We have CFL Week 20 predictions for the three games on the slate. There are three games this week on the Canadian Football League schedule. The Alouettes, Tiger-Cats and Redblacks aren’t playing.

I’ll look to close out the regular season strong with my canadian football predictions.

CFL Week 19 Results and Betting Recap

Here are the results from CFL Week 19:

  • Lions (33) vs. Tiger-Cats (30): Tiger-Cats (+3.5) Covered ATS and Over 49.5
  • Roughriders (19) vs. Stampeders (26): Stampeders (-3.5) Covered ATS and Under 49.5
  • Alouettes (35) vs. Elks (21): Alouettes (-1) Covered ATS and Over 47.5
  • Redblacks (27) vs. Argonauts (40): Argonauts (-8.5) Covered ATS and Over 49

Favorites went 4-0 (3-1 ATS) in CFL Week 19 action and are 49-25 (37-35-2 ATS) this season. Three of four games went over in Week 19 and the over/under record this season is 41-34. I ended up going 3-1 (+$190) last week and my CFL record this season is now at 42-29 (+$1060).

Let’s keep the profits rolling with my CFL Week 20 predictions.

Stampeders vs. Lions Prediction

  • When: Friday, October 20th 2023 at 10:00 PM ET
  • Where: BC Place in Vancouver, British Columbia
  • Opening Spread: Lions -8.5 / Current Spread: Lions -8.5
  • Opening Total: 49.5 Points / Current Total: 50 Points

The BC Lions (12-5 / 8-8-1 ATS) host the Calgary Stampeders (5-11 / 6-9-1 ATS). The Lions still have a chance to win the West and the Stampeders still have a chance to make the CFL playoffs.

BC are scoring 28.2 PPG (3rd) and allowing 23.4 PPG (4th). The Lions rank first in passing yards (319.5 PYPG), but the Stampeders only allow 237.3 PYPG (2nd). Calgary’s problem has been the offense. The Stamps offense is averaging 251.5 PYPG (7th), 91.4 RYPG (7th) and 22.4 PPG (7th).

Calgary have protected the football, as they’ve only committed 28 turnovers (2nd). The Lions are 2-0 (2-0 ATS) against the Stampeders this season. Calgary haven’t been able to put up points against the Lions. They lost the first H2H game by ten points (25-15) and were blown out in the second game (37-9).

The Lions are 6-2 at home, but just 3-4-1 ATS. This is a big spread to cover, but Vernon Adams Jr. leads the CFL in passing yards (4,653) and ranks second in passing TDs (31). Calgary will struggle to keep up.

Best Bet: BC Lions -8.5 (-110)

Argonauts vs. Roughriders Prediction

  • When: Saturday, October 21st 2023 at 4:00 PM ET
  • Where: Mosaic Stadium in Regina, Saskatchewan
  • Opening Spread: Argonauts -9.5 / Current Spread: Argonauts -9.5
  • Opening Total: 50.5 Points / Current Total: 50.5 Points

This is a meaningless game for the Toronto Argonauts (14-2 / 12-4 ATS), but so was last week and they put up 40 points on the Redblacks. The Saskatchewan Roughriders (6-11 / 7-9-1 ATS) are desperate to win, as they’re on a six-game losing streak and at risk of missing out on the CFL playoffs.

Toronto’s offense averages 262.8 PYPG (5th), 113.5 RYPG (4th) and 33.4 PPG (1st). A big reason the Argos score so much is because of defense and special teams. Toronto lead the CFL in touchdowns on kick returns (4) and they also lead the league in forced turnovers (46) this season.

The Roughriders average 271.6 PYPG (4th), 87.2 RYPG (8th) and 21.2 PPG (8th) on offense. Toronto rank first against the run (84.0 RYPG), but they’re beatable through the air (291.3 PYPG – 8th).

In the first H2H game this season, the Argos crushed the Riders at home (31-13). One concern here is the Argos will rest players or the starters won’t play the full game.

Elks vs. Blue Bombers Prediction

  • When: Saturday, October 21st 2023 at 7:00 PM ET
  • Where: IG Field in Winnipeg, Manitoba
  • Opening Spread: Blue Bombers -11.5 / Current Spread: Blue Bombers -11
  • Opening Total: 50.5 Points / Current Total: 50 Points

The Edmonton Elks (5-12 / 7-9-1 ATS) are on a three-game losing streak. The Winnipeg Blue Bombers (12-4 / 9-7 ATS) are coming off a bye week and will want to win this matchup to remain first in the West.

Winnipeg’s offense averages 296.1 PYPG (2nd), 136.0 RYPG (1st) and 32.1 PPG (2nd). The Bombers arguably have the best offense in the CFL. Zach Collaros leads the CFL in passing TDs (32) and ranks second in passing yards (4,127). Brady Oliveira leads the CFL in rushing yards (1,426).

Edmonton are allowing 253.6 PYPG (4th), 135.5 RYPG (9th) and 27.8 PPG (7th). The Bombers will be able to run the football all over this defense. Winnipeg’s defense also ranks first against the pass (232.6 PYPG) and third against the run (90.4 RYPG), so the Elks will likely struggle to move the football.

Looking at the H2H season series, the Bombers are 2-0, but 0-2 ATS. They failed to cover the -15 spread in the first game (28-14) and the -13 spread in the second game (38-29). The over/under is split (1-1).

CFL Week 20 Predictions – Touchdown Scorers

I’m betting on Reggie Begelton to score an anytime touchdown against the Lions. The Stampeders are going to be down in this game and will need to throw the football consistently. Begelton has seen 7+ targets in each of his last five games and he has scored a touchdown in three of those games.

Best Bet: Reggie Begelton to Score a Touchdown (+125)

CFL Week 20 Predictions – Player Props

For my top CFL player prop, I’m betting on Keon Hatcher to have over 76.5 receiving yards. Hatcher has had 77+ receiving yards in eight of 14 games this season. He missed the first H2H game against Calgary, but he had nine receptions (ten targets) for 170 yards and 1 TD in Week 10 against the Stampeders. He has also had 77+ receiving yards in three of his last four games.

Best Bet: Keon Hatcher Over 76.5 Receiving Yards (-114)
