Ekaterina Alexandrova and Dayana Yastremska to Face Off in Linz Final
Ekaterina Alexandrova delivered a commanding 6-0, 6-4 victory over top seed Karolina Muchova on Saturday, securing her spot in the Upper Austria Ladies Linz final for the second straight year.
The fourth-seeded Russian needed just 73 minutes to dismantle Muchova, moving to 4-1 in their head-to-head series. Last year, Alexandrova fell short in the final to Jelena Ostapenko, but now she has a chance to claim her fifth career WTA title.
Her opponent will be No. 5 seed Dayana Yastremska, who defeated No. 8 seed Clara Tauson 6-1, 6-4 to reach her first WTA singles final in nearly three years.
Yastremska leads their head-to-head series 3-2, though their last meeting in 2022 ended in an Alexandrova victory. The Ukrainian is aiming to win her first title since 2019, when she defeated Caroline Garcia in Strasbourg, France.

Elise Mertens to Battle Ann Li in Singapore Final
Second seed Elise Mertens powered into the Singapore Tennis Open final, serving nine aces and converting four break points to defeat No. 4 seed Xinyu Wang of China 6-3, 6-4.
Mertens dominated her first serve, winning 74 percent of points, and closed out the match in just under 90 minutes.
She will face American Ann Li in the final, after top seed Anna Kalinskaya retired due to a right thigh injury while trailing 7-6 (2), 1-0.
Li, ranked No. 85 in the world, will be chasing her second career WTA title after winning in Tenerife, Spain, in 2021.
Mertens, an eight-time WTA singles champion, will be looking to add another trophy to her collection in their first-ever singles meeting.
