Big Games Every Week at This Stage of the Season

Now that we’re so deep into the 2023 college football season, there are big games every week. This week, we get the final edition of Bedlam, the Oklahoma-Oklahoma State rivalry that has been played 117 times. Oklahoma State has just one win in the last eight seasons. The rivalry will likely come to an end when Oklahoma moves to the SEC next year. It’s not the only rivalry game in Week 10.

Our handicappers will be making their Week 10 NCAA football picks on some high-quality games like the Washington-USC battle in the Pac-12. That will be one of the games that helps determine who will play for the conference title. LSU-Alabama is a huge SEC game that will probably determine the SEC West champion. Notre Dame plays Clemson in a game that will have some playoff and bowl implications.

Week 10 NCAA Football Picks Include Rivalry Games

LSU or Alabama? Oklahoma or Oklahoma State? These are two huge rivalries that will be played in Week 10 this season. Oklahoma State is not enjoying a great season, but you can throw the records out the window when these two teams play. Oklahoma dominates the series, but the Cowboys have snuck a few wins over the last decade. Can they do it again?

LSU travels to Alabama this year in a rivalry that dates back to 1895. Interestingly, the home team has not done all that well as of late. Since 1981, Alabama is just 7-12 against the Tigers at home. Last year’s game went to overtime with then No. 10 LSU claiming a 32-31 win over then No. 6 Alabama. Will we be treated to more of the same this season? How will our expert cappers see this game among all of their Week 10 NCAA football picks?

Best Pick ATS

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish visit the Clemson Tigers on Saturday, and this will be an interesting matchup. Clemson has really fallen on tough times this season, but this will be a game in which they can turn their season back around.

Notre Dame is getting close to being back in the Top 10, and this will be a game in which they want to deliver. Look for the running game of the Fighting Irish to be the difference in this one as they go on the road and pick up a big win.

Notre Dame Fighting Irish -2.5

Best Moneyline Pick

Caleb Williams and the USC Trojans will host Michael Penix Jr. and the Washington Huskies this weekend. The Pac-12 title race is still wide open, and that will give USC a chance to get back in the race despite having a loss.

There will be a ton of points scored in this game, and ultimately it will come down to which quarterback makes the most plays. Even though Penix is having a good season, going with Williams and USC is the best play to make in this matchup as they pull off the upset.

USC Trojans +145

Best Total Pick

It has been another strange year in the Big 12 Conference football race as no team has been able to take charge. The Kansas Jayhawks visit the Iowa State Cyclones on Saturday and there is a lot riding on this game.

Kansas just stunned Oklahoma on Saturday, but they are now going to face a huge challenge on the road in this game. The Jayhawks like to win games by scoring points, but they are going to struggle on Saturday, and this game will be tight thanks to the Iowa State defense.

Kansas Jayhawks vs. Iowa State Cyclones Under 54.0

Best Player Prop

Penn State and Maryland will meet on Saturday for a big game in the Big Ten East Division, and the visitors are 10.5-point betting favorites. That line is a bit hard to decipher as the Terrapins have shown the ability to play well this season.

Penn State is going to need their young quarterback, Drew Allar, to play well in this game, and he should deliver. Maryland has given up some big plays all season long, and Allar will find some open receivers in this matchup.

Drew Allar Over 2.5 Touchdown Passes

Best Team Prop

It has been a strange year for the Colorado Buffaloes football team as they just can’t seem to find any consistency. Colorado is now just 4-4 on the year and they are hosting a very good Oregon State team on Saturday.

This Buffaloes team has been giving up way too many points this season, but they are also a team that can put points on the board in a hurry. Bet on Colorado to have some offensive success on Saturday as they score at least four touchdowns.

Colorado Buffaloes Over 3.5 Touchdowns Scored

LSU Tigers vs. Alabama Crimson Tide

You don’t always have to look for the best games when making Week 10 NCAA football picks, but it definitely adds to the intrigue. The LSU Tigers visit the Alabama Crimson Tide on Saturday and this is a massive game in the SEC West Division.

LSU has been playing some great football since stumbling early in the year, and Alabama has just been as steady as always. This should be a game that comes down to the wire, but it will be Alabama that gets the big win at home.

Alabama Crimson Tide -3.0

Purdue Boilermakers vs. Michigan Wolverines

Michigan just continues to blow teams out this season, and they haven’t let cheating allegations slow them down. The Wolverines are set to host the Purdue Boilermakers on Saturday, and this will be an interesting matchups.

There is very little chance that Purdue is able to make this a game, but they are also getting 32.5 points on the spread. The Boilermakers have shown the ability to put some points on the board this season, and you can’t pass up the opportunity to get that many points.

Purdue Boilermakers +32.5

Missouri Tigers vs. Georgia Bulldogs

The top two teams in the SEC East Division meet up this weekend and it’s a game in which you will want to make some Week 10 NCAA football picks. Missouri is a 16-point underdog at Georgia, but the Tigers have been playing some incredible football this season.

The over/under for this game is set at 56 points, and that speaks to just how good Missouri has been on the offensive side of the football. Don’t be fooled by that number though as Georgia is going to try to shut down the Tigers in this game.

Missouri Tigers/Georgia Bulldogs Under 56.0

Kansas State Wildcats vs. Texas Longhorns

The Texas Longhorns are now back in the Big 12 Conference title race with an Oklahoma loss, and they host Kansas State on Saturday. Kansas State is flying under the radar again this season, but they are still looking for a signature win.

This should be a game in which both teams are able to put points on the board, but the location of this game is going to matter. Even though Texas is a bit banged up, they are going to find a way to get the job done and win to cover the spread.

Texas Longhorns -4.0

Army Black Knights vs. Air Force Falcons

The Air Force Falcons host the Army Black Knights in a big matchup this weekend, and the home team is a massive favorite in this game. Air Force has actually mixed in some passing yards this season, but they are once again a team that loves to run the football.

Army will be trying to get the job done on the ground as well, and that is going to create a game in which neither team does much on offense. The over/under is set at just 33.5 points for this game, but you have to think at least Air Force will do some scoring.

Army Black Knights/Air Force Falcons Over 33.5

Week 10 NCAA Football Picks FAQs

Should I play the Over when two high-scoring teams are playing?

Generally, public bettors will back the Over when two high-scoring teams play each other. For example, USC and Washington will face each other in their final season in the Pac-12. Both teams average nearly 40 points per game. Let’s say that both teams have scored 30-plus points in their previous three games. The trend actually supports backing the Under in this case. In a sample of a few hundred such games over the past several seasons, the Under actually hits 57 percent of the time.

What is the College Football Playoff?

The College Football Playoff (CFP) is the annual postseason tournament that decides the NCAA Football Subdivision (FBS) national champion. A selection committee begins ranking teams for the CFP late in the season. Once the regular season – including conference championship games – ends, the committee picks and seeds the teams that compete for the national championship.

What are the new clock rules for the 2023 season?

The game clock will continue to run after a team makes a first down except the final two minutes of the first half and the final two minutes of a game. In the past, the clock stopped when teams made a first down, and the clock started again once the chains were moved and the referee gave his signal to run the clock. Also, teams will not be permitted to call consecutive timeouts as they had in the past, and any untimed downs will only be played in the second and fourth quarters.
