Matchweek 14 Premier League Results

It only makes sense to begin our Premier League Matchweek 14 review by assessing last weekend’s results. Before we dive into the stats behind the scorelines, let’s evaluate the biggest winners and losers of the weekend.

  • Brentford 3-1 Luton Town
  • Arsenal 2-1 Wolverhampton Wanderers
  • Burnley 5-0 Sheffield United
  • Nottingham Forest 0-1 Everton
  • Newcastle United 1-0 Manchester United
  • Chelsea 3-2 Brighton & Hove Albion
  • Liverpool 4-3 Fulham
  • West Ham United 1-1 Crystal Palace

Following seven failed attempts, Burnley finally tasted victory at Turf Moor this season. The Clarets crushed Sheffield United 5-0 on Saturday, leaving Paul Heckingbottom fighting to save his job.

Sunday’s clashes dished up the most drama, however, with 24 goals scored across the five games. Liverpool came from 3-2 down to beat Fulham at Anfield, while Aston Villa came from behind on two occasions to draw with Bournemouth.

With the score standing at 3-3 in the dying seconds of the clash between Man City and Tottenham, Jack Grealish found himself clean through on Spurs’ goal. However, referee Simon Hooper canceled out the advantage and pulled the game back, sparking angry scenes at the Etihad.

Basic Betting Trends After Matchweek 14

Arsenal sits two points clear of second-placed Liverpool atop the Premier League table. Still, the top six teams are separated by just six points. At the opposite end of the standings, the Blades find themselves two points adrift and four points from safety.

  • Everton was the only team to win on the road during Matchweek 14
  • Liverpool, Arsenal, Aston Villa and Man City remain unbeaten at home this season
  • Burnley finally picked up their first home win of the campaign
  • Arsenal and Liverpool have each suffered a solitary defeat in the league this term
  • Sheff Utd has managed to register just one victory in 14 matches
  • Nottingham Forest has suffered three consecutive defeats

The Toffees were the only side to win on their travels last weekend, meaning they inflicted a third successive defeat on Nottingham Forest. Meanwhile, Burnley secured their first home win of the season to heap more misery on Sheffield United.
