Bet the NBA Against the Spread

Updated:

There are two more NBA play-in games tonight and bettors have some great opportunities to bet against the spread. Miami plays at Philadelphia in tonight’s first game followed by Atlanta at Chicago in the second. The Sixers are favored to beat the Heat with the line set at 5.5. With a number like that, it’s likely that our expert handicappers are considering betting on tonight’s game against the spread.

The Bulls are favored by three points over the Hawks. That opens the door for another bet against the spread in that game. The loser of that game will go home for the season. The winner of the Hawks-Bulls game will play the loser of the Heat-Sixers game for a chance to become the No. 8 seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs. The winner of the Miami-Philadelphia game tonight will become the No. 7 seed and face the New York Knicks in Round 1.

Sports Hub Helps You Bet Against the Spread

Betting NBA games against the spread is a great way to add to your bankroll, but you do have to know what you’re doing. You also should have a plan. Part of that plan should include remembering that you will not win all of your bets. There is no such thing as a sure thing when it comes to sports betting. However, consistently winning bets against the spread can put you on the money train.

One of the easiest things betters can do is to join Sports Hub and utilize the services of the best sports handicappers in the world. We have a collection of handicappers that have proven track records of winning over long periods of time. Our picks database is searchable too, which will allow you to easily find our top NBA cappers.

In the picks database, you can search the following: basketball, NBA, spread, 90 days. Those search parameters will give you Al Grant, an exclusive NBA capper here at Sports Hub, who has won 57.64 percent of his 203 NBA picks against the spread over the last three months.

Uncle Sal Heads Up Daily Leaderboard

Our favorite Uncle, Sal Lombardi, is back and he’s beating up the books once again. Sal was our top capper yesterday, leading five total Sports Hub handicappers in the Daily Top 5. Two of our cappers nailed two NBA picks last night. One of those wins was a bet against the spread.

Let’s take a look at yesterday’s body of work from our top cappers.

  • Back to school: Sal Lombardi is as old-school as they get. Yesterday, he put his old-school skills to work hitting on 10 of his 16 picks, a few of which were against the spread. That earned Sal $385, which gives Sal $800 in profits over the last three days.
  • Knup, Knup, and away: Knup Sports had a great day hitting on 12 of 19 picks. Knup finished the day up $353. That makes Knup Sports our No. 1 handicapper over the last three days with $800 in winnings.
  • Taylor made for wins: William Taylor is another hot Sports Hub capper right now. William went 3-0 yesterday and picked two moneyline underdogs to end up with $340 to the good. William is also on that 3-day leaderboard, checking in at No. 3 with $666 in profits.
  • 3 Sports Hub experts go 3-0: Seth Cohen, Dan Jones, and Ashlee Kiddell all went 3-0 and all earned $300 yesterday. All three are exclusive Sports Hub handicappers and all have track records of consistent winning. Seth ($710) and Ashlee ($532) are No. 2 and 3 on our 7-day baseball leaderboard. Ashlee is in the Top 5 on both the 3-day and 7-day leaderboards. He’s up $983 over the last week. All three cappers excel at bets against the spread.

Lakers, Kings Move On, More Play-In Action Tonight

It was a big night in the NBA with two play-in games. The Los Angeles Lakers won their game against New Orleans, beating the Pelicans for the second time in three days. LA will advance to play Denver in the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.

Sacramento beat Golden State, sending the Warriors packing for the season. The Kings will now face New Orleans with the winner becoming the No. 8 seed in the West. There is a lot of NBA action trending right now and money to be made betting against the spread.

But wait, there’s more.

  • Klay goes 0-fer: Golden State’s Klay Thompson went 0-for-10 from the floor, including 0-for-6 from three-point range last night. The Warriors shot 31.3 percent from behind the arc and got beat 118-94.
  • A minute earlier: With the score tied 1-1 late in the third period, Philadelphia Flyers head coach John Tortorella pulled his goalie. The Flyers needed to win in regulation to keep their playoff hopes alive. What Tortorella didn’t know was that Detroit had tied Montreal and he didn’t need to win in regulation. Washington scored an empty net goal that gave them the Eastern Conferences’s final playoff spot.
  • Zion goes down: New Orleans star Zion Williamson went off last night, scoring 40 points and grabbing 11 rebounds against the Lakers. The Pelicans would go on to lose the game but, more importantly, they may have lost Williamson. In the final minutes of the game, Williamson had to leave with what is thought to be an injury to his left hamstring. He is questionable for Friday’s game against the Kings.

Wednesday’s Sports Schedule

It’s a winning Wednesday for sports bettors. We’ve got a couple NBA play-in games, a full MLB schedule, and some quality international soccer. Don’t forget, the NFL draft is just eight days away and a couple of PGA Tour events start tomorrow. For now though, let’s focus on today’s schedule.

There are thousands of bet choices tonight.

  1. Meaningless: The NHL will play four meaningless games tonight. TJ Oshie’s empty net goal last night against Philadelphia gave Washington the final playoff spot in the East. All 16 spots have been decided, making tonight’s games irrelevant.
  2. Full boat: The entire MLB is in action again. San Francisco and Miami kick things off at 12:10 p.m., one of 12 afternoon games today. Cleveland is in Boston for Game 3 of their four-game set. The Guardians have won the first two. If you had bet Cleveland against the spread in those two games, you’d have two more wins.

Today’s MLB schedule
  1. NBA play-in: The Miami Heat will face Philadelphia tonight in the first of two play-in games. The Heat made the playoffs last year out of the play-in tournament. Can they do it again? The bigger question is if Joel Embiid will play for the Sixers. He did not play in the team’s regular season finale on Sunday. Chicago and Atlanta face off in the other play-in game tonight. The loser is eliminated.
  2. US Open Cup: The US’s oldest knockout soccer competition continues today with 11 matches all played in the States.
  3. World soccer: There is more UEFA Champions League action today. Bayern Munich takes on Arsenal and Manchester City hosts Real Madrid. Most of the South American pro leagues have matches tonight as well.
  4. Tennis: The second round gets underway for both the men and women competing in the following tournaments. ATP Tour: the BMX Open in Munich, the Barcelona Open, and the Tiriac Open in Bucharest. WTA Tour: the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix, the Open Capfinances Rouen Metropole in France, and the Oeiras Ladies Open in Portugal.

Bet Against the Spread Tonight

One of the great features here at Sports Hub is located in the members area. That, of course, means you need a membership to access it. Our Consensus feature gives bettors a snapshot of the action coming in on a given game. Take the Heat-Sixers game as an example.

Right now, the money is on Philadelphia in both the moneyline and against the spread markets. What is interesting to note is that there is a lot more sharp money on the Heat against the spread. Taking a look at the Consensus can often help bettors in determining their final wager.

Just a thought from your friendly Sports Hub software. Don’t forget to check the picks database. There are several picks for the NBA games tonight as well as many for the other events going on.
