There are four common options when it comes to betting on tennis, with each option comprising a range of different markets. Here are the main options, along with some examples for each one.

  • Betting on Tennis Matches – The most popular option is betting on a player to win a match. Other markets in this category include game betting, set betting, totals (over/under) and handicaps.
  • Tennis Futures Betting – Futures bets are long-term wagers that allow you to predict the winner of a tournament. Also known as outrights, these bets are typically placed at the beginning of an event.
  • Betting on Tennis Props – Proposition betting is another exciting way to wager on tennis. Props relate to the occurrence or non-occurrence of an event. For example, will Novak Djokovic serve 10 aces in the match?
  • Live Tennis Betting – The leading tennis sportsbooks enable you to place in-play bets on live matches, meaning you can predict the winner of the next game, the winner of the next set and so on.

In order to give yourself the best possible chance of making a profit, we recommend exploring all the different tennis betting options. With dozens of markets to choose from, there is no shortage of value to be found.

Novak Djokovic is the defending men’s singles champion, while Aryna Sabalenka is the defending women’s singles champion. Djokovic claimed a record-extending 10th title in 2023, with Sabalenka securing her first-ever Grand Slam triumph.

The previous men’s doubles title was won by Rinky Hijikata and Jason Kubler, while Barbora Krjcikova and Katerina Siniakova won the women’s doubles title. At this stage, however, the bookies only have odds for the upcoming men’s and women’s singles events.

Unsurprisingly, Novak Djokovic is the bookies’ favorite to win the men’s singles event at the 2024 Australian Open. Not only has the legendary Serbian won four of the last five titles, but he has also won 10 of the previous 16.

It is also worth noting that Djokovic won three of the four Grand Slam events in 2023, losing the Wimbledon final to Carlos Alcaraz. Having triumphed in England, Alcaraz is seen as Djokovic’s nearest challenger.

Daniil Medvedev and Jannik Sinner bridge the gap between the favorites and outsiders, with the iconic Rafael Nadal completing the top five. Despite his past achievements, Nadal must be viewed as a sleeper at +1600.

Another sleeper to keep an eye on is Stefanos Tsitsipas (+1800), who was the Aussie Open runner-up in 2023. If you’re looking for 2024 Australian Open betting value, look no further than Tsitsipas.
