CFL Handicapper Performance

The CFL-only record from June 1 through October 27 is 165-139-1, with a 54.28% win rate across decided picks. The leaders below are ordered by net profit.

HandicapperW–L–PWin %Net
Kyle Parker13–5–072.22%+755
Sas Insider7–0–0100%+700
Heather Williams13–9–059.09%+320
Robert Ferguson3–0–0100%+300
Neal Harris3–1–075%+200

Kyle Parker combines the highest net profit with 18 decided picks. Heather Williams has the largest sample among these five at 22, while Sas Insider’s unbeaten seven-pick run is the strongest short streak. Ferguson and Harris have much smaller samples.

When comparing CFL picks, match the exact market and line to the handicapper’s league record. These results cover CFL selections across markets; they do not establish separate playoff or spread-only records.

Best Bets

Best semifinal bet: Winnipeg +3.5 (-105).

The extra half-point over a field goal is the deciding feature. The teams split their regular-season meetings, and Toronto’s win came by two points. Winnipeg offers a better balance of payout and protection here than the +180 moneyline. The recommendation is specifically +3.5 at -105 or a better price.

Best Grey Cup future: Montreal +154.

The home divisional final and first-round bye make Montreal the preferred championship position at the quoted price. Its path requires two wins, which is central to the case. BC at +375 offers a larger payout, but the additional semifinal and subsequent trip to Edmonton make it the secondary title option.
