We’re going to hunt down the best UFC 305 predictions for Saturday. There are only 12 fights on the card this weekend. UFC 305 will be hosted at the RAC Arena in Perth, Australia.
The fights are still on Saturday night in the United States and Canada. The action will get underway with the early prelims at 6:30 PM ET and the pay-per-view (PPV) main card begins at 10:00 PM ET.
Dricus Du Plessis will aim to defend the middleweight title against Israel Adesanya in the main event.
UFC 305 Preview
When: Saturday, August 17th 2024
Where: RAC Arena in Perth, Australia
Start Time: 6:30 PM ET (Early Prelims) / 8:00 PM ET (Prelims) / 10:00 PM ET (Main Card)
Watch: UFC Fight Pass / ESPN / ESPN+ / Pay-Per-View
Adesanya has never lost consecutive fights in his career, will that change? Du Plessis is undefeated in the UFC (7-0) and he has finished five of his UFC opponents. Both guys have gone the distance in a five-round fight, but Du Plessis only has once, while Adesanya has done it eight times.
Excluding the main event, there are seven ranked fighters on the card, including Kai Kara-France, Steve Erceg, Mateusz Gamrot, Dan Hooker, Tai Tuivasa, Jairzinho Rozenstruik and Casey O’Neill.
France vs. Erceg isn’t the most exciting co-main event, but it’s what we’re getting. Gamrot is 7-1 in the UFC since 2021, including three consecutive wins and he’ll fight Hooker on the main card.

There’s an intriguing heavyweight fight on the main card between Tuivasa and Rozenstruik. Tuivasa will have the home crowd edge and I’m expecting a quick finish when these two meet in the octagon.
Five of the fights on the prelims feature an Australian fighter. Junior Tafa is in action. Casey O’Neill is also on the prelims and she’s fighting Luana Santos. Casual UFC fans won’t love this fight card, as it’s weak for a PPV event, but we’re all about making money here and that’s what we plan on doing on Saturday.
Let’s jump into my UFC 305 predictions for this weekend:
Dricus Du Plessis vs. Israel Adesanya Predictions
- Du Plessis (-115) vs. Adesanya (-115)
Du Plessis (21-2) hasn’t lost a fight since 2018. He has won nine consecutive fights. Adesanya (24-3) is coming off a decision loss against Sean Strickland and has lost two of his last three fights.
Du Plessis averages 6.49 SLpM, 4.77 SApM and 3.00 takedowns (TDs) per 15 minutes. He’s an active striker, but also absorbs a lot of shots while looking to land shots. Adesanya averages 3.93 SLpM and 3.11 SApM. He often looks to generate offense from counterstrikes and he has a lot of power.
Adesanya has landed 13 takedowns, which is tied for first all-time in the UFC at middleweight. The main event is a toss-up for a reason. Sign-up to Sports Hub to access my UFC 305 predictions for this fight.

Kai Kara-France vs. Steve Erceg Predictions
- Fight Odds: Kara-France (+125) vs. Erceg (-155)
Kara-France (24-11-0-1) has lost his last two fights against Brandon Moreno and Amir Albazi. He’s going to look to bounce back against Erceg (12-2) who is coming off a loss against Alexandre Pantoja.
Erceg mixes his offense up well. He averages 4.52 SLpM and 1.24 TDs per 15 minutes. He’ll want to use his grappling in this fight. Kara-France is a kickboxer who averages 4.57 SLpM and 3.24 SApM. He’ll aim to initiate exchanges and set-up lethal combinations, but Erceg is a tough match-up.

Mateusz Gamrot vs. Dan Hooker Predictions
- Fight Odds: Gamrot (-350) vs. Hooker (+260)
Gamrot (24-2-0-1) is a huge favorite against Hooker (23-12). Hooker is on a 2-0 run and he defeated Jalin Turner last July by split decision. After losing his UFC debut, Gamrot is on a 7-1 run, which includes three consecutive wins. Gamrot is a wrestler and he’s averaging 5.28 TDs per 15 minutes in the cage.
Hooker averages 5.08 SLpM and 4.76 SApM. He also has 80% takedown defense (TDD). Gamrot is very relentless when it comes to landing TDs, though. Gamrot has been a decision machine lately, with four of his last five fights going the distance. To get better odds, I’m betting on Gamrot to win by decision.
Best Bet: Gamrot by Decision
Tai Tuivasa vs. Jairzinho Rozenstruik Predictions
- Fight Odds: Tuivasa (+180) vs. Rozenstruik (-220)
Tuivasa (14-7) has lost his last four fights and all were by stoppage. Rozenstruik (14-5) has knocked out two of his last three opponents, but he’s on a 4-5 run in the UFC since 2000. These two heavyweights don’t attempt takedowns. This will be a battle fought on the feet and both guys have knockout power.
Both fighters have won 13 fights by TKO/KO. This fight will likely end by TKO/KO. Tuivasa is averaging 3.96 SLpM and 5.05 SApM, while Rozenstruik averages 3.44 SLpM and 2.78 SApM. Rozenstruik will have a 3” reach advantage. There’s a good chance this fight ends in the opening round.

