It’s the international break so it’s time to turn our attention to World Cup qualifiers predictions! Sadly, European soccer is on break for another couple of weeks.

However, don’t worry, because Sports Hub is still providing you with plenty of soccer content whilst Euro clubs have some time off. CONMEBOL qualifiers are back in action as the best South American teams go head-to-head for a spot in the 2026 World Cup.

We have five CONMEBOL fixtures coming up this week as the likes of Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay compete in their bid to reach North America in less than three years’ time. Let’s get into my World Cup qualifiers predictions.

CONMEBOL Recap & Update

My last CONMEBOL qualifiers article recapped the 2022 World Cup since they were the most recent competitive matches for South American teams. However, teams have opened their qualifying campaigns now.

We have had two rounds of qualifiers in South America so we are starting to see which nations are shaping up best ahead of the next set of qualifying games.

As expected, Brazil and Argentina currently lead the standings after winning both of their two opening qualifiers. At the other end of the table, Ecuador and Bolivia have a total of zero points thus far.

Round 1 Summary

The first round of CONMEBOL World Cup qualifiers didn’t serve up any surprises. Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina and Colombia all won, as expected. Here is the full list of results from the first matchday:

  • Brazil 5-1 Bolivia
  • Uruguay 3-1 Chile
  • Argentina 1-0 Ecuador
  • Colombia 1-0 Venezuela
  • Paraguay 0-0 Peru

As you can see, Brazil were able to record an emphatic triumph over Bolivia. It should have always been a comfortable win for Seleção as they are the second-highest ranked CONMEBOL nation in the world, compared to Bolivia who are the lowest.

Just two games saw over 2.5 goals and both teams score. However, we need to take a look at the results from Round 2 first before trying to pick out any betting trends. The rest of the results from Round 1 appear to have followed the pattern of the rankings.

Round 2 Summary

Once again, Round 2 failed to serve up any surprises in CONMEBOL World Cup qualifiers. We saw victories for Argentina and Brazil and they are the two sides to beat. Let’s take a look at the results from the second matchday:

  • Peru 0-1 Brazil
  • Chile 0-0 Colombia
  • Venezuela 1-0 Paraguay
  • Ecuador 2-1 Uruguay
  • Bolivia 0-3 Argentina

Just two games saw over 2.5 goals during Round 2, whilst just one match had both teams score. Perhaps the unders could be a market to target in World Cup qualifiers predictions. Ecuador picked up their first three points of the campaign with a 2-1 home win over Uruguay. However, their total points tally still sits at zero as they started with a three-point deduction.

Peru put in a solid performance as Brazil recorded a narrow 1-0 triumph thanks to a late goal from Marquinhos. Bolivia were put to the sword once more, this time by world champs Argentina.

Colombia could be an underdog for success since they remain unbeaten. They appear to be a good team to target in unders as they saw just one goal go in over their opening two outings and are yet to concede thus far.

CONMEBOL Qualifiers – Betting Trends

So, now that we are all caught up with the results, we are now ready to start identifying some betting trends. That should help me pick out some solid picks for my World Cup qualifiers predictions. Here’s a list of some of the top statistics through the first two round of games:

  • Brazil and Argentina have 100% records
  • Bolivia are the only team to have lost both of their games
  • Bolivia, Chile, Peru and Paraguay are all winless
  • Colombia are undefeated, alongside Brazil and Argentina
  • Brazil are the top goal scorers so far (6)
  • Paraguay and Peru are the lowest scorers (0)
  • Argentina and Colombia are yet to concede
  • Bolivia have conceded the most goals in qualifiers at the moment (8)

Bolivia look set to be the whipping boys of the group but they did have the toughest start after facing both Brazil and Argentina. They will be looking to get back on track with a home match against Ecuador next.

Paraguay and Peru need to get their offense up and running since they are yet to score a goal and have both picked up just one point so far. However, their defenses have been pretty good as they have let in just one goal each.

CONMEBOL FIFA 2026 World Cup Qualifiers Predictions

The round-up of all the results is in for CONMEBOL qualifiers. We now have a better idea on how teams are going to perform in the rest of the matches coming up. Of course, that can always change, especially since international matches are so far apart.

A good tip to follow before placing bets on international matches is to check the squad lists for the upcoming games. Head coaches may sometimes leave out top players if they need a rest and some players may have picked up injuries whilst playing for their clubs.

I’m ready to get into my picks now. After the recap, I feel confident about my selections. It’s time for CONMEBOL World Cup qualifiers predictions!

CONMEBOL World Cup Qualifiers Predictions – Argentina vs Paraguay

Looking to make it three wins from three to start their qualifying campaign, Argentina head back to Buenos Aires as they take on Paraguay at Estadio Monumental. Here are the current odds for the match as we get into the first pick of my World Cup qualifiers predictions:

  • Argentina (-400)
  • Draw (+660)
  • Paraguay (+1000)

It’s not a shock that the world champions are heavy favorites to triumph in this one. They have won every single one of their six matches since the World Cup, including friendlies, and haven’t conceded a goal either.

As for Paraguay, they have failed to win either of their first two matches in qualifying and haven’t scored yet as well. They drew 0-0 at home to Peru in their first game, despite the visitors being down to ten for the second half. La Albirroja then lost 1-0 away to Venezuela last time out.

Odds on the money line for an Argentina win are too short. However, with a handicap of just 1 ½, I am backing La Albiceleste to win by at least two goals. Their defense should remain intact, whilst they also have the firepower to score more than one too.

Best Bet: Argentina -1 ½ (-122)

CONMEBOL World Cup Qualifiers Predictions – Chile vs Peru

Next up for my World Cup qualifiers predictions sees Chile welcome Peru to Santiago. Take a look at the latest odds for the game below:

  • Chile (-137)
  • Draw (+253)
  • Peru (+357)

Chile and Peru are two CONMEBOL nations yet to find a win during qualifiers so far. They both have just one point on the board after drawing with Colombia and Paraguay respectively.

It is the hosts who are the favorites to win this one and they haven’t suffered a defeat on their own turf over their past four outings. Peru were unfortunate to lose at home to Brazil in their last match since the away side snatched a late winner.

It should be a closer game than the odds suggest between Chile and Peru. I am avoiding the money line in this one but I have found another market target.

CONMEBOL World Cup Qualifiers Predictions – Colombia vs Uruguay

Colombia take on Uruguay at Estadio Metropolitano, Barranquilla this week in the final selection for my World Cup qualifiers predictions. Check out the current odds for the match:

  • Colombia (+102)
  • Draw (+224)
  • Uruguay (+258)

The two nations have both made pretty decent starts to the qualifiers. The hosts remain unbeaten after defeating Venezuela 1-0 at home and drawing 0-0 away to Chile. Their defense has proven to be excellent.

Uruguay began in excellent fashion with a comfortable 3-1 win at home to Chile but ended up losing 2-1 away to Ecuador in their last match. It could be a tough one to call, despite Colombia being the favorites.

The last match between the two teams finished in a 0-0 draw back in 2021. Sign in to Sports Hub to find out what pick I have made for this match.
