If you’re looking for expert Premier League Matchweek 8 predictions and picks, you have certainly come to the right place.

The EPL action resumes this Saturday, October 7, with Luton Town hosting Tottenham Hotspur in the early kick-off. The final clash of the round is a heavyweight battle between Arsenal and Manchester City at the Emirates Stadium.

Read on to discover my Matchweek 8 predictions. First, let’s recap Matchweek 7 and discuss the latest Premier League odds.

Matchweek 7 Recap – What Happened Last Weekend?

Before I share my Matchweek 8 predictions and picks with you, we need to go over the results from the previous round of fixtures. There were lots of notable results last weekend, many of which will influence our decisions this weekend.

PREMIER LEAGUE MATCHWEEK 7 RESULTS

  • Aston Villa 6-1 Brighton & Hove Albion
  • Manchester United 0-1 Crystal Palace
  • Newcastle United 2-0 Burnley
  • Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-1 Manchester City
  • Bournemouth 0-4 Arsenal
  • West Ham United 2-0 Sheffield United
  • Everton 1-2 Luton Town
  • Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 Liverpool
  • Nottingham Forest 1-1 Brentford
  • Chelsea 0-2 Fulham

Aston Villa kicked off Matchweek 7 with a 6-1 thrashing of Brighton & Hove Albion, thanks largely to a hat-trick from Ollie Watkins. Arsenal also secured a high-scoring victory, dispatching Bournemouth 4-0 on the south coast.

The biggest upset of the round was Wolverhampton Wanderers’ 2-1 win against Manchester City. There were also shock victories for Crystal Palace at Old Trafford and Luton Town at Goodison Park.

Matchweek 8 Premier League Odds

It’s almost time for me to share my Premier League Matchweek 8 predictions. Before we go any further, though, let’s find out what the bookies make of this weekend’s matchups by assessing the Matchweek 8 EPL odds.

PREMIER LEAGUE MATCHWEEK 8 ODDS

  • Luton Town (+550) vs. Tottenham Hotspur (-225)
  • Burnley (+375) vs. Chelsea (-150)
  • Everton (-106) vs. Bournemouth (+260)
  • Fulham (-163) vs. Sheffield United (+450)
  • Manchester United (-154) vs. Brentford (+350)
  • Crystal Palace (+100) vs. Nottingham Forest (+275)
  • Brighton & Hove Albion (+190) vs. Liverpool (+115)
  • West Ham United (+210) vs. Newcastle United (+115)
  • Wolverhampton Wanderers (+225) vs. Aston Villa (+105)
  • Arsenal (+175) vs. Manchester City (+140)

Everton, Fulham and Manchester United are the overwhelming home favorites this weekend, with Crystal Palace also favored to triumph on home soil.

Interestingly, more teams are expected to win on the road during Matchweek 8. Tottenham and Chelsea are the heavy away favorites, while Liverpool, Newcastle, Aston Villa and Manchester City are also favored to triumph on their travels.

It’s time to dive into my Premier League Matchweek 8 predictions and picks.

Premier League Matchweek 8 Predictions and Picks

You will be pleased to learn that I landed all three of my Premier League picks last time out. Not only did I get a tasty winner on the moneyline, but I also took advantage of both the match totals and team totals.

Hopefully, my Matchweek 8 predictions will have the same effect. After all, I have scoured the bookies’ odds to find the best Premier League bets for this weekend.

It is worth noting that my Matchweek 8 predictions concern one game on Saturday (Everton vs. Bournemouth) and two games on Sunday (Brighton & Hove Albion vs. Liverpool and Arsenal vs. Manchester City). Ready? Let’s go.

Everton vs. Bournemouth Prediction

16th-placed Everton and 18th-placed Bournemouth are separated by a solitary point after seven matches. While the Toffees have managed to win just once this season, the Cherries have failed to taste victory in 2023-24.

That said, Bournemouth has recorded three draws this term. Following draws against West Ham, Brentford and Chelsea, the Cherries will fancy their chances of picking up another point against struggling Everton.

The Toffees enjoyed a run of one defeat in five outings before losing 2-1 against Luton last time out. Since Sean Dyche’s men have struggled for consistency this season, the draw looks like the most probable outcome for this matchup.

Best Bet: The Draw (+260)

Brighton & Hove Albion vs. Liverpool Prediction

Brighton kicked off their campaign by picking up five wins across the opening six matches, scoring 18 goals in the process (three goals per game). However, the Seagulls suffered a 6-1 thrashing at the hands of Aston Villa last weekend, underlining their defensive frailties.

Following seven straight victories across all competitions, Liverpool also tasted defeat last time out, suffering a controversial 2-1 loss against Tottenham. Like Brighton, the Reds will be eager to get back on track this weekend.

It is worth pointing out that Brighton has a 100% BTTS ratio in 2023-24, while both teams have scored in six of Liverpool’s seven league encounters. With that in mind, it makes sense to explore the goal-based markets for this clash.

Arsenal vs. Manchester City Prediction

This matchup brings together the defending champion and last season’s runner-up. Despite leading the way for much of the previous campaign, the Gunners finished five points behind Pep Guardiola’s men, who clinched a fifth EPL title in six years.

Fast-forward to today – Man City leads Arsenal by one point in the standings. The reigning champ recorded their first defeat of the last time out, while Mikel Arteta’s men extended their unbeaten start to seven matches by thrashing Bournemouth 4-0.

However, the Gunners have lost eight of their last nine games against Man City, with 15 defeats coming in their previous 17 encounters. That tells you everything you need to know about City’s domination of this fixture in recent times.
