Orlando Magic vs Phoenix Suns Prediction, Picks & Odds (Nov. 5, 2026)
By SportsHub Model · Edited by Kyle Parker
The 20-second version
- No edge: the model has this at 50/50 (very low confidence), and the market makes Phoenix a slight 1 to 1.5-point favorite.
- Phoenix is on a back-to-back after a 132-119 home loss to Portland; Orlando last played Monday.
- Orlando is without Banchero and Suggs, so Franz Wagner (20.3 points, 7.6 assists) runs the offense.
- The swing stat: Orlando turns it over 17.3 times a game, and Phoenix averages 8.7 steals.

The Orlando Magic (2-5) visit the Phoenix Suns (1-5) on Thursday at 9:00 PM ET at Mortgage Matchup Center, on Suns Live/3TV in Phoenix and WRDQ/DAZN in Orlando. Phoenix is a 1 to 1.5-point favorite, down from -2.5, with the total at 222.5 to 223.5. The Suns are on the second night of a back-to-back after a 132-119 home loss to Portland. Orlando is rested but plays without Paolo Banchero and Jalen Suggs. SportsHub pick: no edge.
How these teams got here
Orlando's start is upside down. Both Magic wins came on the road, 111-102 at New York and 121-114 at Toronto, while they're 0-4 at home. They dropped their last two at Kia Center, 108-97 to Boston and 103-94 to Washington on Monday. The offense has been the issue: Orlando has scored under 100 points in four of seven games and averages 105.7 points while allowing 114.7.
Phoenix is worse on the scoreboard. The Suns have lost four straight: 125-114 at Oklahoma City, 127-120 to Denver, 116-113 at Golden State and 132-119 to Portland on Wednesday. Their only win is 131-122 over Golden State on Oct. 24. They score 113.3 points a game and give up 124.3. Against the Blazers they went 10-of-36 from three, sent Portland to the line 41 times and allowed 56 points in the paint.
The schedule spot is clear. Orlando last played Monday, so it has two full days off. Phoenix tips about 23 hours after Wednesday's final.
Franz Wagner against a leaky Phoenix defense
With Banchero out, the Magic offense runs through Franz Wagner (20.3 points, 7.6 assists per game), who had 24 and 6 against Washington. Desmond Bane added 20 in that game, and Wendell Carter Jr. (8.9 rebounds) anchors the glass. The weak spot is ball security: Orlando commits 17.3 turnovers per game and shoots 34% from three.
That plays into Phoenix's hands. The Suns average 8.7 steals, against Orlando's 6.9, and they get more of their offense from the backcourt. Devin Booker (24.7 points) scored 33 on Wednesday in 34 minutes, and Jalen Green added 22. Miles Bridges leads the team at 7.0 rebounds. The question is whether Phoenix's legs hold up on defense, because a unit allowing 124.3 points a game has little room for a tired night.
Orlando's thin wing rotation, Phoenix's pending report
The official NBA injury report lists five Magic players out: Banchero (right high ankle sprain), Suggs (right knee bone bruise), Jonathan Isaac (left knee), Noah Penda (partially torn hamstring) and Izaiyah Nelson (ankle). That's two starters and most of the forward depth. Jamal Cain and Jase Richardson started Monday, and Tristan da Silva played 32 minutes off the bench.
Phoenix is without center Mark Williams (shoulder). Guard Jordan Goodwin (calf) and forward Rasheer Fleming (ankle) sat out Wednesday. As of the 9:45 AM ET report, Phoenix had not yet submitted its list for Thursday, which is common on the second night of a back-to-back. Booker and Green both logged 32-plus minutes on Wednesday with no injury listed.
How the line has moved
The earliest licensed number we have was Phoenix -2.5 with a 224.5 total. It's now -1 to -1.5 and 222.5 to 223.5. The moneyline is close to a coin flip: Orlando -102 to -110, Phoenix -110 to -118. The market has priced in the back-to-back, and it isn't asking anyone to pay much for either side.
Prediction: no edge
SportsHub pick: no edge.
- The model has no opinion. It has this game at 50/50 with very low confidence, while the licensed moneylines put Phoenix around 51–52% once the vig is removed. There's no gap to bet.
- Rest favors Orlando. The Magic have had two days off against a Suns team that played Wednesday night.
- Talent on the floor favors Phoenix. Booker and Green are available, while Orlando is missing Banchero and Suggs.
- The point differentials are nearly identical: Orlando -9.0 per game, Phoenix -11.0.
- Turnovers decide it. Orlando's 17.3 giveaways a game against Phoenix's 8.7 steals is the matchup that could swing it.
Swing factor: Phoenix's injury report. If the Suns rest anyone beyond Goodwin and Fleming, this becomes a different game.
Total: Phoenix games have averaged 237.7 combined points and Orlando games 220.4. The 222.5–223.5 number sits between the two, so we're passing on the total too.
