Ligue 1 and Serie A Unders – European Soccer Weekly Review

With just 37.5% of Ligue 1 and 30% of Serie A games during the last matchday seeing over 2.5 goals, it seems like a good idea to take a look at unders when it comes to the totals market.

Last week, I highlighted Ligue 1 and Serie A unders as well. During Week 9, Ligue 1 saw 44.44% of matches have over 2.5 goals, whilst 40% of Serie A games had over 2.5 goals.

The unders are consistently landing in these leagues, and so they must be targeted!

Below, I will focus on Ligue 1 and Serie A unders and will be providing you with a more detailed look at this market. That will include the best teams to target. However, bettors should also not forget about Bundesliga and La Liga overs either.

Euro Soccer Betting Trends – Under 2.5 Ligue 1 and Serie A Goals

It is not the first time that I have spoken about Ligue 1 and Serie A under this season. The unders have been very common in these leagues this term. The bookmakers appear to be offering good value odds for unders too, with many under 2.5 goals prices being around -110.

Here are some key statistics when it comes to looking at the over 2.5 goals market for Ligue 1:

  • Eight teams are hitting below the 53% league average for over 2.5 goals in Ligue 1 (Lens, Toulouse, Metz, Strasbourg, Clermont, Brest, Lille and Nice)
  • Nice has the lowest over 2.5 goals percentage in the league (10%)
  • 0% of Nice’s home matches have seen over 2.5 goals, whilst just 20% of their away matches have hit the over
  • Clermont and Lille have had just 20% of their home matches see over 2.5 goals
  • Lyon and Rennes have seen just 25% of their away outings have over 2.5 goals

Let’s also take a look at some of the key statistics for the over 2.5 goals market in Serie A:

  • 11 teams in Serie A are below the 45% league average for over 2.5 goals (Genoa, Sassuolo, Verona, Bologna, Lazio, Empoli, Torino, Lecce, Udinese, Juventus, and Monza)
  • Monza has the lowest over 2.5 goals percentage in the league (20%)
  • Just 17% of Empoli’s home matches have had over 2.5 goals
  • Lazio, Juventus, Torino, and Monza have all seen just 20% of their home games have over 2.5 goals
  • Milan and Atalanta are also good candidates for under since just 25% of their home games have seen over 2.5 goals
  • Monza, Udinese, Genoa, and Bologna have seen just 20% of their away matches have over 2.5 goals.

These aforementioned teams are the best ones to target if you want to back under. It is a good idea to try and find the best matchups each week in this regard. For example, I highlighted the Clermont vs Nice game last week to have under 2.5 goals.

This is because Clermont has seen just 20% of their home games have over 2.5 goals this season, whilst Nice has had just 20% of their away games have over 2.5 goals.

Breaking statistics down into home and away records is also extremely important. Home advantage can play a huge role in how a particular team performs. Overall, data can skew what is happening. By separating the stats into home and away, we can get a more accurate picture of what’s going on each week.

La Liga overs make a comeback.

La Liga overs suffered a dip during Week 10, but many overs landed in Spain during Week 11. Below, I will break down some of the most important La Liga statistics this season.

Of course, Bundesliga overs continue to come in, too. In my last Euro soccer review, I stated that over 3.5 Bundesliga goals should be considered. In Week 9, the German top-flight saw 66.67% of games have over 3.5 goals, an increase of around 11% from Week 8.

Teams such as Leverkusen, Bayern Munich, Stuttgart, Augsburg, Hoffenheim, Darmstadt, Mainz, and Mönchengladbach should be considered when it comes to backing Bundesliga overs.

Nevertheless, La Liga overs made a comeback last week, as 80% of matches saw over 2.5 goals. Only 20% of La Liga matches had over 2.5 goals during Week 10, so I opted to stay away from that market last week. However, we have seen plenty of goals in La Liga this season. If there are suitable matchups, La Liga overs should also be considered this week.

Here are some key La Liga statistics to consider:

  • Almeria leads the over 2.5 goals market in the Spanish top-flight, with 82% of their matches hitting.
  • Atletico Madrid follow closely behind, with 80% of their games having over 2.5 goals.
  • Real Madrid, Girona, Barcelona, Granada, and Villarreal have had 64% of their games see over 2.5 goals.
  • 100% of Atletico Madrid’s home games have seen over 2.5 goals
  • Athletic Bilbao, Villarreal, and Almeria have seen over 2.5 goals land 83% of the time at home.
  • Getafe (83%), Barcelona (80%) and Almeria (80%) lead the way for overs away from home
