Money Management Key to Betting Success

Sports bettors that do not take the time to put a money management plan in place are the ones that wonder why their bankrolls are gone in an instant. Too often, sports bettors are more concerned about picking winners and fail to recognize that there is much more to it. Yes, picking winning bets is important, but money management is a skill that every sports bettor should develop.

At Sports Hub, our expert handicappers all utilize some form of money management plan. While they vary among our handicappers, these plans are in place for a reason. One of the biggest issues for relatively newer sports bettors – and those that have no money management plan – is chasing losses.

Money Management Key to Betting Success
Most bettors don’t realize the importance of money management.

Let’s say a bettor loses five bets in a row, and he’s missed on eight of his last nine. He’s now down well over $500. He finds a bet he loves and figures it’s a sure thing. Instead of his normal $50 to $100 bet, he decides he’s going to make up for his losses all at once. He lays down a $500 bet to win $455. The problem is, of course, there is no such thing as a sure thing in sports betting. With a loss, the bettor is now down over $1000.

Follow a Money Management Plan

Most professional bettors – our Sports Hub expert handicappers included – recommend declaring a unit size. This will be the amount you will typically bet. One betting unit is usually one percent of a bettor’s bankroll.

With a bankroll of $1000, one betting unit would equal $10.  With a larger bankroll of $10,000, one unit would equal $100. Depending upon your confidence in a bet, you may choose to wager more than one unit. Our Sports Hub virtuosos will never wager more than five units on a single bet.

Money Management Key to Betting Success
Proper money management will ensure you have the opportunity to win more bets.

Consistency and discipline are absolute musts if you want to succeed in betting on sports. You will go through stretches where it seems like you can’t win anything. Then, there will be times where you get extremely hot. You’ll feel like you can’t lose. Those are the times when your discipline has to keep you from betting above your head. Stick to the money management plan no matter what. Money management is one of the big reasons for our Sports Hub cappers’ success.

Money Management – A Must for Cappers

At Sports Hub, we’ve got the best of the best sports handicappers in the world. We can prove it too with our totally transparent picks database. Our cappers put picks into our system on a daily basis. The database tracks everything. It’s one of the big reasons why our membership is growing.

Bettors that are members of Sports Hub can go into the database and search for virtually anything they want. Want to have success betting on March Madness? Search for the hottest CBB handicappers over the past 7, 14, or 30 days.

Sports Hub’s 30-day college basketball leaderboard.

SWJ Sports, over the last 30 days, has won 58.52 percent of his college basketball picks. With proper money management, SWJ Sports is up over $3100 on just NCAAB picks for the month. That’s what managing your money correctly can do.

Bill Blatt, another Sports Hub exclusive handicapper, is No. 2 on that NCAAB picks list for the last 30 days. He has won 63.46 percent of his CBB picks and is up $1160. Our cappers don’t win them all, but with sound money management they are able to maximize their profits.

Yesterday’s Leaderboard

Our handicappers had another strong day yesterday. The overall leader was The Bookie, a true pro with years of experience in the industry. With a wealth of contacts and access to inside information, The Bookie provides consistent wins over the long run. Yesterday, he went 3-0 and added $305 in profits to his bankroll. That makes it $595 over the last three days.

Here’s how the rest of the top cappers did.

  • Knup Sports returns: The guys at Knup Sports were back near the top of yesterday’s leaderboard. They nailed 8 of 13 picks, mostly on the NBA, and returned $250. That gives Knup Sports $540 in profits over the last three days. Knup Sports is one of our most consistent cappers and that’s because they stick to their money management plan.
  • Lucky seven: It’s actually not luck, but seven Sports Hub experts each went 2-0 and all of them added $200 to their bankrolls. James Anderson, Mario Deluca, Neal Harris, Kyle Buchman, Dan Jones, Jimmy Liu, and Kyle Parker all hit both of their picks last night. Kyle Parker is up $665 over the last seven days and Neal is up $820 over the last 14. Each of the seven handicappers is only available here at Sports Hub. If you want access to consistent, winning sports picks, they are right here at Sports Hub.

Plenty of Hoops News

It’s that time of year. March Madness is in full swing and we’re getting closer to the championship games in both the men’s and women’s NCAA tournaments. The NBA regular season is nearing its end as well. Most teams have around 11 games left to play. There is a ton of trending basketball news.

Here’s the latest.

  • Clark scores 32, Iowa advances: Iowa’s Caitlin Clark scored 32 points to lead the Hawkeyes to a 64-54 win over West Virginia. The win puts Iowa back in the Sweet 16 for the second year in a row. Clark now has 1,113 points, which passed Washington’s Kelsey Plum for the most points in a single season.
  • Hawks end Celtics streak: Boston led Atlanta 68-38 near the end of the first half of their game last night. Atlanta chipped away and eventually won the game 120-118. The Celtics had won nine in a row and 20 of their last 22. Before last night, NBA teams up by at least 30 points in a game were 2,606-5 over the past 25 seasons.
  • Westbrook back in Clippers lineup: Russell Westbrook returned to the Clippers lineup after missing 12 games. He had 14 points and seven assists coming off the bench last night, but it wasn’t enough to help the Clippers. Indiana beat LA, 133-116.

NIT Heads Up Tuesday’s Schedule

It’s the men’s NIT quarterfinals tonight and tomorrow night. The winners of all four games will advance to the NIT Final Four and play at Madison Square Garden in New York City for the tournament championship.

The NIT isn’t the only thing on tonight’s schedule. Have a look.

  1. Full slate of NBA games: While college basketball ruled the past four days, the NBA is king on this Monday night. There are 11 games total with a doubleheader on NBATV. The first game pits Boston at Atlanta at 7:30 p.m. ET. The late game has Philadelphia at Sacramento. Tip off is set for 10:00 p.m. ET.
  2. NIT quarterfinals: Two NIT quarterfinal games will be played tonight. In the first, it’s Georgia visiting Ohio State. The Buckeyes are an 8.5-point favorite and have won 15 of 19 at home this season. In the second game, Cincinnati travels to Indiana State to take on the Sycamores. Tip off is at 9 p.m. ET.
  1. Big skate tonight: There are 12 NHL games on tap tonight. Our sports handicappers already have over three dozen hockey picks in the database for tonight’s action. While following a money management plan is a good strategy, so is partnering with Sports Hub’s best NHL handicappers.
  2. International friendlies: The list of international friendlies is a mile long. Some of the world’s best like England, France, Brazil, and Argentina will all play today.
  3. Spring training winds down: There are 9 MLB spring training games today. They are the final nine exhibition games of the 2024 season. Teams are off tomorrow and then it’s Opening Day on Thursday. Hard to believe we’ll be betting on real baseball.
  4. Miami Open: The 2024 Miami Open continues today. Top-seeded Carlos Alcaraz will face Gael Monfils in a Round 3 match. On the women’s side, No. 1 Iga Swiatek was upset by Ekaterina Alexandrova in a fourth-round match. Coco Gauff also lost.

Despite no NCAA tournament games, there is plenty to bet on today. Remember, you can always find the best picks for whatever sports you like right here at Sports Hub. We have cappers that specialize in basketball. We have others who can help you in niche sports like golf and tennis. You can search our picks database and find handicappers in each sport and you can learn more about money management here too.

Best of luck today. If you’re looking for more wins, remember…proper money management helps. Sports Hub’s expert handicappers can help too by picking consistent winners. We’ll be back here tomorrow to recap all of the action from today. See you then.
