The 2023 Formula One season resumes this weekend following the summer break, with the drivers and teams heading to the Netherlands. Accordingly, we have some Dutch Grand Prix picks for you.

Ahead of his home Grand Prix, Max Verstappen holds a mammoth 125-point lead at the summit of the World Drivers’ Championship standings. Remarkably, the Red Bull superstar has won 10 of the 12 races this year! Can anyone stop the reigning world champ?

Before I share my Dutch Grand Prix picks with you, let’s assess the standings at the halfway point and check out the bookies’ outright odds for this weekend’s race.

Current Formula 1 Standings

Sitting 125 points clear of Sergio Perez, Max Verstappen is the runaway leader in the World Drivers’ Championship standings. The reigning champion is on course to defend his crown with ease, but the battle for second and third is wide open.

2023 WORLD DRIVERS’ CHAMPIONSHIP STANDINGS (TOP 10)

  1. Max Verstappen – 314 points
  2. Sergio Perez – 189 points
  3. Fernando Alonso – 149 points
  4. Lewis Hamilton – 148 points
  5. Charles Leclerc – 99 points
  6. George Russell – 99 points
  7. Carlos Sainz – 92 points
  8. Lando Norris – 69 points
  9. Lance Stroll – 47 points
  10. Esteban Ocon – 35 points

Perez won two of the opening four races before Verstappen chalked up a 10-race winning streak. As a result, the Mexican finds himself second in the standings.

Separated by a solitary point, Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton sit third and fourth, respectively. There are only seven points between Charles Leclerc, George Russell and Carlos Sainz, while Lando Norris, Lance Stroll and Esteban Ocon complete the top 10.

2023 Dutch Grand Prix Odds

I strongly recommend analyzing the odds before you lock in your Dutch Grand Prix picks. Of course, Max Verstappen is the out-and-out favorite, but plenty of other drivers offer excellent value, especially when you explore different markets (more on that in a second).

OUTRIGHT ODDS FOR THE 2023 DUTCH GP

  • Max Verstappen (-303)
  • Sergio Perez (+1000)
  • Lewis Hamilton (+2100)
  • Charles Leclerc (+2100)
  • Lando Norris (+2100)
  • Oscar Piastri (+3400)
  • Fernando Alonso (+3400)
  • Carlos Sainz (+4200)
  • George Russell (+4200)
  • Lance Stroll (+9900)

Having won each of the previous eight races, Verstappen (-303) enters his home Grand Prix as the bookies’ clear favorite. In accordance with the standings, Perez (+1000) is viewed as Verstappen’s biggest threat.

Hamilton (+2100), Leclerc (+2100) and Norris (+2100) round out the top five, followed by Piastri (+3400) and Alonso (+3400). In the eyes of the bookies, Sainz (+4200) and Russell (+4200) stand an outside chance of triumphing in the Netherlands, while Lance Stroll (+9900) completes the top 10.

Dutch Grand Prix Picks and Predictions

It’s time for me to share my Dutch Grand Prix picks. Now that we’re up to speed on the standings and the odds, I’m ready to lay down my Dutch Grand Prix picks and make some predictions for this weekend’s race.

The 2023 Dutch GP goes down at CM.com Circuit Zandvoort on Sunday, August 27. However, before the main event takes place, the drivers and teams will battle it out in Saturday’s qualification process.

It is worth noting that the bookies will likely change their odds after qualifying, but I recommend jumping on the early prices to get the best value. Without further ado, here are my Dutch Grand Prix picks.

Max Verstappen to Win (-303)

You probably won’t be surprised to learn that I’m backing Verstappen to win the 2023 Dutch Grand Prix. After all, the runaway leader has won each of the past eight races, meaning he has 10 race wins to his name this season.

It is also worth remembering that Verstappen has enjoyed plenty of success on home soil in recent years, winning the Dutch GP in 2021 and 2022. With the home crowd cheering him on this weekend, the Dutchman will be extremely difficult to beat.

Having produced the fastest time in the first practice session on Friday, Verstappen looks destined to notch and ninth consecutive victory on Sunday.

Sergio Perez Podium Finish (-108)

Many drivers have tried to get the better of Verstappen this year, but only one man has finished above the world champion on the podium in 2023. In fact, Perez has two race wins under his belt this year, having triumphed in Saudi Arabia and Azerbaijan.

Let’s not forget that Perez has also registered five podium finishes in addition to his two race wins, meaning the Mexican has found himself on the podium in seven of the 12 races this season.

After enjoying a strong end to the first phase of the season – registering one P2 finish and two P3 finishes in the final four races – Perez’s price of -108 to finish on the podium this weekend is too tasty to ignore.

Lewis Hamilton Top 6 Finish (-300)

There is no hiding the fact that Hamilton and Mercedes have struggled to keep pace with Verstappen and Red Bull this year. That said, the seven-time world champion has consistently finished between second and eighth place.

In fact, Hamilton has registered 11 top-six finishes in 12 races this season. The British megastar has also managed four podiums in 2023, finishing second in Australia and Spain before finishing third in Canada and England.

Granted, odds of -300 are nothing to write home about, but they still present decent value. Since Hamilton already has 11 top-six finishes to his name this year, I’m backing him to finish in the top six once again this weekend.

Keep an Eye Out for More Dutch Grand Prix Picks

With Friday’s practice sessions in full swing at the time of writing, we are still waiting for the bookies to release all their markets for Sunday’s race. However, it is only a matter of time until we have access to more betting lines.

For that reason, I suggest keeping your eyes peeled for more Dutch Grand Prix picks as the weekend unfolds. You have already had my pick for the winner, podium and top six, but you may find other Dutch Grand Prix picks at Sports Hub in the coming days.

Stay tuned for more Formula 1 picks throughout the second half of the season. With 10 races remaining, I will be back with more F1 picks in the near future.
