There are four games on the Canadian Football League schedule this week and we have CFL Week 7 picks for every match-up. The action will get underway tonight with the Blue Bombers hosting the Elks.

Edmonton will need a miracle to win tonight. The Battle of the QEW returns on Friday night. The Lions will host the Roughriders on Saturday and the Stampeders host the Redblacks on Sunday.

CFL Week 6 Results and Betting Recap

Here are the CFL Week 6 results:

  • Tiger-Cats 37 vs. Elks 29 – Tiger-Cats (PK) Covered ATS and Over 42.5
  • Argonauts 35 vs. Alouettes 27 – Argonauts (-6) Covered ATS and Over 48.5
  • Blue Bombers 28 vs. Redblacks 31 – Redblacks (+9.5) Covered ATS and Over 44
  • Stampeders 33 vs. Roughriders 31 – Stampeders (+1) Covered ATS and Over 44.5

Underdogs ended up going 2-1 (2-1 ATS) in Week 6. Favorites are now 12-10 (12-10 ATS) this season. After a low-scoring Week 5, all four games went over the total in Week 6. The over/under record for the season is at 11-12. I ended up going 2-2 (-$20) for the second consecutive week. Click here to see my analysis from last week. Iā€™m 13-9 (+$365) now this season. Letā€™s see if we can go undefeated with my CFL Week 7 picks.

Elks vs. Blue Bombers Prediction for Week 7

  • When: Thursday, July 20th 2023 at 8:30 PM ET
  • Where: IG Field in Winnipeg, Manitoba
  • Opening Spread: Blue Bombers -16.5 / Current Spread: Blue Bombers -14.5
  • Opening Total: 45.5 Points / Current Spread: 45 Points

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers (4-2 / 4-2 ATS) are the biggest favorite of the season. After collapsing in the 2nd half last week and losing in overtime to Ottawa, itā€™s tough to trust Winnipeg to cover this huge spread.

If thereā€™s one team I trust even less, itā€™s the Edmonton Elks (0-6 / 0-6 ATS). The QB carousel continued in Edmonton last week, as Taylor Cornelius was pulled in the 2nd half for Jarret Doege. Winnipeg come into this game scoring 27.0 PPG (3rd) and allowing 22.2 PPG (T3), while the Elks are scoring 15.2 PPG (9th) and allowing 26.2 PPG (8th). Zach Collaros leads the CFL in passing yards (1,615) and passing TDs (11).

Edmonton (245.8 PYPG Allowed – 2nd) and Winnipeg (251.3 PYPG Allowed – 3rd) are both tough against the pass. The CFLā€™s leading rusher, Brady Oliveira, should have another big game against the Elks weak rushing defense (147.5 RYPG Allowed – 9th). Winnipeg went 2-0 (2-0 ATS) against the Elks last season.

Best Bet: Under 45 Points

Argonauts vs. Tiger-Cats Prediction for Week 7

  • When: Friday, July 21st 2023 at 7:30 PM ET
  • Where: Tim Hortons Field in Hamilton, Ontario
  • Opening Spread: Argonauts -7 / Current Spread: Argonauts -8
  • Opening Total: 50.5 Points / Current Total: 49.5 Points

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats (2-3 / 2-3 ATS) have won two consecutive games. However, they previously lost to the Toronto Argonauts (4-0 / 4-0 ATS) in Week 2 (Argos won 32-14). With QBs Bo Levi Mitchell and Matthew Shiltz injured, Taylor Powell will make his first CFL start for the Tiger-Cats tomorrow night.

Toronto are scoring 38.8 PPG (1st) and allowing 24.0 PPG (5th). The Argos offense ranks 1st in rushing yards (134.0 RYPG) and 4th in passing yards (275.5 PYPG). Toronto also rank 1st in sacks allowed (4) and turnovers made (5). Hamilton are scoring 23.0 PPG (5th) and allowing 30.8 PPG (9th).

