On Saturday, December 2, the participating teams will learn their fate. The Euro 2024 draw will determine the groups for the tournament, giving bettors a clearer idea of what might happen in Germany.

  • When: Saturday, December 2, 2023
  • Where: Elbphilharmonie, Hamburg, Germany
  • Teams: 24 (21 Confirmed; 3 TBC)

The UEFA Euro 2024 draw is set to take place at Hamburg’s Elbphilharmonie on Saturday, December 2. Since Germany is the tournament’s host nation, the Euro 2024 draw will occur in one of the country’s biggest cities.

Teams have been placed into one of four pots based on their results during the qualifying campaign. Pot 1 contains the top teams as well as Germany, while Pot 4 contains the lowest-ranked teams according to qualification results.

POTS FOR THE EURO 2024 DRAW

  • Pot 1: Germany, Portugal, France, Spain, Belgium, England
  • Pot 2: Hungary, Turkey, Romania, Denmark, Albania, Austria
  • Pot 3: Netherlands, Scotland, Croatia, Slovenia, Slovakia, Czechia
  • Pot 4: Italy, Serbia, Switzerland, Playoff Winner A, Playoff Winner B, Playoff Winner C

The 24 teams will be drawn into six groups of four. As you can see, 21 teams have punched their ticket to the European Championship, while three berths will be filled by the playoff winners. Let’s take a closer look at the playoffs.

When Are the Euro 2024 Qualifying Playoffs?

The qualifying playoffs will determine the final three teams that will feature at Euro 2024. 12 teams will participate in the playoffs based on their performance during the 2022-23 UEFA Nations League, giving them a second chance to qualify.

Each path has two semifinals, and the winning semifinalists will compete in the playoff finals. You can find all the fixtures below, along with the potential routes to the main event.

EURO 2024 QUALIFYING PLAYOFFS

  • Path A: Wales vs. Finland/Poland vs. Estonia
  • Path B: Bosnia & Herzegovina vs. Ukraine/ Israel vs. Iceland
  • Path C: Georgia vs. Luxembourg/Greece vs. Kazakhstan

The semifinals are scheduled to take place on March 21, with the finals slated for March 26, meaning the Euro 2024 draw will be completed in a few months. As it stands, the bookies have not released odds for the qualifying playoffs.

Italy is the defending champion, but Gli Azzuri will likely face a tough group following a below-par qualifying campaign. Since the Italians find themselves in Pot 4 for the Euro 2024 draw, they could form a potential group of death alongside France, Denmark and the Netherlands.
