Best NFL DFS Week 2 Plays

We’re back with the best NFL DFS Week 2 plays. Opening week is always the most exciting, but there is a lot of uncertainty about targets and usage. That’ll change as we accumulate more data.

Last week, Tua Tagovailoa (32.1 FPs on DK) and Tyreek Hill (47.5 FPs on DK) were the best stack. If you ran it back with Austin Ekeler (29.4 FPs on DK), you were in a great position to win big money.

Let’s jump into our NFL DFS Week 2 plays, including stacks, studs, value plays and sleepers.

Best Stacks for NFL DFS Week 2

Here are my top stacks for the NFL DFS Week 2 main slate:

  • Trevor Lawrence ($6.7K on DK / $7.8K on FD) / Calvin Ridley ($7.2K on DK / $8.3K on FD)

Lawrence went 24/32 for 241 yards, 2 TDs and 1 INT (18.74 FPs on DK/FD) in a Week 1 win against the Colts. Ridley hauled in eight of 11 targets for 101 yards and 1 TD (27.1 FPs on DK / 20.1 FPs on FD).

This week, the Jaguars host the Chiefs. KC allowed Jared Goff to throw for 253 yards in Week 1. This has a great shot at being a shootout. If the Jags are losing, Lawrence will have to air it out even more often.

  • Baker Mayfield ($5.1K on DK / $6.8K on FD) / Mike Evans ($6.2K on DK / $7.1K on FD)

Mayfield avoided any big mistakes in a Week 1 win. He went 21/34 for 173 yards and 2 TDs (16.02 FPs on DK/FD). Evans finished with six receptions (10 targets) for 66 yards and 1 TD (18.6 FPs on DK / 15.6 FPs on FD). You could pivot from Evans to Chris Godwin, but Evans will have more usage most weeks.

The Bucs host the Bears in Week 2. Chicago allowed Jordan Love to throw for 245 yards and 3 TDs in a Week 1 blowout loss. They were consistently allowing big chunks of yardage through the air.

Best Studs for NFL DFS Week 2

Here are the best studs for NFL DFS Week 2 at QB, RB, WR, TE and DST:

  • QB Justin Herbert ($7K on DK / $8.2K on FD)

Herbert went 23/33 for 228 yards and 1 TD (20.92 FPs on DK/FD) in a Week 1 loss. His day was saved by a rushing touchdown. This week, the Chargers play the Titans. Tennessee allowed Derek Carr to throw for 305 yards last week. Herbert has the weapons to have a ceiling performance in Week 2.

Potential Stack: Keenan Allen $7.1K on DK / $7.8K on FD

  • RB Christian McCaffrey ($8.9K on DK / $9.5K on FD)

McCaffrey is the most expensive RB this week on the main slate, but he’s a stud. In a Week 1 win against the Steelers, McCaffrey had 152 rushing yards (1 rushing TD) and 17 receiving yards (3 receptions). He scored 28.9 FPs on DK and 24.4 FPs on FD in Week 1. In his lone game against the Rams since joining SF, he had 94 rushing yards (1 TD) and eight receptions for 55 yards (1 TD) in Week 8 last season.

  • WR Stefon Diggs ($8K on DK / $8K on FD)

Diggs caught 10 of 13 targets for 102 yards and 1 TD (29.2 FPs on DK / 21.2 FPs on FD) on MNF in a Week 1 loss. Diggs is going to have 10+ targets on a weekly basis for the Bills. The Raiders passing defense was stout to open the season, but Diggs is matchup proof and his usage is too high to fade.

  • TE Evan Engram ($4.8K on DK / $6K on FD)

Engram performed well in Week 1, as he hauled in all five targets for 49 yards (9.9 FPs on DK / 7.4 FPs on FD). If he can post similar numbers, but find the endzone, he could be the #1 TE in Week 2. TE is a weak position currently with Travis Kelce and Mark Andrews banged up to start the NFL season.

  • DST Dallas Cowboys ($4K on DK / $4.5K on FD)

I’m not expecting the Cowboys DST to score anywhere near 37.0 FPs like they did in Week 1. However, it wouldn’t be shocking if they’re the #1 DST again this week. Dallas host the Jets who will be forced to start Zach Wilson at QB after Aaron Rodgers suffered a torn achilles (Rodgers is out for the season).

