The group stage may be drawing to a close, but there are still lots of exciting betting opportunities to take advantage of before the semifinals get underway. In fact, that’s precisely why I’m writing this piece.

Not only will I be revealing my England vs. Pakistan prediction, but I will also be sharing a handful of Cricket World Cup predictions with you. Ready? Let’s go!

Latest Cricket World Cup News & Odds

To say that the 2023 Cricket World Cup has been captivating would be a colossal understatement. The tournament has dished up countless shocks, upsets and top-class performances – and we haven’t even reached the semifinals.

With eight consecutive victories in the bag, India sits atop the standings with one match remaining. South Africa and Australia are also guaranteed a spot in the last four, having won six of their eight clashes.

The Netherlands, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and England have all been eliminated, meaning New Zealand, Pakistan and Afghanistan will battle it out for the fourth semifinal berth.

2023 CRICKET WORLD CUP OUTRIGHT ODDS

  • India (-120)
  • Australia (+320)
  • South Africa (+400)
  • New Zealand (+900)
  • Pakistan (+2200)
  • Afghanistan (+25000)

Boasting a 100% record on home soil, India is the bookies’ favorite to lift the trophy. The Men in Blue are in pole position ahead of the semifinals, having dispatched each of their eight opponents so far.

Australia is the second favorite, while South Africa is the third favorite. As you can see, New Zealand is expected to clinch the remaining semifinal spot, although Pakistan and Afghanistan still stand an outside chance.

Now that you’re up to speed on the latest news and odds, let’s dive into my England vs. Pakistan prediction. Pakistan still has a lot to play for, but England won’t exit the tournament without a fight.

Cricket World Cup England vs. Pakistan Prediction

Odds: England (-120); Pakistan (-120)

Prior to the 2023 Cricket World Cup, England was the bookies’ second favorite to go all the way. However, following a run of below-par performances and disappointing results, the reigning champions will not defend their crown.

After losing to New Zealand in the opening match, England defeated Bangladesh, but five consecutive defeats against Afghanistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka, India and Australia ended the team’s dream of winning back-to-back titles.

That said, Pakistan has also experienced an inconsistent tournament up to now. Victories over the Netherlands, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and New Zealand have given the Shaheens confidence, but they have suffered defeats to India, Australia, Afghanistan and South Africa.

Pakistan was fortunate to taste victory last time out, as New Zealand posted 401/6 after 50 overs. Despite finishing on 200/1 after 25.3 overs, Pakistan was awarded the win via the DLS method due to rain.

Meanwhile, England thrashed the Netherlands by 160 runs on Wednesday, with Ben Stokes smashing 108 runs off 84 balls. Dawid Malan (87) and Chris Woakes (51) also impressed with the bat, reminding everyone of their ability.

As the moneyline odds suggest, Saturday’s showdown in Kolkata will likely be a close-fought battle between two strong sides. However, with all the pressure on Pakistan, I can see England coming out on top.

England vs. Pakistan Prediction & Pick: England (-120)

More Cricket World Cup Predictions for This Week

My England vs. Pakistan prediction is locked in, but I’m not finished just yet. Before England and Pakistan play their final group matches, we have a couple of intriguing clashes to enjoy.

On Friday, November 10, South Africa faces Afghanistan in Ahmedabad. There is also an early match scheduled for Saturday, November 11, with Australia taking on Bangladesh in Pune.

Could Afghanistan upset the odds against South Africa and secure a surprise spot in the last four? Will the Aussies extend their winning streak to seven matches at the expense of Bangladesh? Here are the remainder of my Cricket World Cup predictions.

South Africa vs. Afghanistan Prediction

Odds: South Africa (-350); Afghanistan (+250)

There is no hiding the fact that India has been immense on home soil, but South Africa has been the second-best team at this year’s World Cup. The Proteas have won six of their eight matches so far, meaning they have already qualified for the semifinals.

Quinton de Kock (550) is the tournament’s leading run-scorer, while Aiden Markram (371) and Rassie van der Dussen (366) are also in form with the bat. In terms of bowling, only two players have picked up more wickets than Marco Jansen (17).

That said, Afghanistan has already defeated England, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and the Netherlands. After pushing Australia all the way last time out, the underdogs will fancy their chances of upsetting the South Africans.

Australia vs. Bangladesh Prediction

Odds: Australia (-800); Bangladesh (+450)

The moneyline odds tell you everything you need to know about Australia’s superiority over Bangladesh. Having won each of their previous six matches, the Aussies will back themselves to secure a seventh straight victory on Saturday.

On Tuesday, Glenn Maxwell bludgeoned 201* runs off just 128 balls to fire his team to victory over Afghanistan. Only five players have scored more runs than Maxwell (397), and one of those players is David Warner (446).

As for Bangladesh, they suffered six successive defeats before finally returning to winning ways against Sri Lanka last time out. Needless to say, it would be a shock if the Tigers notched back-to-back victories against Australia.

What’s Your England vs. Pakistan Prediction?

With both teams priced at -120 to win Saturday’s showdown, making an England vs. Pakistan prediction is no easy task. In truth, the match could go either way, but I’m backing England to finish a below-par campaign on a high note.

The Netherlands, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and England have already been eliminated from the tournament, while India, South Africa and Australia have advanced to the semifinals. That leaves New Zealand, Pakistan and Afghanistan to compete for the fourth knockout berth.

The semifinals will take place on Wednesday, November 15, and Thursday, November 16, with the final slated for Sunday, November 19. Keep your eyes peeled for more Cricket World Cup predictions and picks in the coming days.
