Top-seeded Jessica Pegula moved into the semifinals of the Adelaide International after Ashlyn Krueger retired due to a right thigh injury. Pegula led 6-4, 2-0 when Krueger called for the trainer, ending the match after just 49 minutes. Pegula now faces Yulia Putintseva, who survived a grueling 7-6 (3), 6-7 (9), 6-4 battle against sixth-seeded Diana Shnaider. Putintseva needed 3 hours and 14 minutes to secure the win, aided by Shnaider’s five double faults.

Madison Keys also advanced with a dominant 6-1, 6-3 victory over No. 3 seed Daria Kasatkina in just 57 minutes. Keys will face Liudmila Samsonova, who upset second-seeded Emma Navarro 6-4, 6-4 in a solid performance.