Li Jingliang vs. Carlos Prates Predictions
- Fight Odds: Jingliang (+270) vs. Prates (-360)
Jingliang (19-8) has been fighting in the UFC for over a decade, but he’s aging (36). Prates (19-6) is 2-0 in the UFC and he has won both of his fights by KO. Prates will have a massive 7” reach advantage.
Prates averages 4.09 SLpM and 5.23 SapM. Considering his reach, he eats a lot of shots. Jingliang is just 2-3 in the UFC since 2020, but he’s tough to finish and has never been knocked out. Jingliang averages 4.46 SLpM and 3.84 SApM. His last four wins have all come by TKO/KO.
This should be a striking battle and both are capable of finishing with strikes.

Junior Tafa vs. Valter Walker Predictions
- Fight Odds: Tafa (-130) vs. Walker (+105)
Tafa (5-2) has lost two of his last three fights. Walker (11-1) lost his UFC debut against Lukasz Brzeski by decision. Walker has six TKO/KO wins and Tafa was just knocked out by Marcos Rogerio de Lima.
Walker landed four TDs in his debut, but he lost the striking battle (58 vs. 33). Tafa has 81% TDD, but that will be tested in this fight. Tafa averages 1.81 SLpM and 1.86 SApM. Tafa has won all five of his fights by TKO/KO, so he has a good shot at finishing. I like the underdog in this fight, though.
I’m betting on Walker to win and also putting some money on him to win by TKO/KO.
Best Bet: Walker ML and Walker by TKO/KO
Josh Culibao vs. Ricardo Ramos Predictions
- Fight Odds: Culibao (-140) vs. Ramos (+110)
Culibao (11-3-1) has lost his last two fights by decision against Lerone Murphy and Danny Silva. Prior to his losing streak, Culibao had won three fights in a row. Ramos (16-6) is 2-4 since 2020. Ramos has been tapped out in his last two fights, but Culibao only has one submission win in his career.
Ramos averages 3.21 SLpM, 3.74 SApM and 3.02 TDs per 15 minutes. Culibao only has 67% TDD and that’s going to pose some problems. Culibao averages 3.20 SLpM and 3.24 SApM. Both fighters have a path to victory. Find out who will win by checking out my UFC 305 predictions on my profile (SWJ Sports).

Casey O’Neill vs. Luana Santos Predictions
- Fight Odds: O’Neill (+110) vs. Santos (-140)
O’Neill (9-2) started her UFC career going 4-0, but she has lost her last two fights. She suffered an ACL injury and hasn’t looked the same since. Santos (8-1) is 3-0 in the UFC and has finished two of those.
Santos averages 5.33 SLpM, 3.21 SApM and 2.03 TDs per 15 minutes. O’Neill averages 8.41 SLpM, 6.30 SApM and 1.77 TDs per 15 minutes. She’s an active striker, but eats a lot of damage as well. O’Neill lost her last fight by submission against Ariane Lipski and Santos has won four fights by submission.
This has the potential to be one of the most exciting fights on the card.

Jack Jenkins vs. Herbert Burns Predictions
- Jenkins (-805) vs. Burns (+505)
Jenkins (12-3) lost his last fight against Jose Mariscal by TKO. Burns (11-5) has been knocked out in his last three fights. All three fights ended in the second round. Burns hasn’t won a fight since 2000 and he’s 36 years old now. Burns averages 1.73 SLpM, 4.60 SApM and 3.00 TDs per 15 minutes.
Burns has never been a good striker and he only has one win by TKO/KO in his career. Jenkins has five TKO/KO wins, but he hasn’t knocked out an opponent since 2022 on the DWCS. Burns is unlikely to get tapped out and Jenkins needs a finish, so I’ll be backing the big favorite to win by TKO/KO.
Best Bet: Jenkins by TKO/KO
That covers the main card and the first four prelims fights on the card. There are also three early prelims fights. Access UFC 305 predictions for those fights by signing into your Sports Hub account.