Dating back to last season, Toronto are 4-1 (4-1 ATS) against the Ti-Cats. Powell will have his hands full on Friday night, as the Argos defense has 11 interceptions (1st). Hamiltonā€™s defense allows 116.4 RYPG (8th). Is this a perfect letdown spot for Toronto? Sign-up to Sports Hub to get all of my CFL Week 7 picks.

Roughriders vs. Lions Prediction for Week 7

  • When: Saturday, July 22nd 2023 at 7:00 PM ET
  • Where: BC Place in Vancouver, British Columbia
  • Opening Spread: Lions -8.5 / Current Spread: Lions -10
  • Opening Total: 45.5 Points / Current Total: 45.5 Points

The Saskatchewan Roughriders (3-2 / 3-2 ATS) are in trouble, as Trevor Harris is out indefinitely with a knee injury. Mason Fine will start this week. He went 6/8 for 116 yards and 2 TDs in relief duty last week.

The injury to Harris is why the BC Lions (4-1 / 4-1 ATS) are such big favorites. BC are scoring 27.2 PPG (2nd) and allowing 17.0 PPG (1st), while the Roughriders are scoring 23.2 PPG (4th) and allowing 25.6 PPG (7th). The Lions rank 1st in passing yards (308.0 PYPG) and 2nd in passing TDs (9).

Vernon Adams Jr. should have a big game against the Riders pass defense (265.4 PYPG Allowed – 5th). The Lions WR Dominique Rhymes leads the CFL in receiving TDs (5). In three H2H games last season, BC went 2-1 (2-1 ATS) and none of the games went over the total (2 unders and 1 push).

BC have won by 10+ points in each of their four wins this season. Will that trend continue? See what all our handicappers think with their football picks.

Redblacks vs. Stampeders Prediction for Week 7

  • When: Sunday, July 23rd 2023 at 7:00 PM ET
  • Where: McMahon Stadium in Calgary, Alberta
  • Opening Spread: Stampeders -4 / Current Spread: Stampeders -4.5
  • Opening Total: 44 Points / Current Total: 45 Points

The final game on the Canadian Football League schedule for week 7 features the Calgary Stampeders (2-3 / 2-3 ATS) and Ottawa Redblacks (2-3 / 2-3 ATS). This is the most intriguing match-up.

Calgaryā€™s offense had their best game of the season last week. Jake Maier went 26/37 for 315 yards, 2 TDs and 1 INT. Dustin Crum made his first CFL start last week. Crum went 26/42 for 261 yards, 0 TDs and 1 INT. He also led the Redblacks in rushing yards (103) and rushing TDs (2) on just nine carries.

Ottawa are scoring 19.4 PPG (8th) and allowing 20.2 PPG (2nd). Calgary are scoring 22.2 PPG (6th) and allowing 24.8 PPG (6th). The Stamps defeated the Redblacks in Week 2 (26-15), but the Redblacks have been much better offensively with Crum. Since 2021, Calgary are 3-0 (3-0 ATS) against Ottawa.

This was the toughest game to predict for my CFL Week 7 picks.

CFL Week 7 Picks – Touchdown Scorers

One of the most popular CFL props betting markets is betting on touchdown scorers. Iā€™m betting on the Lions WR Rhymes to score an anytime touchdown against the Roughriders. The Lions are coming off a bye week and have had extra time to develop a plan to attack the Riders weak passing defense.

Rhymes has scored a touchdown in three of the four games he has played in this season.

Best Bet: Dominique Rhymes to Score Anytime TD (-125)

CFL Week 7 Picks – Player Props

My best CFL week 7 player props pick is on Crum to rush for over 73.5 yards. Crum rushed for 91 yards on six carries in a little over a half of football against the Ti-Cats in Week 5. He followed that up with 103 rushing yards on nine carries last week against the Bombers. The Stamps allow 107.8 RYPG (7th). They rank 4th in sacks made (16), so they should get some pressure and force Crum to run the football.

Best Bet: Dustin Crum Over 73.5 Rushing Yards (-105)
