Are you looking for the best Hundred picks to target this week? Look no further. The 2023 edition of The Hundred is in full swing, and Sports Hub’s Weekly Cricket Roundup provides you with all the latest betting advice for the tournament.

However, The Hundred is not the only event on the agenda. With the One-Day Cup, Lanka Premier League and Twenty20 Internationals also taking place, there is no shortage of cricket betting opportunities to take advantage of.

Before we dive into this week’s Hundred picks, let’s take a quick look at what’s going on in the world of cricket right now.

What’s Happening in the World of Cricket?

One of the best things about cricket is the sport’s global reach. With matches, leagues and tournaments taking place across the world all year round, there is always something to keep both fans and bettors entertained.

The Hundred has taken English cricket by storm in recent years, and the 2023 campaign is shaping up to be a thriller. We may only be a week into the new season, but there are already loads of talking points to discuss.

Elsewhere, the exciting T20I series between the West Indies and India continues this week. The West Indies won the first two clashes of the five-match series, meaning India must win the remaining three matches to turn the series around.

There are also several Lanka Premier League games going down this week. Dambulla Aura leads the way after picking up three wins in five matches, but the other four teams remain within two points of the league leader.

The Hundred Picks to Target This Week

The 2023 season of The Hundred is well underway, meaning it’s time to lock in your Hundred picks for this week’s matches. With close to 20 games on this week’s schedule, there is plenty of betting value on offer.

On Wednesday, August 9, the Trent Rockets take on the Northern Superchargers, while the Oval Invincibles face the Manchester Originals. On Thursday, August 10, it’s the Birmingham Phoenix against the Welsh Fire.

Please note that my Hundred picks are for the men’s tournament only. I will be back with more Hundred picks for the women’s tournament soon, but this week’s Hundred picks concern three high-profile men’s clashes.

Trent Rockets vs. Northern Superchargers Prediction

Odds: Trent Rockets (-127); Northern Superchargers (-103)

The Trent Rockets kicked off the defense of their Hundred crown with a six-run victory over the Southern Brave last week. Sam Hain smashed 63 runs off 39 balls, while Lewis Gregory took 3/19 with the ball.

Meanwhile, the Nothern Superchargers’ opening match was abandoned due to rain, but they bounced back with a dominant 60-run win against the Southern Brave last time out. Matthew Short top scored with 73 runs, while Reece Topley posted bowling figures of 3/30.

The Superchargers will be full of confidence after thrashing the Brave, but I can see the Rockets winning on home soil. With superstars like Joe Root, Alex Hales, Dawid Malan and Daniel Sams on board, the Rockets possess more than enough firepower to get the job done.

Best Bet: Trent Rockets (-127)

Oval Invincibles vs. Manchester Originals Prediction

Odds: Oval Invincibles (-128); Manchester Originals (-102)

The Oval Invincibles remain unbeaten after two matches following a win against the London Spirit and a rare tie against the Fire. Last time out, the Invincibles shared the points with the Welsh side after both teams scored 138 runs.

On the flip side, the Manchester Originals lost their opening game before defeating the Phoenix, with Jos Buttler scoring 43 runs to seal the deal earlier this week.

Wednesday’s clash looks destined to be a fierce battle between two star-studded teams. With the Curran brothers and Jason Roy leading the way, the Invincibles will be confident of triumphing on home soil, but the Originals can always count on Buttler.

Birmingham Phoenix vs. Welsh Fire Prediction

Odds: Birmingham Phoenix (-151); Welsh Fire (+116)

The bookies expect the Phoenix to get the better of the Fire on Thursday, but the Birmingham outfit has not tasted victory this year. Following two no-results, the Phoenix suffered a 49-run thrashing at the hands of the Originals on Monday.

Meanwhile, the Fire has recorded one win, one tie and one loss in 2023. After defeating the Originals, the Welsh outfit lost against the Brave before sharing the points with the Invincibles on Sunday.

Regardless of form, the Phoenix boasts a seriously strong roster, with stars such as Ben Duckett, Liam Livingstone, Moeen Ali and Chris Woakes on board. That said, guys like Glenn Phillips, David Willey and Shaheen Afridi make the Fire a dangerous team.

One-Day Cup Predictions and Picks

Now that you’ve had my Hundred picks and predictions, I want to share some One-Day Cup betting advice with you. Also taking place in England and Wales, the One-Day Cup will dish up loads of betting opportunities in the coming weeks.

There are three standout matches on this week’s schedule. Northamptonshire vs. Somerset and Derbyshire vs. Sussex take place on Wednesday, while Worcestershire vs. Gloucestershire goes down on Thursday.

  • Northamptonshire (-120) vs. Somerset (-110) – Best Bet: Northamptonshire (-120)
  • Derbyshire (+111) vs. Sussex (-141) – Best Bet: SIGN IN TO ACCESS PICK
  • Worcestershire (-136) vs. Gloucestershire (+106) – Best Bet: SIGN IN TO ACCESS PICK

I really like the look of Northamptonshire’s roster this year. With one-day experts like Chris Lynn, David Willey, Prithvi Shaw and Andrew Tye in their ranks, I’m backing the Steelbacks to defeat Somerset on Wednesday.

Funnily enough, Derbyshire and Sussex are the only two teams without a point in 2023, and they go head-to-head on Wednesday. Both sides have suffered a couple of defeats this season, so they will both be determined to get on the board this week.

By contrast, Worcestershire and Gloucestershire have both won two of their three One-Day Cup matches this year. The Rapids boast a superior net run rate, but Glos will be confident of upsetting the odds on Thursday.
