Adelaide International predictions are on the SportsHub tennis menu this week. The semifinals for both the men’s and women’s singles are here, meaning we’ve reached the business end of the tournament.

Only one of the top six men’s seeds made it past the quarterfinals, opening the door for an unlikely champion. As for the women’s seeds, only two of the top six remain in the competition following Elena Rybakina’s shock quarterfinal exit.

Stick around for my 2024 Adelaide International predictions and picks. Before we go any further, let’s check out the bookies’ latest outright odds ahead of the semifinals.

2024 Adelaide International Odds Update

Following a series of surprising results and unexpected exits, the outright odds for both the men’s and women’s singles events have shifted ahead of the semifinals. Accordingly, you may need to adjust your Adelaide International predictions.

ADELAIDE INTERNATIONAL MEN’S SINGLES OUTRIGHT ODDS

  • Jack Draper (+160)
  • Sebastian Korda (+163)
  • Jiri Lehecka (+400)
  • Alexander Bublik (+450)

After dispatching number-one seed Tommy Paul in the quarterfinals, unseeded Brit Jack Draper is now the marginal favorite to win the men’s singles tournament. That said, Sebastian Korda is hot on Draper’s heels.

As you can see, Jiri Lehecka and Alexander Bublik are priced at +400 and +450, respectively. Although they are the underdogs in the semifinals, Lehecka and Bublik both have what it takes to reach the final and go all the way.

Adelaide International Predictions
Australian players receive challenging matchups in the 2024 Adelaide International.

ADELAIDE INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S SINGLES OUTRIGHT ODDS

  • Jessica Pegula (-120)
  • Jelena Ostapenko (+275)
  • Daria Kasatkina (+500)
  • Ekaterina Alexandrova (+500)

Number-two seed Jessica Pegula is now the clear favorite to win the women’s singles tournament following Elena Rybakina’s defeat in the previous round. Rybakina was beaten by Ekaterina Alexandrova, who remains the joint outsider with Daria Kasatkina.

At +275, Jelena Ostapenko bridges the gap between the favorite and the outsiders. The number-six seed enjoyed an impressive 2023, so she will be eager to build on last year’s success.

Adelaide International Predictions for the Semifinals

Are you ready for my Adelaide International predictions? With all four singles semifinals scheduled to take place on Friday, January 11, you don’t have long to lock in your picks.

Korda faces Lehecka in the first of the men’s semifinals before Draper takes on Bublik. In the women’s event, Alexandrova comes up against Ostapenko before Kasatkina faces a tricky test against Pegula.

You will be pleased to learn that my Adelaide International predictions cover all four semifinal showdowns. Without further ado, it’s time to take an in-depth look at each matchup.

Sebastian Korda vs. Jiri Lehecka Predictions

Odds: Sebastian Korda (-182) / Jiri Lehecka (+140)

Following a four-match losing streak, Korda appears to have found his feet again. The 23-year-old American made light work of Lorenzo Sonego and Christopher O’Connell to punch his ticket to the semifinals.

Meanwhile, Lehecka survived a scare against unseeded Serb Dusan Lajovic in the second round before dispatching number-two seed Nicolas Jarry in the previous round.

Korda is the bookies’ favorite to win this match, and I agree with the oddsmakers’ forecast. Let’s not forget that Korda reached the quarterfinals of the Australian Open and the semifinals of the Shanghai Masters last year.

Best Bet: Sebastian Korda (-182)

Jack Draper vs. Alexander Bublik Predictions

Odds: Jack Draper (-225) / Alexander Bublik (+175)

It’s safe to say that Draper is the surprise package of this year’s Adelaide International. The 22-year-old Englishman was not among the pre-tournament seeds but has cruised into the semifinals thanks to some impressive displays.

In the quarterfinals, Draper defeated Tommy Paul 6-1, 6-4 to book his place in the last four. Consequently, he is now the favorite to win the men’s singles event.

As for Bublik, he required three sets to get past both Dan Evans and Lorenzo Musetti in recent matches. The 26-year-old will likely be more fatigued than Draper, but he also has far more experience in the bank.

Ekaterina Alexandrova vs. Jelena Ostapenko Predictions

Odds: Ekaterina Alexandrova (+120) / Jelena Ostapenko (-154)

Alexandrova defied the odds to defeat Elena Rybakina 6-3, 6-3 in the quarterfinals. The unseeded Russian produced a hugely impressive performance to eliminate the number-one seed, filling her with confidence ahead of the semifinals.

That said, Ostapenko is the number-six seed for a reason. The 26-year-old reached two major quarterfinals last year, enjoying success at both the Australian Open and the US Open.

It is also worth remembering that Ostapenko is a French Open champion, having triumphed at Roland-Garros back in 2017. Although Alexandrova will be brimming with belief, she will find it difficult to outperform Ostapenko.

Daria Kasatkina vs. Jessica Pegula Predictions

Odds: Daria Kasatkina (+250) / Jessica Pegula (-334)

The last of my Adelaide International predictions concerns the showdown between Kasatkina and Pegula. As the moneyline odds suggest, Pegula should punch her ticket to the final, but it doesn’t always work like that.

In 2022, Kasatkina reached the semifinals of the French Open, proving that she can run deep in major tournaments. Granted, she experienced a tricky 2023, but she has the potential to upset the odds.

Still, there is no hiding the fact that Pegula is one of the most exciting players in women’s tennis right now. The 29-year-old American has featured in no fewer than six major quarterfinals since 2021, underlining her ability.
