A night filled with standout scoring performances, shutdown goaltending and momentum-shifting bursts defined Monday’s NHL action. Utah delivered the league’s first four-goal outing of the season, Tampa Bay blanked Philadelphia behind an elite performance from Andrei Vasilevskiy, and Florida erupted for eight in a dominant showing. Here’s the complete recap from a packed slate.

Mammoth 5, Golden Knights 1

Logan Cooley produced a historic night with four goals and an assist — the first four-goal outing in Mammoth history and the first in the NHL this season — powering Utah to a decisive win over Vegas. Cooley scored in a variety of ways, showcasing elite finishing and control as Utah earned its second straight victory.

Dylan Guenther added a goal and an assist, Nate Schmidt contributed two helpers, and Karel Vejmelka anchored the effort with 33 saves. Ivan Barbashev scored the lone goal for the Golden Knights, while Carl Lindbom stopped 19 of 22 shots in the loss. Vegas saw its six-game point streak end and dropped just its second road regulation game of the season.

Devils 4, Red Wings 3

New Jersey remained unbeaten in regulation at home, improving to 8-0-1 at Prudential Center with a tight win over Detroit. Jacob Markstrom delivered 32 saves, holding off a late Red Wings push. Connor Brown, Timo Meier and Nico Hischier each tallied a goal and an assist, while Cody Glass scored the other Devils goal.

Alex DeBrincat, Dylan Larkin and James van Riemsdyk found the net for Detroit. Moritz Seider had two assists, and Cam Talbot stopped 15 of 19 shots. Detroit has dropped two of three.

Lightning 3, Flyers 0

Andrei Vasilevskiy recorded his first shutout of the season with a confident 20-save outing as Tampa Bay blanked Philadelphia. Brandon Hagel scored twice and added an assist, while Nikita Kucherov returned from injury to post three assists in a strong playmaking performance. Anthony Cirelli added a goal and an assist as Tampa Bay improved to 12-3-0 over its last 15 games.

Samuel Ersson made 15 saves for Philadelphia, which was shut out for the first time this year after entering with a two-game win streak.

Capitals 5, Blue Jackets 1

Jakob Chychrun scored twice and both Tom Wilson and John Carlson tallied a goal and an assist as Washington controlled the game to earn its fourth win in five outings. Justin Sourdif added two assists and Logan Thompson stopped 22 of 23 shots in a calm, efficient performance in net.

Denton Mateychuk opened the scoring early for Columbus, but the Blue Jackets generated little push afterward. Elvis Merzlikins made 26 saves in the loss.

Rangers 3, Blues 2

New York snapped its four-game losing streak behind strong playmaking from Vladislav Gavrikov, who assisted on two goals. Vincent Trocheck, Alexis Lafreniere and Adam Edstrom scored for the Rangers, who picked up only their second home win in 10 tries. Adam Fox added two secondary assists and Igor Shesterkin made 19 saves.

St. Louis got goals from Dylan Holloway and Brayden Schenn. Joel Hofer stopped 17 shots as the Blues continued a stretch of just one win in their last six games.

Panthers 8, Predators 3

Florida exploded offensively, led by A.J. Greer’s two goals and assist in a convincing road win over Nashville. Sam Reinhart and Carter Verhaeghe each recorded a goal and two assists, Evan Rodrigues added a goal and assist, and Jesper Boqvist, Sam Bennett and Gustav Forsling also scored.

Daniil Tarasov delivered a strong 36-save performance to back Florida’s surge. Nashville received goals from Filip Forsberg, Fedor Svechkov and Nick Blankenburg but saw its skid deepen, dropping its eighth game in the past nine. Juuse Saros allowed three goals on 14 shots before being replaced by Justus Annunen.

Kings 2, Senators 1

Brandt Clarke delivered the game-winner on a power play with 6:10 remaining, giving Los Angeles a much-needed home victory. Warren Foegele also scored, while Joel Edmundson assisted on both Kings goals. Darcy Kuemper made 27 saves in a composed outing.

Fabian Zetterlund scored for Ottawa, and Leevi Merilainen made 20 saves. The Senators fell to 2-1-0 on their seven-game road trip.
