Are you looking for some expert 2023 Moselle Open predictions? Look no further! I have scoured the bookies’ odds to find a handful of top picks for this week’s tournament.

Big-name players like Holger Rune and Casper Ruud have withdrawn from the ATP 250 event, blowing the competition wide open. With the top four favorites priced between +400 and +500, we are set for an intriguing tournament.

Before we dive into my Moselle Open predictions, let’s preview the event and discuss the bookies’ prices.

2023 Moselle Open Preview

  • Dates: November 5-11, 2023
  • Location: Metz, France
  • Venue: Les Arenes
  • Surface: Hard Court
  • Category: ATP 250
  • Edition: 20th
  • Defending Champion: Lorenzo Sonego

The 20th edition of the Moselle Open takes place from November 5 to November 11, with the final scheduled for this weekend. The ATP 250 event is held at Les Arenes in Metz, France, and played on hard courts.

Lorenzo Sonego was the surprise winner of the 2022 Moselle Open, as the Italian defeated Alexander Bublik in the final. Last year’s tournament served up plenty of upsets, including Daniil Medvedev’s second-round exit at the hands of Stan Wawrinka.

Sonego will return to defend his crown this year, but the reigning champ is by no means the favorite to go all the way. It’s time to take a look at the men’s singles outright odds.

2023 Moselle Open Outright Odds – Men’s Singles

  • Alex de Minaur (+400)
  • Alexander Bublik (+500)
  • Ugo Humbert (+500)
  • Karen Khachanov (+500)
  • Botic van de Zandschulp (+1000)
  • Gregoire Barrere (+1100)
  • Lorenzo Sonego (+1400)
  • Dominic Thiem (+1600)
  • Stan Wawrinka (+1600)
  • Marcos Giron (+1800)
  • Alexander Shevchenko (+2800)
  • Daniel Altmaier (+2800)
  • Hugo Gaston (+2800)
  • Constant Lestienne (+3300)
  • Thiago Seyboth Wild (+3300)
  • Yosuke Watanuki (+3300)
  • Matteo Martineau (+5000)
  • Fabio Fognini (+6600)
  • Luca van Assche (+6600)
  • Pierre-Hugues Herbert (+6600)
  • Bernabe Zapata Miralles (+10000)
  • Harold Mayot (+10000)
  • Mathias Bourgue (+10000)
  • Abdullah Shelbayh (+10000)
  • Calvin Hemery (+12500)
  • Mate Valkusz (+12500)

As I already mentioned, the bookies’ prices point towards a tight tournament. Alex de Minaur (+400) is the favorite to lift the trophy, but Alexander Bublik (+500), Ugo Humbert (+500) and Karen Khachanov (+500) are hot on his heels.

The odds take a leap up to Botic van de Zandschulp (+1000) and Gregoire Barrere (+1100), with Lorenzo Sonego – the defending champion – priced at +1400.

There are also a few veteran superstars to keep an eye on, including Dominic Thiem (+1600) and Stan Wawrinka (+1600). It is worth remembering that Thiem reached four Grand Slam finals between 2018 and 2020, while Wawrinka achieved the same feat between 2014 and 2017.

Now that you’re up to speed on the outright odds for the men’s singles event, let’s get stuck into my 2023 Moselle Open predictions and picks.

Moselle Open Predictions for Tuesday, November 7

Since the tournament has a jam-packed schedule with multiple matches taking place each day, bettors need to stay on top of their Moselle Open predictions. For that reason, I’m going early with my Moselle Open predictions.

There are several clashes slated for Tuesday, November 7, some of which offer excellent value. The Round of 32 serves up lots of exciting matchups, and I’ve decided to focus on three standout contests.

Can Abdellah Shelbayh upset the odds against Hugo Gaston? Will Daniel Altmaier get the better of Mate Valkusz? Could Fabio Fognini overcome Thiago Seyboth Wild? Here are my Moselle Open predictions for Tuesday.

Abdellah Shelbayh vs. Hugo Gaston Prediction

Odds: Abdellah Shelbayh (+200); Hugo Gaston (-264)

Abdellah Shelbayh has already played a couple of qualifying matches to reach this stage. After defeating Dan Added on Saturday, the 19-year-old Jordanian secured a shock victory over Gijs Brouwer on Sunday.

As for Hugo Gaston, he hasn’t had much luck in 2023. Not only has the Frenchman struggled to make an impact on Grand Slam tournaments and ATP Masters 1000 events, but he has also flattered to deceive in lower-profile tournaments.

With that in mind, I recommend backing Shelbayh to reach the last 16. The up-and-coming teenager will be brimming with belief after qualifying for the tournament, so I can see him upsetting the odds on Tuesday.

Best Bet: Abdellah Shelbayh (+200)

Daniel Altmaier vs. Mate Valkusz Prediction

Odds: Daniel Altmaier (-350); Mate Valkusz (+275)

While Daniel Altmaier is priced at +2800 to win the 2023 Moselle Open, Mate Valkusz is priced at +12500. That tells you everything you need to know about the gulf in quality between these two players.

Earlier this year, Altmaier made it to the third round of the French Open before reaching the quarterfinals of the Madrid Open. On top of that, he won the Sarasota Open back in April, defeating Daniel Elahi Galan in the final.

It is worth noting, however, that Valkusz overcame Hugo Grenier and Calvin Hemery in the Moselle Open qualifiers. The Hungarian also triumphed at the Macedonian Open in May, so he won’t go down without a fight.

Thiago Seyboth Wild vs. Fabio Fognini Prediction

Odds: Thiago Seyboth Wild (-154); Fabio Fognini (+120)

Thiago Seyboth Wild has won an impressive four ATP Challenger titles this year, triumphing in Chile, Argentina and twice in Italy. Funnily enough, the Brazilian defeated Fabio Fognini 6-2, 7-6 to win the AON Open Challenger in September.

At 36, Fognini is undoubtedly past his best. That said, the veteran Italian still has enough quality to cause an upset in Metz. Having competed at the top level for the best part of two decades, you’d be foolish to write off Fognini.

The bookies believe that Seyboth Wild will prevail on Tuesday, but Fognini will likely push the 23-year-old Brazilian all the way. Accordingly, I recommend signing in to access my pick for Seyboth Wild vs. Fognini.

Lock In Your 2023 Moselle Open Predictions

Well, my 2023 Moselle Open predictions for Tuesday are in the books. The tournament is missing several high-profile players, but I think that makes things a lot more interesting from a betting perspective.

With Holger Rune and Casper Ruud out of the equation, some of the ATP Tour’s fringe players stand an excellent chance of securing the silverware in Metz. Hopefully, they can help us make a tasty profit, too!

I will be back with more tennis picks and betting advice in the not-too-distant future. Until then, all you need to do is lock in your Moselle Open predictions and enjoy the action.
