Lions vs. Blue Bombers Prediction for Week 3

When: Thursday, June 22nd, 2023 at 8:30 PM ET

Where: IG Field in Winnipeg, Manitoba

Opening Spread: Blue Bombers -6 / Current Spread: Blue Bombers -6

Opening Total: 49 Points / Current Total: 49 Points

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers (2-0 / 2-0 ATS) host the BC Lions (2-0 / 2-0 ATS) tonight. The Blue Bombers have scored 40+ points in both wins and are averaging 43.5 PPG (1st). Winnipeg are allowing 29.0 PPG (T7). BC rank #1 in points allowed (7.5 PPG) and #3 in points scored (23.5 PPG).

Since the start of the 2021 season, the Bombers are 16-1 at home. In that same timeframe, Winnipeg are 5-1 (5-1 ATS) H2H against the Lions, including 3-0 (3-0 ATS) at home. Vernon Adams Jr. is off to a great start at QB for BC, but he’ll be without his #1 WR Dominique Rhymes due to a foot injury.

Winnipeg will be motivated to win and remain 1st place in the CFL West Division.

Best Bet: Blue Bombers -6

Alouettes vs. Tiger-Cats Prediction for Week 3

When: Friday, June 23rd, 2023 at 7:30 PM ET

Where: Tim Hortons Field in Hamilton, Ontario

Opening Spread: Tiger-Cats -3 / Current Spread: Tiger-Cats -2.5

Opening Total: 44 Points / Current Total: 44 Points

The Montreal Alouettes (1-0 / 1-0 ATS) are coming off a bye week. The Hamilton Tiger-Cats (0-2 / 0-2 ATS) have been dealt two losses to start the season and need to start winning.

Montreal defeated Ottawa in Week 1 (19-12), but they only scored one touchdown. QB Cody Fajardo had a rushing TD and went 14/21 for 261 yards in the win, but the Als settled for four field goals. Hamilton will be starting QB Matthew Shiltz, as Bo Levi Mitchell is out with a left quadriceps injury.

Shiltz went 13/14 for 118 yards and 1 TD in relief duty against the Argos last week. Both of the Tiger-Cats losses have been on the road where they typically struggle. Since the start of the 2021 season, Hamilton are 5-13 on the road, but they’re 11-5 at home. In H2H games, the home team is on a 5-0 (5-0 ATS) run.

The Alouettes are rested and the Ti-Cats are desperate. I expect a very close game.

Roughriders vs. Stampeders Prediction for Week 3

When: Saturday, June 24th, 2023 at 7:00 PM ET

Where: McMahon Stadium in Calgary, Alberta

Opening Spread: Stampeders -4 / Current Spread: Stampeders -3.5

Opening Total: 45.5 Points / Current Total: 45.5 Points

The Saskatchewan Roughriders (1-1 / 1-1 ATS) travel to Alberta to play the Calgary Stampeders (1-1 / 1-1 ATS) this weekend. The Stampeders are scoring 20.5 PPG (6th) and allowing 20.0 PPG (5th), while the Roughriders are scoring 22.0 PPG (5th) and allowing 29.0 PPG (T7).

Calgary’s offense looked much better in Week 2. QB Jake Maier went 22/33 for 332 yards, 1 TD and 1 INT. They also rushed for 110 yards and 2 TDs. Saskatchewan’s QB Trevor Harris ranks 3rd in passing yards (592) and 2nd in passing TDs (4). The Riders have three WRs ranked in the top 15 in receiving yards. The Stampeders went 2-0 (2-0 ATS) in H2H games against the Roughriders last season.

Saskatchewan rank #2 in sacks made (6) and will need to pressure Maier. Calgary are 8-9 at home since the start of the 2021 season, including 0-1 this season. The Stampeders rank 1st in turnovers forced (7) and T1 in turnover margin (+4). Who will win? Sign-up to get all of our CFL Week 3 picks.

Argonauts vs. Elks Prediction for Week 3

When: Sunday, June 25th, 2023 at 7:00 PM ET

Where: Commonwealth Stadium in Edmonton, Alberta

Opening Spread: Argonauts -6.5 / Current Spread: Argonauts -6.5

Opening Total: 44.5 Points / Current Total: 44.5 Points

The Edmonton Elks (0-2 / 0-2 ATS) were shutout in Week 2 for the first time since 1976. Edmonton have lost 18 consecutive home games. The Toronto Argonauts (1-0 / 1-0 ATS) come into town this weekend.

These two teams don’t play H2H very often. In 2021, the Elks won the lone H2H game (13-7) on the road. Last season, these two met at Commonwealth Stadium and the Argos won (28-23), but they didn’t cover the -6 point spread. However, Toronto looked good in their season opener last week.

Argos QB Chad Kelly went 14/23 for 238 yards, 0 TDs and 0 INTs. He’ll need to improve those numbers, but he also had 5 carries for 28 yards and 3 TDs. Having a QB like Kelly that isn’t afraid to tuck the ball and run when near the endzone is beneficial and will help the Argos red zone offense.

Will the Elks be able to get into the win column?
