Ligue 1 Matchday 13 picks are on the agenda as the top European soccer leagues return. How have you been performing with your soccer picks this term?

Another international break ends this week. That means European soccer action from the top leagues returns this weekend. That will be the final international break until March so we have plenty of soccer action ahead.

My last Euro soccer picks saw me go 2-2-1, taking my overall record over the past three articles to 10-5-1. That means I have been in pretty good form of late and my selections are bringing in some tidy profits. Let’s hope that continues this week with my Ligue 1 Matchday 13 picks!

Euro Soccer Top Leagues – Recap

Premier League

An eight-goal thriller at Stamford Bridge between Chelsea and Manchester City leaves the Cityzens with a slim one-point advantage atop the standings. As we head into the Christmas period, we will start to see which teams will be capable of providing a sterner title challenge this season.

The news of Everton’s 10-point deduction has caused quite the stir in the Premier League. That means they now sit second from bottom, level on points with newly-promoted Burnley.

Check out Sports Hub’s Premier League Matchweek 12 Review for a full recap of what happened last time out in the English top-flight. Premier League Matchweek 13 picks will be with you this week as well so be sure to take a look at those.

Ligue 1

Ligue 1 supplied me with one successful pick last time out. I had under 2.5 goals in the Lille vs Toulouse match which came in as the game ended 1-1. France is a good league to target, especially when it comes to Unders. Check out what selections I am going for this week with my Ligue 1 Matchday 13 picks!

Paris Saint-Germain have finally returned to the top of Ligue 1, with Nice dropping points in a 0-0 draw away to Montpellier in their last match. It’s still tight at the top as third-placed Monaco sit just three points off of PSG.

Despite picking up their first win of the season last time out, Lyon remain bottom of the table. Nevertheless, the bottom half of the French top-flight continues to be close.

La Liga

My feature La Liga Matchday 13 picks were a bit of a disaster last time out. I went 0-1-1 with my picks, losing with my call on Las Palmas to defeat Osasuna on the road. That match ended 1-1. Having selected under three goals in the Barcelona vs Alaves game, the bet was pushed after it ended in a 2-1 win for the home side.

Girona have been the surprise package in La Liga so far this term, and they still occupy top spot, sitting two points ahead of giants Real Madrid. Meanwhile, Almeria are struggling at the foot of the table and are still without a league victory.

Bundesliga

Plenty of goals continue to be scored in the Bundesliga. My over three goals pick in the Bayer Leverkusen vs Union Berlin match landed as Xabi Alonso’s men recorded a comfortable 4-0 triumph. However, I was one goal off in the Stuttgart vs Borussia Dortmund game which ended 2-1. My selection had over 3.5 goals.

Leverkusen and Bayern Munich have been the clear dominant teams in the Bundesliga this season. Could Die Werkself finally end Bayern’s reign? Union Berlin’s woes continued as they lost their ninth consecutive league match, leaving them bottom of the pile.

Serie A

Victories for Inter and Juventus during the last matchday mean they continue to lead the way in Serie A. The Nerazzurri are two points clear, however, and have conceded just six goals thus far.

At the other end of the spectrum, Salernitana are struggling on five points through 12 games. Verona and Cagliari make up the rest of the bottom three. I didn’t make any selections from Serie A in my last Euro picks article. Find out below if they return this week!

Euro Soccer Top Leagues – Ligue 1 Matchday 13 Picks

Now that we have caught up with all the latest from the top Euro soccer leagues, we can now get into my picks for this week. My latest Euro soccer report highlighted handicap betting as a profitable method when making soccer picks. Let’s see if we can find any suitable matchups for this market.

I have heavily researched Ligue 1 of late and Unders are typically a very successful bet to look at. Just 25% of games during Week 12 had over 2.5 goals. Having analyzed the matchups, Ligue 1 looks to be an extremely profitable source once again this week. That is why Ligue 1 Matchday 13 picks are the feature.

However, I have also selected a couple of alternative selections. You can find those at the end of this article. But first, let’s see which picks I am going for from the French top-flight.

Ligue 1 Matchday 13 Picks – Nice vs Toulouse Prediction

Francesco Farioli’s high-flying Nice take on Toulouse at Allianz Riviera on Sunday. Take a look at the latest money line odds for the first of my Ligue 1 Matchday 13 picks below:

  • Nice (-204)
  • Draw (+300)
  • Toulouse (+520)

Betting on Nice to have under 2.5 goals in their games has landed 92% of the time this season. When looking at just their home matches, it has come in for every game. Farioli’s Les Aiglons have been defensively sound all season and have conceded the least amount of goals in the division (4). They have let in just one goal on their own turf too and drew 0-0 away to Montpellier in their last match.