Best Value Plays for NFL DFS Week 2

Here are the best value plays for NFL DFS Week 2 at QB, RB, WR, TE and DST:

  • QB C.J. Stroud ($5.2K on DK / $6.4K on FD)

Stroud went 28/44 for 242 yards, but he had 0 TDs. He rushed four times for 20 yards and fumbled once in the Week 1 loss against Baltimore. Stroud scored 11.68 FPs on DK and 10.18 FPs on FD. This week, he gets the Colts who struggle on defense. If Stroud can throw 2+ TDs, he’ll offer excellent value.

Potential Stack: Nico Collins ($4.8K on DK / $6.2K on FD)

  • RB Tyler Allgeier ($5.5K on DK / $7.1K on FD)

Allgeier offers the best value at DK and I’d likely avoid him on FD, as the risk:reward ratio isn’t ideal. In a Week 1 win, Allgeier had 15 carries for 75 yards and 2 TDs. He also added three receptions. He scored 24.4 FPs on DK and 22.9 on FD). He had five more carries than rookie Bijan Robinson last week. The Packers allowed 122 rushing yards and 1 TD on 29 carries (4.2 yards per carry) in Week 1.

  • WR Zay Flowers ($5K on DK / $6.6K on FD)

Flowers emerged as Lamar Jackson’s top target in Week 1. Flowers led the Ravens in targets (10). He hauled in nine receptions for 78 yards (longest reception was 21 yards). J.K. Dobbins tore his achilles in Week 1, so Jackson will need to air it out more frequently. He only had 22 pass attempts last week.

  • TE Luke Musgrave ($3.2K on DK / $5K on FD)

Musgrave hauled in three of four targets for 50 yards (8.0 FPs on DK / 6.5 FPs on FD) last week. It was a good performance for the rookie, but it could have been better. Love missed a wide open Musgrave in the first half and Musgrave tripped over himself in the fourth quarter or he would have scored an easy TD. His potential is through the roof and he could be a top five TE by the end of the season.

  • DST Arizona Cardinals ($2.6K on DK / $3.8K on FD)

The Cardinals DST scored 19.0 FPs on DK/FD last week against the Commanders. The Cardinals forced three turnovers and they had six sacks in the loss. Arizona will need to lean on their defense. This week, they host the Giants who looked like the worst team in the NFL in Week 1 against the Cowboys.

Best Bargain Bin Sleepers for NFL DFS Week 2

Each week, we’ll release two bargain bin sleepers (one RB and one WR).

Here are my top plays for NFL DFS Week 2:

  • RB Joshua Kelley ($5K on DK / $6.3K on FD)

There aren’t many RBs priced below Kelley on DK. Kelley had 16 carries for 91 yards and 1 TD in Week 1 15.1 FPs on DK/FD). He had the same number of carries as Austin Ekeler last week. Ekeler is listed as questionable (ankle). If he doesn’t play, Kelley is the best RB target on a $/FPs basis.  Kelley may not be completely in the “bargain bin” based on his FD price, but his upside is undeniable if Ekeler is out.

  • WR Josh Reynolds ($3.7K on DK / $5.9K on FD)

Finding value on FD is tough, but at $5.9K, Reynolds isn’t too costly. He’s extremely cheap on DK despite being the Lions #2 WR currently. Reynolds caught four of seven targets for 80 yards (12.0 FPs on DK / 10.0 FPs on FD) in Week 1. If he can find the end zone in Week 2, he’ll easily exceed his price. Seattle allowed 334 passing yards in Week 1. This is a matchup Goff needs to take advantage of.

Honorable Mentions: Puka Nacua ($4.9K on DK / $5.8K on FD) and Tutu Atwell ($4.7K on DK and $5.5K on FD) are worth a look this week. Nacua exploded for 24.9 FPs on DK (16.89 FPs on FD) and Atwell scored 20.9 FPs on DK (14.89 FPs on FD) in Week 1. However, the Rams play the 49ers this week and it wouldn’t surprise me if Matthew Stafford struggles to exceed 200+ passing yards on Sunday.
