It’s safe to say that the festive fixtures dished up tons of entertainment. A total of 19 goals were scored across the five Boxing Day matches, while the three clashes on Wednesday produced a further 12 goals.

Our Premier League Matchweek 19 review covers all the key talking points, betting trends, and player stats following an action-packed festive period in the EPL. Let’s get this show on the road.

Matchweek 19 Premier League Results

It only makes sense that we kick off our Premier League Matchweek 19 review by diving into the results from Tuesday and Wednesday’s clashes. As you’re about to find out, there is no shortage of goals and drama to discuss.

PREMIER LEAGUE MATCHWEEK 19 REVIEW – RESULTS

  • Newcastle United 1-3 Nottingham Forest
  • Sheffield United 2-3 Luton Town
  • Bournemouth 3-0 Fulham
  • Burnley 0-2 Liverpool
  • Manchester United 3-2 Aston Villa
  • Chelsea 2-1 Crystal Palace
  • Brentford 1-4 Wolverhampton Wanderers
  • Everton 1-3 Manchester City

Nottingham Forest upset the odds and stunned Newcastle in the early Boxing Day kick-off, with Chris Wood netting a hat-trick against his former club. Luton and Bournemouth also scored three goals on their way to victory.

In the final Boxing Day match, Manchester United came from 2-0 down to beat Aston Villa 3-2. Alejandro Garnacho bagged a brace in the turnaround win before Rasmus Hojlund scored his first Premier League goal.

Wednesday’s games also served up plenty of memorable moments, including Manchester City’s comeback victory over Everton. Meanwhile, Wolves put four past Brentford.

Premier League Matchweek 19 Review – Betting Trends

In this section of our Premier League Matchweek 19 review, we take a closer look at all the key stats and trends in the EPL. If you’re serious about taking your EPL betting to the next level, we’ve got you covered.

Not only do we cover basic trends like winning streaks and losing runs, but we also dive into advanced stats such as over/under goals and both teams to score. On top of that, we highlight all the top player stats.

Which team is enjoying a 12-game unbeaten streak? Which side ended a seven-game winless run on Boxing Day? Who has the most goals, assists, and clean sheets? We answer those questions and more below.

Basic EPL Betting Trends

Thanks to a run of 12 games without a loss, Liverpool sits two points clear of Arsenal at the summit of the standings. However, the Gunners will leapfrog Jurgen Klopp’s side if they defeat West Ham United at the Emirates.

  • Liverpool remains the only team with just one defeat this season
  • The Reds extended their unbeaten streak to 12 games on Boxing Day
  • Sheff Utd and Burnley have each lost 14 of their 19 Premier League matches
  • Bournemouth is now on a four-game winning streak
  • Brentford has suffered four consecutive defeats
  • Fulham has recorded three successive losses
  • Forest ended a seven-game winless run on Boxing Day

A gap is starting to emerge between the bottom two – Sheffield United and Burnley – and the clubs towards the lower reaches of the table. That said, the Tricky Trees gave themselves a big boost with an impressive victory over Newcastle.

Premier League Goal Trends

31 goals were scored across the eight clashes on Tuesday and Wednesday, producing an average of 3.9 goals per game. Perhaps a few goalkeepers and defenders enjoyed the festivities too much on Christmas Day!

  • Seven of the eight games across Tuesday and Wednesday produced over 2.5 goals
  • Five of those matches dished up over 3.5 goals, with three producing over 4.5 goals
  • Bournemouth has now seen over 2.5 goals in 13 of their 18 league games this term
  • Aston Villa has seen over 3.5 goals in 10 of their 19 league clashes this season
  • Six of the eight games across Tuesday and Wednesday saw both teams score
  • The BTTS bet has now landed in 15 of Wolves’ 19 Premier League matches this season
  • Man City (43) has scored more Premier League goals than any other team this term
  • Sheff Utd has the worst offensive record (15) and the worst defensive record (47)
  • Liverpool (16) and Arsenal (16) boast the joint-best defensive record

Believe it or not, five teams – Brighton, Wolves, Luton, Tottenham, and West Ham – have a BTTS ratio of 70% or higher this season. By contrast, Man Utd, Everton, and Fulham all possess a 37% BTTS ratio.

Key EPL Player Stats

There have been several standout performances this week, including Wood’s hat-trick against Newcastle. Garnacho and Hwang Hee-chan each scored twice, while Dominic Solanke extended his scoring streak.

  • Forest’s Chris Wood netted a hat-trick against former club Newcastle on Boxing Day
  • Alejandro Garnacho bagged a brace in Man Utd’s 3-2 victory over Aston Villa
  • Hwang Hee-chan also scored twice during Wolves’ 4-1 thrashing of Brentford
  • Bournemouth’s Dominic Solanke has scored eight goals in his last seven appearances
  • Erling Haaland (14) leads the Golden Boot race despite being sidelined due to injury
  • Villa’s Ollie Watkins (8) finds himself at the summit of the assists leaderboard
  • Nick Pope, Alisson, Jordan Pickford, and Andre Onana have each kept six clean sheets
  • Brighton’s Lewis Dunk (1,496) has made the most passes this season
  • Fulham’s Joao Palhinha (82) has made the most tackles this term

Despite missing the past three matches due to injury, Erling Haaland has still netted more goals than anyone else. Interestingly, Joao Palhinha has made 19 tackles more than his nearest challenger, Vinicius Souza.

Premier League Matchweek 19 Review

Manchester City’s player ratings against Everton saw Rodri’s comeback with Phil Foden’s brilliant strike, inspiring a second-half comeback for the world champions.
