Following the extensive FA Cup and EFL Cup action over the past fortnight, I can’t wait to share my Premier League Matchweek 21 predictions with you.

The EPL returns this Friday, January 12, with Burnley hosting Luton Town in this first-round game. Chelsea welcomes Fulham to Stamford Bridge in Saturday’s early kick-off, while Sunday’s standout clash sees Tottenham travel to Manchester United.

If you’re looking for expert Premier League Matchweek 21 predictions and picks, you’ve come to the right place. Let’s get this show on the road!

What Happened During Matchweek 20?

Matchweek 20 seems like a long time ago. The previous round of fixtures got underway on December 30, and a lot has happened since then. Let’s return to speed by looking at the Matchweek 20 results.

PREMIER LEAGUE RESULTS – MATCHWEEK 20

  • Luton Town 2-3 Chelsea
  • Crystal Palace 3-1 Brentford
  • Manchester City 2-0 Sheffield United
  • Aston Villa 3-2 Burnley
  • Wolverhampton Wanderers 3-0 Everton
  • Nottingham Forest 2-1 Manchester United
  • Fulham 2-1 Arsenal
  • Tottenham Hotspur 3-1 Bournemouth
  • Liverpool 4-2 Newcastle United
  • West Ham United 0-0 Brighton & Hove Albion

Table-topping Liverpool maintained their three-point lead over second-placed Aston Villa with a 4-2 victory over Newcastle United. Meanwhile, Arsenal dropped to fourth in the standings after suffering a second successive defeat.

Spurs claimed a 3-1 victory over Bournemouth to cement fifth place, meaning just six points separate the top five teams. Elsewhere, Manchester City secured an easy 2-0 win against Sheffield United.

Other notable results include Nottingham Forest’s 2-1 impressive triumph against Manchester United and Chelsea’s narrow 3-2 victory over Luton. Will these results impact your Matchweek 21 predictions?

Matchweek 21 Premier League Odds

Before diving into my Matchweek 21 predictions, let’s look at the odds for the upcoming fixtures. It is worth noting that the first five games take place on January 12-14, with the other five games scheduled for January 20-22.

PREMIER LEAGUE ODDS AND FIXTURES – MATCHWEEK 21

  • Burnley (-110) vs. Luton Town (+275)
  • Chelsea (-175) vs. Fulham (+400)
  • Newcastle United (+425) vs. Manchester City (-182)
  • Everton (+170) vs. Aston Villa (+137)
  • Manchester United (+110) vs. Tottenham Hotspur (+200)
  • Arsenal (-300) vs. Crystal Palace (+750)
  • Brentford (+100) vs. Nottingham Forest (+230)
  • Sheffield United (+250) vs. West Ham United (-106)
  • Bournemouth (+350) vs. Liverpool (-163)
  • Brighton & Hove Albion (-163) vs. Wolverhampton Wanderers (+350)

Burnley, Chelsea, Arsenal, and Brighton & Hove Albion are the minus-money home favorites here. Man Utd and Brentford are also favored to triumph on home soil, although their odds are notably higher.

Man City, West Ham United, and Liverpool are the minus-money away favorites, while Aston Villa is also favored to win on the road. It is worth remembering that Villa possesses a 40% win ratio in away-league games this season.

Premier League Matchweek 21 Predictions

It’s the moment you’ve all been waiting for! With the formalities out of the way, it’s time for me to reveal my Premier League Matchweek 21 predictions.

Due to the nature of the schedule, my Matchweek 21 predictions only concern the first batch of fixtures. Still, there is no shortage of exciting betting opportunities on offer, with five clashes taking place this weekend.

Who will come out on top when Burnley hosts Luton? Can Everton upset the odds against title-chasing Aston Villa? Will Spurs pile more pressure on Man Utd and Erik ten Hag? Read on to discover my Matchweek 21 predictions.

Matchweek 21 Predictions
Trent Alexander-Arnold will be out of action for several weeks due to a knee injury he picked up during Liverpool’s FA Cup win over Arsenal.

Burnley vs. Luton Town Prediction

There is no hiding the fact that Friday’s showdown between Burnley and Luton is hugely important. With both teams languishing in the relegation zone, we should be treated to a fierce battle at Turf Moor.

The Hatters have seen over 2.5 goals in six of their last seven EPL matches, meaning they have now seen at least three goals in 68% of their league encounters this season. Consequently, only four teams have a higher percentage than Luton.

As for the Clarets, they have seen over 2.5 goals in six of their ten home league games this term. Following a wild 3-2 defeat against Aston Villa last time out, Vincent Kompany’s men look set to be involved in another high-scoring affair.

Best Bet: Over 2.5 Goals

Everton vs. Aston Villa Prediction

It is difficult to foresee exactly how Everton will perform this weekend. After notching four consecutive victories last month, the Toffees swiftly suffered three successive defeats.

Meanwhile, the Villains continued to strengthen their title charge before the break. Unai Emery’s men have lost just one of their previous nine EPL clashes, defeating Man City and Arsenal in back-to-back games.

Considering Everton’s unpredictability, I recommend exploring the goal markets for this clash. Sean Dyche’s men have seen over 1.5 goals in their last seven home league games, while the Villains have netted two goals in their previous four away league outings.

Manchester United vs. Tottenham Hotspur Prediction

Man Utd and Tottenham both head into Sunday’s showdown on the back of FA Cup victories. While the Red Devils claimed a comfortable 2-0 victory over Wigan Athletic, Spurs defeated Burnley 1-0 to book their place in the fourth round.

In the Premier League, the two sides are separated by eight points, with eighth-placed United trailing fifth-placed Tottenham. It is also worth pointing out that Ange Postecoglou’s men have scored 20 goals more than Man Utd this season.

While Erik ten Hag’s men have lost four of their last eight home league games, Spurs have won four of their previous five EPL clashes. The form guide suggests that Tottenham will give the Red Devils a run for their money, but it doesn’t always work like that at Old Trafford.