Toulouse have seen just 50% of their matches have over 2.5 goals this term and that percentage decreases to 43% for away matches. They shared the points in a 1-1 draw away to Lille last time out and have scored, on average, less than a goal per game over their last five outings.

The statistics are pointing in only one direction. At a price of -116, we can find some good value in this match seeing under 2.5 goals.

Best Bet: Nice vs Toulouse Under 2.5 goals (-116)

Ligue 1 Matchday 13 Picks – Clermont vs Lens Prediction

Next up in my Ligue 1 Matchday 13 picks sees strugglers Clermont play host to a Lens side that are undefeated across their past seven league matches. Check out the money line odds for the encounter:

  • Clermont (+251)
  • Draw (+231)
  • Lens (+104)

The hosts have performed poorly thus far and currently sit second from bottom in Ligue 1. They have just nine points from 11 games. However, they have overseen an improvement of late and have lost just one of their last five matches.

As for Lens, they have bounced back following their dreadful start to the season. They were without a single victory across their opening five domestic outings but have got back to last season’s form recently. Nevertheless, their away record has still been poor and they have accumulated just five points from six games on the road.

In light of Lens’ poor away form, it is hard to back them for the victory here. Clermont have improved of late and so I am staying away from an outright prediction. Check out my handicapper page, Ashlee Kiddell, to find out what pick I am going for.

Ligue 1 Matchday 13 Picks – Paris Saint-Germain vs Monaco Prediction

The final selection of my Ligue 1 Matchday 13 picks comes from the league’s highlight fixture of the week, taking place on Friday. Current champions PSG play host to third-placed Monaco at Parc des Princes. You can find the latest odds for the game here:

  • PSG (-227)
  • Draw (+380)
  • Monaco (+460)

It took a little while for Luis Enrique to get going with PSG. However, Les Parisiens have been on fire of late and have won their last five consecutive league outings. They have also scored exactly three goals in each of those last five and have picked up back-to-back 3-0 triumphs over Montpellier and Reims.

In spite of a strong start to the campaign by Monaco that saw them go their opening five games unbeaten, they enter this one with just one win in three. Adi Hutter’s side have been pretty poor on their travels, too, and have picked up just one victory in five. That also saw them draw 0-0 with Le Havre in their last match.

The expectation is that PSG will win this match, especially since they have the advantage of playing at home. However, the money line odds are too short for them to win so I have found an alternative selection.

Alternative Euro Soccer Top League Picks

I’m feeling extremely confident with my Ligue 1 Matchday 13 picks. Having found three suitable matchups, the research and data should hopefully ring true.

However, as always, I will be providing you with more Euro soccer picks from other top European leagues. I’m not too keen on either of the Bundesliga or Serie A fixtures this week so they won’t be featuring in my alternative picks.

Despite not winning any of my La Liga picks last time, I have found two matchups that I like. Overs have landed quite regularly in Spain this term and 66.67% of games during Matchday 13 had over 2.5 goals. Take a look at my alternative Euro soccer picks here.

La Liga Matchday 14 Picks – Atletico Madrid vs Mallorca Prediction

Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid welcome a Mallorca team that is on the precipice of the bottom three to Metropolitano Stadium on Saturday. Here are the most recent odds for the match:

  • Atletico Madrid (-270)
  • Draw (+350)
  • Mallorca (+700)

It’s no surprise that Atletico are significant favorites to win this affair. They have the joint-best home record in La Liga this season and have won all six of their matches on their own soil. They got back to winning ways in their last game as they defeated Villarreal 3-1 in the capital.

Conversely, Javier Aguirre’s Mallorca have underperformed and sit just two points ahead of Celta Vigo down near the drop zone. They are without a single victory over their last seven league games and suffered a 2-0 defeat away to Real Betis last time out.

I’m not a huge fan of the money line odds for this encounter. Therefore, I suggest considering the goals market for this pick.

La Liga Matchday 14 Picks – Alaves vs Granada Prediction

Two teams that aren’t performing well go head-to-head in La Liga this week when Alaves square off against Granada at Estadio Mendizorrotza. Check out the current money line odds for my final selection of the week below:

  • Alaves (-132)
  • Draw (+254)
  • Granada (+338)

Although Alaves took an early lead away to champions Barcelona last time out, they failed to get anything from the match as the home side ran out 2-1 winners. That leaves them with just one win from their last nine games.

Visitors Granada are struggling even more this term and occupy 19th place in the table. They have picked up just seven points from 13 matches and made it ten successive league matches without a victory when they shared the points in a 1-1 draw at home to Getafe in their most recent match.

Neither team is in good form heading into the clash so it is hard to trust a match result to back. However, the statistics are indicating a better value selection.
