With four contenders remaining, it’s time to lock in your 2023 Wimbledon men’s semi finals picks.

The men’s singles semi finals take place on Friday, July 14th. Novak Djokovic will take on Jannik Sinner for a place in the final, while Carlos Alcaraz will lock horns with Danill Medvedev.

Wimbledon is down to 4 on both sides

Sitting at the summit of the ATP Rankings, Alcaraz is the number-one seed. However, Djokovic is the undisputed king of Wimbledon, having won seven titles over the years, including each of the previous four.

Before we get to my Wimbledon men’s semi finals picks, let’s dissect the tournament so far. We’ll check out the latest outright Wimbledon odds and take a closer look at the remaining four men’s singles contenders.

What’s Happened in the Men’s Singles Tournament?

There were multiple seeded players eliminated from Wimbledon in the first round of the men’s singles tournament, including Felix Aguer-Aliassime (#11) and Brona Coric (#13).

The second round claimed even more high-profile scalps, with Casper Ruud (#4), Taylor Fritz (#9), Cameron Norrie (#12) and Alex de Minaur (#15) dropping out of the competition.

Stefano Tsitsipas (#5), Holger Rune (#6) and Andrey Rublev (#7) also fell between the fourth round and the quarter finals, leaving the top three seeds – Carlos Alcaraz (#1), Novak Djokovic (#2) and Daniil Medvedev (#3) – and Jannik Sinner (#8) to battle it out for the trophy.

Latest 2023 Wimbledon Men’s Singles Outright Odds

Prior to cementing your Wimbledon men’s semi finals picks, I recommend studying the latest outright odds. Ultimately, this will only enhance your chances of handing your Wimbledon bets.

Updated Winner Odds for the Wimbledon Men’s Singles Event

  • Novak Djokovic (-180)
  • Carlos Alcaraz (+225)
  • Daniil Medvedev (+800)
  • Jannik Sinner (+900)

If you already know a thing or two about tennis, you will not be surprised that Novak Djokovic is the bookies’ favorite to go all the way. After all, the seven-time Wimbledon champion triumphed in 2018 and 2019 before defending his crown in 2021 and 2022 following the postponement of the 2020 tournament.

According to the sportsbooks, Carlos Alcaraz is Djokovic’s biggest threat. At just 20 years of age, the Spanish tennis prodigy has already won the US Open and rightfully sits at the summit of the ATP Rankings.

After reaching four Grand Slam finals between 2019 and 2022 – triumphing at the 2021 US Open – Daniil Medvedev is the bookies’ third favorite at +800, while 21-year-old Italian star Jannik Sinner is seen as the outsider at +900. But before we move on, did you see our Wimbledon Women’s Semi Finals picks?

How Have the Semi Finalists Performed So Far?

If you can’t wait to unearth my Wimbledon men’s semi finals picks for 2023, feel free to continue scrolling. However, I recommend exploring this section to learn about each semi finalist and their routes to the last four.

Can Novak Djokovic Win a Fifth Successive Wimbledon Title?

Djokovic started the defense of his Wimbledon title by securing straight-set victories over Pedro Cachin, Jordan Thompson and Stan Wawrinka before booking his place in the quarter finals with a 3-1 set win against Hubert Hurkacz (#17).

On Tuesday, the Serbian superstar came from one set down to defeat Andrey Rublev (#7) in the quarter finals, winning 4-6, 6-1, 6-4, 6-3 to reach his 11th Wimbledon semi final.

Roger Federer holds the record for most Wimbledon men’s singles titles with eight, while Djokovic is second on the leaderboard with seven. Needless to say, Djokovic will be determined to join Federer at the top of the list.

Will Carlos Alcaraz Continue His Upward Trajectory?

Alcaraz kicked off his 2023 Wimbledon campaign with straightforward wins against Jeremy Shardy and Alexandre Muller before knocking out Nicolas Jarry (#25) and Matteo Berrettini to punch his ticket to the last eight

It is worth noting that Alcaraz was the only player to achieve a straight-set victory in the quarter finals, as the Spaniard defeated Holger Rune (#6) 7-6, 6-4, 6-4 to reach his third Grand Slam semi final.

Having become the youngest player ever to clinch the #1 spot in the ATP Rankings – reaching the summit aged 19 years and four months – Alcaraz is destined for tennis greatness. He may still be 20, but he has the potential to go all the way at Wimbledon.

Could Daniil Medvedev Reach a Fifth Grand Slam Final?

When Medvedev found himself 2-1 down against Christopher Eubanks in the quarter finals, the Russian had to produce his best tennis. After taking the fourth set 7-6, Medvedev flexed his muscles to wrap up the victory with a 6-1 win in the deciding set.

Medvedev dispatched Arthur Frey, Adrian Mannarino, Marton Fucsovics and Jiri Lehecka without any real problems in the early rounds. Now, the 27-year-old has the chance to reach a fifth Grand Slam final and his first Wimbledon showpiece.

Is Jannik Sinner a Realistic Championship Contender?

Sinner made it through the opening four rounds while dropping a solitary set, dispatching Juan Manuel Cerundolo, Diego Schwartzman, Quentin Halys and Daniel Elahi Galan on his way to the quarter finals.

On Wednesday, the 21-year-old Italian beat Roman Safiullin 6-4, 3-6, 6-2, 6-2 to reach his first-ever Grand Slam semi final. The #8 seed has shown plenty of promise, but he will have to get past the mighty Djokovic in order to reach the final.

Carlos Alcaraz vs. Daniil Medvedev Prediction

Match Odds: Carlos Alcaraz (-278) vs. Daniil Medvedev (+190)

There is no denying that Medvedev has experience on his side, but Alcaraz is undoubtedly the better player right now. Although Alcaraz’s odds are nothing to write home about, they still present decent value, especially when you consider his current form.

Best Bet: Carlos Alcaraz (-278)

Jannik Sinner vs. Novak Djokovic Prediction

Match Odds: Jannik Sinner (+370) vs. Novak Djokovic (-625)

The odds for this matchup tell you everything you need to know about the gulf between the two players. That said, Sinner has played some excellent tennis this summer, so the up-and-coming star could give Djokovic a run for his money.
