We’re your home for CFL playoff predictions for 2023. After a profitable regular season, we’ll continue to release winning CFL playoff predictions over the next three weeks, as we close out the season.

The 110th Grey Cup will be hosted at Tim Hortons Field in Hamilton, Ontario on November 19th 2023.

The inaugural Grey Cup was in 1909 and won by the University of Toronto Varsity Blues. There has been a Grey Cup almost every year since and millions of Canadian Football League fans watch the game.

The Canadian Football League (CFL) was formed in 1958 and took control of the Grey Cup.

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers were the first CFL team to win the Grey Cup. The Blue Bombers won four of the first five Grey Cup games after the CFL was formed and they have won the Grey Cup 12 times.

The Edmonton Elks have won 14 Grey Cups and the Toronto Argonauts have won 18 Grey Cups. Toronto have won the most Grey Cups. The Argos are the defending champions, having won the 2022 Grey Cup. In the Grey Cup 2022, the Argos defeated the Blue Bombers by one point (Grey Cup score was 24-23).

All nine CFL teams feature on the CFL Grey Cup winners list. The Ottawa Redblacks have won once.

Let’s take a look at the futures markets and make some CFL playoff predictions.

CFL Playoff Predictions – Grey Cup Winner

We’ll start our CFL playoff predictions by analyzing the two available futures markets.

Before the CFL playoffs begin, bettors can wager on Grey Cup winners. There are also odds for teams to make the Grey Cup, but there isn’t much value unless you’re planning on betting underdogs.

Here are the latest 2023 CFL Grey Cup odds (futures betting):

  • Toronto Argonauts (+110)
  • Winnipeg Blue Bombers (+155)
  • BC Lions (+700)
  • Montreal Alouettes (+1600)
  • Hamilton Tiger-Cats (+2000)
  • Calgary Stampeders (+3500)

The Argonauts finished first in the CFL standings with a 16-2 record (13-5 ATS) this season.

The Blue Bombers won the West Division and finished second in the overall standings with a 14-4 (11-7 ATS) record. The Argonauts and Blue Bombers were the two highest-scoring teams in 2023.

There’s a lot to like about the Argonauts and getting plus money on them being Grey Cup winners seems generous. The Argos haven’t lost to an East Division team this season, so they should make the game.

Toronto are 4-0 (4-0 ATS) against the Tiger-Cats and 3-0 (2-1 ATS) against the Alouettes. Unfortunately, the Argonauts have really low odds to make the Grey Cup (-650), so there’s no value in that market.

Teams like the Blue Bombers and Lions can keep up with the Argos offensively, but the Argonauts are the most complete team. Toronto led the Canadian Football League in sacks made, sacks allowed, turnovers made, forced turnovers, punting average, kick return touchdowns and kickoff average.

With the CFL Grey Cup location in Hamilton this year, the Argos won’t need to travel far if they make it.

One of my CFL playoff predictions is on the Argonauts to win the 2023 Grey Cup.

Best Bet: Toronto Argonauts to Win the 2023 Grey Cup (+110)

Any Longshot CFL Playoff Predictions?

Are there any longshots to target for CFL playoff predictions in 2023?

The two teams to defeat the Argonauts this season are the Blue Bombers and Stampeders. Both losses were by double-digits. The final scores were 20-7 (Stampeders) and 31-21 (Blue Bombers).

In the West, the Lions host the Stampeders this week, with the winner advancing to take on Winnipeg.

The Lions are 2-1 (2-1 ATS) against the Stampeders this season. The loss was in Week 20, but it was in large part because the Lions rotated in the backups and Dane Evans threw three INTs.

Calgary were lucky to make the CFL playoffs. One of the popular CFL playoff predictions will be on the Lions advancing this week to play the Blue Bombers. Winnipeg were upset by the Lions in Week 3, but the Blue Bombers won the next two games. Winnipeg are 2-1 (2-1 ATS) against the Lions.

Winnipeg also have home field advantage and they’re 8-1 at home this season. Zach Collaros is first in passing TDs (33) and second in passing yards (4,252). Brady Oliveria is first in rushing yards (1,498).

The Blue Bombers have dominated the West recently and played in the last three CFL Grey Cup games.

Winnipeg have low odds to make the Grey Cup (-300), so that’s not worth betting, but I’m interested to see what the betting lines will be in the West Final next week. The Lions are talented and could pull off the upset. The Lions are paying +230 to make the Grey Cup, but I’m not confident in picking them.
