The Premier League is back, and that can only mean one thing – it’s time for me to reveal my Matchweek 22 predictions.

Matchweek 21 started all the way back on January 12, meaning we have a lot to catch up on. I will start by looking back on the previous round of fixtures before sharing my thoughts on the upcoming clashes.

Keep reading to discover my Premier League Matchweek 22 predictions and picks.

Matchweek 21 Recap – What Happened Previously?

There were wins for Liverpool, Manchester City and Arsenal last time out, while Chelsea and Brentford also tasted victory. Let’s recap the Matchweek 21 results.

PREMIER LEAGUE RESULTS (MATCHWEEK 21)

  • Burnley 1-1 Luton Town
  • Chelsea 1-0 Fulham
  • Newcastle United 2-3 Manchester City
  • Everton 0-0 Aston Villa
  • Manchester United 2-2 Tottenham Hotspur
  • Arsenal 5-0 Crystal Palace
  • Brentford 3-2 Nottingham Forest
  • Sheffield United 2-2 West Ham United
  • Bournemouth 0-4 Liverpool
  • Brighton & Hove Albion 0-0 Wolverhampton Wanderers

Interestingly, five of the 10 Matchweek 21 clashes ended in a draw. It is also worth noting that only three teams triumphed on home soil, with Liverpool and Man City winning on the road.

Six games produced over 3.5 goals, with three of those games serving up over 4.5 goals. At the opposite end of the spectrum, there were two goalless draws. Still, the EPL’s goals-per-game average remains high at 3.11 for the season.

Matchweek 22 Premier League Odds & Fixtures

Before I share my Matchweek 22 predictions with you, we need to evaluate the odds for the forthcoming round. After all, assessing the bookies’ prices will help us to find the best possible value.

PREMIER LEAGUE ODDS (MATCHWEEK 22)

  • Nottingham Forest (+650) vs. Arsenal (-250)
  • Fulham (+150) vs. Everton (+190)
  • Luton Town (+375) vs. Brighton & Hove Albion (-150)
  • Crystal Palace (-150) vs. Sheffield United (+450)
  • Aston Villa (-110) vs. Newcastle United (+260)
  • Manchester City (-900) vs. Burnley (+2000)
  • Tottenham Hotspur (-150) vs. Brentford (+375)
  • Liverpool (-167) vs. Chelsea (+400)
  • West Ham United (+140) vs. Bournemouth (+170)
  • Wolverhampton Wanderers (+180) vs. Manchester United (+150)

Crystal Palace, Aston Villa, Man City, Tottenham and Liverpool are the minus-money favorites for Matchweek 22. Fulham and West Ham are also expected to triumph on home soil, although their odds are higher.

Elsewhere, Arsenal and Brighton are the only minus-money away favorites. Manchester United is also favored to win on the road, but their clash with Wolves is the tightest match to call in terms of the moneyline odds.

Premier League Matchweek 22 Predictions & Picks

The Premier League action resumes on Tuesday, January 30, with Nottingham Forest hosting Arsenal in the opening kick-off. The midweek round concludes on Thursday, February 1, before Matchweek 23 gets underway on Saturday, February 3.

As things stand, table-topping Liverpool holds a five-point lead over Man City, Arsenal and Aston Villa, although the defending champions have a game in hand on the leaders. Meanwhile, Sheffield United and Burnley remain cut adrift at the bottom.

Anyway, it’s time for me to reveal my Premier League Matchweek 22 predictions and picks. Having scoured the bookies’ odds, I’m confident that we can land a tasty profit in the coming days.

Nottingham Forest vs. Arsenal Prediction

Following back-to-back losses in the Premier League, the Gunners revived their title charge with a 5-0 thrashing of Crystal Palace last time out. Despite that victory, Mikel Arteta’s men have won just two of their previous eight matches across all competitions.

Meanwhile, Nottingham Forest suffered a 3-2 defeat against Brentford during Matchweek 21. The Reds have experienced an indifferent start to life under Nuno Espirito Santo, recording two wins and two losses in the league.

That said, Nuno’s men have scored nine goals in four EPL games (2.3 goals per game). Since Arsenal has kept only two clean sheets in the last 10 matches, I’m backing Forest to find the back of the net at the City Ground.

Best Bet: Nottingham Forest Over 0.5 Goals (-136)

Luton Town vs. Brighton & Hove Albion Prediction

Luton and Brighton both progressed to the fifth round of the FA Cup on the weekend. While the Hatters snatched a 2-1 victory over Everton in second-half stoppage time, the Seagulls thrashed Sheff Utd 5-2 at Bramall Lane.

In the Premier League, Brighton has managed to accumulate twice as many points as Luton. Consequently, Robert De Zerbi’s men occupy seventh place in the standings, while Rob Edwards’ men find themselves in the relegation zone.

Funnily enough, only Brighton (86%) and Tottenham (76%) possess a higher BTTS ratio than Luton (75%) this season. With that in mind, I recommend exploring the goal markets for this matchup.

Aston Villa vs. Newcastle Prediction

Aston Villa’s home form is second to none. Unai Emery’s men have won 16 of their 17 last Premier League matches at Villa Park, remaining unbeaten at home in the league this season.

By contrast, Newcastle’s recent record is poor. Not only have the Magpies lost each of their last five away league outings – conceding 14 goals in the process – but they have also lost six of their previous seven EPL games.

All the signs point towards the home victory here, but Eddie Howe’s men will fancy their chances of upsetting the odds. You’ll need to sign in to access the rest of my Matchweek 22 predictions and picks.

It’s Time to Make Your Matchweek 22 Predictions

Following a sparse January schedule, the Premier League returns with a bang this week. 10 games are set to take place between Tuesday and Thursday, with another 10 games slated for this weekend.

Can Liverpool fend off Man City, Arsenal and Aston Villa at the summit? Will Sheff Utd and Burnley enhance their respective survival chances? Could Luton finally move out of the relegation zone?

Hopefully, my Matchweek 22 predictions and picks will stand you in good stead. Good luck, and happy betting!
