With another round of Premier League fixtures on the horizon, it’s time to lock in your Matchweek 6 predictions.

There is no shortage of exciting clashes to look forward to this weekend, including the much-anticipated North London Derby between Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.

Below, I look back at the previous round of fixtures and discuss the latest Premier League odds before sharing my Matchweek 6 predictions and picks.

What Happened in the EPL Last Weekend?

Before you make your Matchweek 6 predictions, be sure to analyze the results from Matchweek 5. After all, you can learn a lot by studying past results, evaluating form and looking for trends.

  • Wolverhampton Wanderers 1-3 Liverpool
  • Fulham 1-0 Luton Town
  • Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 Sheffield United
  • West Ham United 1-3 Manchester City
  • Manchester United 1-3 Brighton & Hove Albion
  • Aston Villa 3-1 Crystal Palace
  • Newcastle United 1-0 Brentford
  • Bournemouth 0-0 Chelsea
  • Everton 0-1 Arsenal
  • Nottingham Forest 1-1 Burnley

Fulham, Tottenham, Aston Villa and Newcastle United all triumphed on home soil last weekend, while Liverpool, Manchester City, Brighton & Hove Albion and Arsenal won on their travels.

It is worth noting that Liverpool, Spurs, Man City and Villa all came from behind to claim all three points during Matchweek 5. Meanwhile, Nottingham Forest rescued a draw against Burnley at the City Ground.

There were also clean sheets for Fulham, Newcastle, Arsenal Bournemouth and Chelsea last weekend, with the Cherries and the Blues serving up the first goalless draw of the season on the south coast.

Matchweek 6 Premier League Odds

Let’s discuss the latest Premier League odds before we lock in our Matchweek 6 predictions. The bookies’ prices always give us a good indication of how things could pan out over the course of the weekend.

  • Crystal Palace (-106) vs. Fulham (+280)
  • Luton Town (+220) vs. Wolverhampton Wanderers (+120)
  • Manchester City (-650) vs. Nottingham Forest (+1600)
  • Brentford (-120) vs. Everton (+320)
  • Burnley (+333) vs. Manchester United (-138)
  • Arsenal (-143) vs. Tottenham Hotspur (+320)
  • Brighton & Hove Albion (-267) vs. Bournemouth (+600)
  • Chelsea (-115) vs. Aston Villa (+280)
  • Liverpool (-250) vs. West Ham United (+550)
  • Sheffield United (+550) vs. Newcastle United (-223)

As you can see, Crystal Palace, Man City, Brentford, Arsenal, Brighton, Chelsea and Liverpool are the heavy home favorites for Matchweek 6. On the flip side, Wolves, Manchester United and Newcastle are favored to win on the road.

The fixture with the biggest price gap is the clash between Man City and Forest. Pep Guardiola’s men have won all five of their EPL games this season, and they also thrashed Forest 6-0 at the Etihad last term.

Without further ado, let’s dive into my Premier League Matchweek 6 predictions and picks.

Premier League Matchweek 6 Predictions and Picks

Having reviewed last weekend’s results and assessed the EPL odds for this weekend, it’s time for me to dish out my Matchweek 6 predictions.

With no Friday or Monday games on the Matchweek 6 schedule, all the action will take place this weekend. The first five clashes are scheduled for Saturday, September 23, with the final five clashes slated for Sunday, September 24.

My Matchweek 6 predictions and picks concern three standout fixtures – Manchester City vs. Nottingham Forest, Beighton & Hove Albion vs. Bournemouth and Chelsea vs. Aston Villa. Let’s get this party started!

Manchester City vs. Nottingham Forest Prediction

Manchester City remains the only Premier League team with a 100% record this season. The reigning champions have secured five straight victories in 2023-24, scoring a whopping 14 goals while conceding on just three occasions.

As expected, Erling Haaland has hit the ground running this term, netting seven goals in eight matches. On top of that, Julian Alvarez has racked up four goals and four assists to make Man City’s attack even more dangerous.

Granted, Nottingham Forest has not made a bad start to the season, taking seven points from a possible 15. However, the Tricky Trees endured a 6-0 thrashing at the Etihad last season, so I’m backing City to score over 2.5 goals on Saturday.

Best Bet: Manchester City Over 2.5 Goals (-147)

Brighton & Hove Albion vs. Bournemouth Prediction

With five matches in the books, no team has scored more Premier League goals than Brighton this season. Indeed, the Seagulls have already chalked up 15 goals, meaning they average three goals per game in 2023-24.

On the flip side, Andoni Iraola’s Bournemouth is still waiting to taste victory this term. Although the Cherries have lost only two of their five league outings, they have also registered three draws, highlighting their indifferent start.

By contrast, Roberto De Zerbi’s men have won four of their five Premier League encounters this season. Brighton is favored to triumph on home soil this weekend, but stubborn Bournemouth could upset the odds.

Chelsea vs. Aston Villa Prediction

It is no secret that Chelsea spent an outrageous amount of money during the summer transfer window, forking out more than £400m on players like Moises Caicedo, Romeo Lavia, Christopher Nkunku, Cole Palmer and Nicolas Jackson.

However, the Blues have flattered to deceive this season, recording one win, two draws and two losses to remain in the bottom half of the table. To make matters worse, only four teams have scored fewer Premier League goals than Chelsea in 2023-24.

Aston Villa, on the other hand, has netted 11 goals in five league outings this term, picking up three victories in the process.  The odds suggest that Chelsea (-115) will triumph on Sunday, but Aston Villa (+280) is bound to attract plenty of attention from bettors.
