European Open predictions are on this week’s tennis menu. The ATP 250 tournament is taking place in Antwerp over the next few days, with the men’s singles final scheduled for Sunday, October 22.

Many of the best tennis stars on the planet have flocked to Belgium, including Stefanos Tsitsipas (world #7) and Jan-Lennard Struff (world #27). However, only one player can lift the trophy this weekend.

Today, I will be sharing a variety of 2023 European Open predictions. Not only will I provide my outright winner pick, but I will also supply predictions for a handful of upcoming matches. Let’s go!

2023 European Open Preview – Odds, Favorites & Sleepers

  • Dates: October 16-22
  • Venue: Lotto Arena, Antwerp, Belgium
  • Surface: Hard (Indoor)
  • Edition: 8th
  • Category: ATP 250

The eighth edition of the European Open is being held at Lotto Arena in Antwerp, Belgium. The ATP 250 tournament is an indoor hard-court event favoring aggressive and influential players who like fast-paced matches.

Before we lock in our European Open predictions, we need to check out the latest outright odds. With prices ranging from +275 all the way up to +8000, there is no shortage of value on offer across the board.

2023 EUROPEAN OPEN – MEN’S SINGLES OUTRIGHT ODDS

  • Stefanos Tsitsipas (+275)
  • Jan-Lennard Struff (+650)
  • Arthur Fils (+750)
  • David Goffin (+800)
  • Alexander Bublik (+1000)
  • Fabian Marozsan (+1200)
  • Gregoire Barrere (+1200)
  • Botic van de Zandschulp (+1400)
  • Dominic Thiem (+1800)
  • Hugo Gaston (+1800)
  • Dominic Stricker (+2000)
  • Richard Gasquet (+2000)
  • Yannick Hanfmann (+2500)
  • Nuno Borges (+2800)
  • Alexander Shevchenko (+3300)
  • Luca Nardi (+3300)
  • Dominik Koepfer (+4000)
  • Juan Pablo Varillas (+5000)
  • Mark Lajal (+5000)
  • Roberto Carballes Baena (+8000)

As expected, Stefanos Tsitsipas (+275) is the bookies’ favorite to win the 2023 European Open. The highest-ranked player in the tournament is the only man inside the top 25 of the ATP Rankings, making him the obvious frontrunner.

Jan-Lennard Struff (+650), Arthur Fils (+750), and David Goffin (+800) are seen as Tsitsipas’ nearest challengers. In fact, they are the only other players priced under +1000.

Analyzing the Top Contenders for the Title

I will be sharing my 2023 European Open predictions shortly. First, let’s take a closer look at the top contenders to secure the silverware on Sunday.

  • Stefanos Tsitsipas (+275) – With two Grand Slam finals under his belt, Tsitsipas is undoubtedly the strongest player at this year’s tournament. The 2023 Australian Open runner-up also reached the quarterfinals of the French Open earlier this year, cementing his status as one of the top performers on the ATP Tour.
  • Jan-Lennard Struff (+650) – At 33, Struff is enjoying something of a renaissance in the twilight of his career. The experienced German made it all the way to the Madrid Open final earlier this year, only to lose against Carlos Alcaraz. On top of that, Struff suffered a narrow defeat to Frances Tiafoe in the Stuttgart Open final.

If you’re looking for greater betting value, you should also consider Fils and Goffin when it comes to finalizing your outright European Open predictions.

Potential Sleepers That Could Upset the Odds

Although Tsitsipas and Struff are the favorites, there are plenty of players who could upset the 2023 European Open odds. Here are two potential sleepers to keep an eye on.

  • Alexander Bublik (+1000) – Having claimed an impressive victory over Andrey Rublev to win the Halle Open back in June, Alexander Bublik will fancy his chances of going all the way in Antwerp. In addition to that triumph, the 26-year-old Kazakhstani reached the fourth round of the Wimbledon Championships this summer.
  • Dominic Thiem (+1800) – Dominic Thiem reached four Grand Slam finals between 2018 and 2020, winning the US Open along the way. Although the 30-year-old Austrian has struggled with injuries and form in recent times, he knows exactly what it takes to shine in high-profile tournaments and win titles.

Now that you’re up to speed on the top contenders and potential sleepers, it’s time to dive into my 2023 European Open predictions, starting with my prediction and pick for men’s singles champion.

2023 European Open Predictions – Who Will Lift the Trophy?

There are plenty of exciting players competing at this year’s European Open. Struff, Fils, and Goffin will all be hopeful of securing the silverware on Sunday, while outsiders like Bublik and Thiem will back themselves to cause an upset.

That said, it is challenging to look past Tsitsipas. The 25-year-old has established himself among the world’s best tennis players in recent years, reaching four Grand Slam semifinals and two major finals for good measure.

At the end of the day, world #7 is the bookies’ favorite for a reason. If you’re feeling brave, feel free to bet against Tsitsipas, but I’m backing the Greek superstar to lift the trophy this weekend.

Best Bet: Stefanos Tsitsipas (+275)

More European Open Predictions

I want to wrap things up with a handful of European Open predictions and picks for upcoming matches. The following clashes are scheduled for Wednesday, October 18, so be sure to check them out after you lock in your outright prediction.

WEDNESDAY’S EUROPEAN OPEN PREDICTIONS AND PICKS

At just 19, Arthur Fils is one of the most exciting young players on the ATP Tour. The Frenchman has registered several impressive results this year, so he is favored to get the better of Mark Lajal.

As I already mentioned, Struff appears to be back to his best. Although Hugo Gaston has won a couple of tournaments on clay this year, Struff could prove to be too strong for the 23-year-old Frenchman.

Finally, Nuno Borges and Dominik Koepfer look set to play out an intriguing battle. With three ATP Challenger Tour finals under his belt this year, Borges is the favorite, but Koepfer’s experience could make all the difference.

All that’s left for you to do is finalize your 2023 European Open predictions and picks and enjoy the action, of course!
