The MLB Playoffs Are Coming Soon – Daily Report – Sept 5

Don’t forget that the MLB playoffs are coming soon. Here at Sports Hub, we are ecstatic about the start of the football season. We consumed a healthy dose of college football over the extended Labor Day holiday weekend. And, we are completely stoked that the NFL season kicks off this Thursday night. We’ll have tons of NFL service plays ready; however, we would be wise to keep in mind that the MLB playoffs will be here in just about a month.

The MLB Playoffs Are Coming Soon
Seattle Has Its Eye on the MLB Playoffs

Baseball is in its final month of play. The regular season ends on October 1. A handful of teams appear in complete control of their respective divisions. The Dodgers and Braves, for example, are 14 and 14.5 games ahead, respectively, of the second-place teams in their divisions. The big MLB playoffs races are with the wild cards in each league. Three teams in both the AL and NL will make the postseason as wild cards.

SportsHub Cappers Go 1-2-3

If only I had played what the Sports Hub top-3 played yesterday. Famous last words, right? Now, imagine if you had followed the picks of our SportsHub experts William Taylor, Bill Blatt, and SWJ Sports. If you had, you would have gone 14-0 and won $1490. I’m pretty sure you could live with a day like that!

The MLB Playoffs Are Coming Soon
William Taylor Does It Again!

Digging deeper into yesterday’s leaderboard, we find some pretty amazing stuff. The top 11 cappers all won at least $200. The top 44 all won at least $100 and only two of the top-50 didn’t make money. There were a ton of winning MLB picks. You know what that means. There will be tons of winning MLB playoffs picks next month!

Let’s take a look at yesterday’s Sports Hub leaderboard.

  • Twin Bill: For the second straight day, William Taylor topped my leaderboard. After a 4-0 day on Sunday, Mr. Taylor went 6-0 yesterday and took home $640! That gives him a two-day total of $1075. He hit all five of his MLB picks and one CFL prediction. With that kind of success, be sure to check his MLB playoffs picks.
  • Another Bill: Bill Blatt has been here before. He’s a Sports Hub exclusive capper who provides winners in all the major sports. He’ll be around for the MLB playoffs too. Yesterday, Bill went 4-0, hitting three MLB picks and, just like Mr. Taylor, one CFL pick. Yesterday’s wins added $450 to Bill’s bankroll, which now is up $1746 for the last 30 days.
  • Welcome back SWJ Sports: Scott at SWJ Sports has also been here before. He went a perfect 4-0 yesterday to win $400. He absolutely crushed the Clemson-Duke game hitting all three picks plus another on a CFL game. SWJ Sports is a Sports Hub expert you’ll want to check out this football season. Scott is now up $1135 over the last 30 days.
  • Your MLB playoffs guy: Dan Jones is no stranger to the top of the leaderboard. He went 3-0 yesterday, all MLB picks. Over the last seven days, Dan is our top MLB guy with winnings of $713. That’s the type of guy you want to track for the MLB playoffs.

Football and Some Hot Bats Trending Now

What a great weekend of college football! It was capped off last night by a huge upset. Duke beat Clemson and did so pretty handily, 28-7. Now, we’re looking ahead to the NFL kickoff on Thursday night when defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City hosts the Detroit Lions. Football is not the only thing trending as the 2023 baseball season is headed toward the MLB playoffs. It’s the final month of the season and a rookie is heating up.

Let’s see what’s trending right now.

  • NFL kickoff: We’re now just two days away from the start of the 2023 NFL season. Ahh, it’s good to be back. Pretty soon, we’ll have MLB playoffs, college football, and the NFL to keep us busy at our respective sportsbooks.
  • Clemson QBs: Remember when Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney benched DJ Uiagalelei and turned to Cade Klubnick? Swinney might be kicking himself on that one. Klubnick went 27-of-43 for 209 yards last night as Clemson got beat by Duke. Yeah, Duke! Uiagalelei, by the way, went 20-of-25 for 239 yards and 3 TDs as his No. 18 Oregon State Beavers beat San Jose State 42-14.
  • Rollin’ Royce: If you don’t know Royce Lewis yet, you will. The Twins rookie hit his fourth career grand slam and his third in the past eight games. He now holds the MLB record for fewest games to reach four grand slams (56). He also had a career-high six RBIs yesterday in the Twins 20-6 win over Cleveland. Lewis will play a key role for the Twins in the MLB playoffs.
  • J-E-T-S, Jets! Jets! Jets!: Yes, the New York Jets are trending as we get closer to the start of Week 1 of the 2023 NFL season. Everyone wants to see if Aaron Rodgers can really make that much of a difference.

MLB Playoffs Races Heat Up on Today’s Schedule

For the Tuesday after Labor Day, today’s schedule offers just enough to keep bettors interested. There’s a full slate of MLB games and, while there’s no football on the docket, we’ll be okay until the NFL kickoff on Thursday night. Once we hit Thursday, we’re right back at it with college and NFL football. For now, we’ll be okay with today’s action.

Here’s what’s on the sports schedule today.

  1. Final month of MLB: Four days into the final month of the 2023 MLB season and teams are making their final push to the MLB playoffs. The one that stands out is the race for the AL West Division title. Seattle (77-60) has been on fire in the second half of the season and is now tied with Houston (78-61) for first place. Texas (76-61) is just one game behind. Tonight, Houston travels to Arlington to take on the Rangers in a crucial three-game series.
  2. Quarterfinal play: The US Open moves into the quarterfinals today. No. 2 seed Novak Djokovic takes on No. 9 Taylor Fritz. In today’s other men’s quarterfinal, tenth-seeded Francis Tiafoe takes on Ben Shelton. Top-seeded Carlos Alcaraz will play tomorrow.
  3. Playoff battle: Like the MLB playoffs, four WNBA teams – Atlanta, Washington, Los Angeles, and Chicago – are battling for the remaining three postseason spots. The Sparks, Mystics, and Sky all play tonight. Atlanta will play Seattle tomorrow.
  1. Slow soccer day: It’s what you would call a slow day in the soccer world. There are seven NCAA men’s soccer matches today. The English EFL Trophy dominates the schedule and there are a few matches in the South American pro leagues.
  2. FIBA: By the time you read this, both of today’s games will likely have ended. In fact, Serbia beat Lithuania 87-68 in the first of today’s two games. Team USA is in action against Italy. Winners advance and losers are done.

That’s all for today. The Astros-Rangers series should be a good one. It’s definitely going to impact the MLB playoffs. Only two more days until the NFL kicks off! Our handicappers have been waiting for this moment for a long time. Stick with Sports Hub the entire NFL season for the best intel, picks, and more. Visit our weekly picks pages which have everything you need to have a successful betting week. We’ll see you tomorrow for a rundown of what happened today.
