With the 2023 Cricket World Cup heating up, it’s time for fans and bettors to lock in their India vs. Pakistan prediction.

The fierce rivals will renew hostilities at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium on Saturday, October 14. Before that, New Zealand takes on Bangladesh, with England meeting Afghanistan on Sunday.

Not only do I share my India vs. Pakistan prediction in this article, but I also share my predictions for the other Cricket World Cup matches taking place this weekend. Ready? Let’s go!

What’s Happened at the Cricket World Cup So Far?

The 2023 Cricket World Cup started last Thursday, October 5. The curtain-raiser was a repeat of the 2019 final between New Zealand and England, although the Kiwis thrashed the defending champions by nine wickets to gain their revenge.

Nine matches have been played so far, with New Zealand, India, and Pakistan each going two for two. On the flip side, the Netherlands, Afghanistan, and Sri Lanka are at the bottom of the standing following back-to-back defeats.

After losing to New Zealand, England bounced back with a 137-run victory over Bangladesh on Tuesday. The reigning champs will be confident of securing successive wins this weekend, with struggling Afghanistan up next.

Now that you’re up to speed on what’s happened so far, it’s time for me to provide my India vs. Pakistan prediction. You will also find my New Zealand vs. Bangladesh and England vs. Afghanistan predictions below.

Cricket World Cup India vs. Pakistan Prediction

Odds: India (-250); Pakistan (+175)

Not only is the India-Pakistan rivalry the biggest rivalry in world cricket, but it is also one of the biggest sports rivalries on the planet. Due to the tense off-field relations between the two nations, the teams invariably serve up drama on the pitch.

It’s fair to say that both sides have made a solid start to the 2023 Cricket World Cup. Boasting 100% records after two matches, India sits second with a +1.500 NRR, while Pakistan sits third with a +0.927 NRR.

The hosts kicked off their campaign with a six-wicket victory over Australia before thrashing Afghanistan by eight wickets. KL Rahul (97*) was the star of the show against the Aussies, while Rohit Sharma (131) dominated last time out.

As for Pakistan, they began with an 81-run victory over the Netherlands before defeating Sri Lanka by six wickets. Saud Shakeel and Muhammad Rizwan both scored 68 with the ball against the Dutch, with Rizwan smashing 131* against the Sri Lankans.

I’m backing India to claim the bragging rights this time around. Yes, Pakistan has started the tournament in strong form, but the Men in Blue should have enough firepower to overcome the Men in Green in front of a vibrant home crowd in Ahmedabad.

Best Bet: India (-250)

More 2023 Cricket World Cup Predictions

My India vs. Pakistan prediction is in the books, but I’ve not finished it just yet. With a further two matches on the schedule this weekend, I want to share some more Cricket World Cup predictions with you.

The first match takes place on Friday, with New Zealand meeting Bangladesh at Chennai’s Chepauk Stadium. On Sunday, England and Afghanistan will do battle at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

Can the Kiwis maintain their lead at the summit of the standings? Will England secure back-to-back victories? Or could the underdogs upset the odds this weekend? Read on to discover the answers to those questions.

New Zealand vs. Bangladesh Prediction

Odds: New Zealand (-334); Bangladesh (+225)

New Zealand could not have wished for a better start to the 2023 Cricket World Cup. Thanks to unbeaten centuries from Devon Conway (152*) and Rachin Ravindra (123*), the Blackcaps made light work of England in their opener.

The Kiwis backed up that victory by defeating the Netherlands by 99 runs last time out, with Mitchell Santner taking five wickets. All of a sudden, New Zealand looks like a genuine contender to go all the way in India.

That said, Bangladesh will hopefully cause an upset on Friday. With superstars like Shakib Al Hasan and Mustafizur Raham in their ranks, the Tigers have the potential to upset the odds against the 2019 runner-up, so write them off at your peril.

England vs. Afghanistan Prediction

Odds: England (-900); Bangladesh (+500)

As the moneyline odds suggest, England shouldn’t struggle to overcome Afghanistan. The defending champions are priced at just -900 to triumph on Sunday, while the underdogs are priced at +500. That tells you everything you need to know about this matchup.

The English were humiliated by New Zealand in their first match, but they responded in style on Tuesday, crushing Bangladesh by 137 runs. Dawid Malan scored 140 with the ball, while Reece Topley took four wickets with the ball.

Afghanistan showed some promising signs against India on Wednesday, although they still ended up suffering an eight-wicket defeat. If the underdogs are serious about troubling England, they will need Rashid Khan to be at his very best on Sunday.
