If you’re looking for some US Open semifinals predictions, you have certainly come to the right place. Below, I share betting advice and picks for the standout matches in both the men’s and women’s singles events.

Unsurprisingly, Novak Djokovic has already punched his ticket to the semifinals. The 23-time Grand Slam winner will take on American youngster Ben Shelton, while another American youngster – Coco Cauff – will face Karolina Muchova.

I will share my US Open semifinals predictions a little later. Before we dive into my insight and picks, let’s recap the tournament so far and check out the latest US Open odds.

2023 US Open Recap – What’s Happened So Far?

No fewer than nine seeded players were eliminated in the first round of the men’s singles event, including Holger Rune (#4). The second round saw Casper Ruud (#5) and Stefanos Tsitsipas (#7) fall short, while Taylor Fritz (#9) and Frances Tiafoe (#10) were knocked out in the quarterfinals.

The women’s singles event also produced drama right from the very beginning, with Caroline Garcia (#7) and Maria Sakkari (#8) falling in the first round. However, the biggest shock was undoubtedly the fourth-round exit of Iga Swiatek (#1), who triumphed at the US Open last year.

Elsewhere, the men’s and women’s doubles events have reached the semifinals. The mixed doubles event serves up an all-American showdown in the semifinals with Jessica Pegula and Austin Krajicek taking on Taylor Townsend and Ben Shelton.

Read on to discover my 2023 US Open semifinals predictions.

Odds and Schedule for the US Open Semifinals

It’s almost time for me to share my US Open semifinals predictions and picks. Before we go any further, though, we need to evaluate the odds. In this section, I cover both the match odds and outright odds for the men’s and women’s singles events.

MEN’S SINGLES SEMIFINALS SCHEDULE AND OUTRIGHT ODDS

The first men’s singles semifinal is scheduled for Thursday, September 7, with Shelton taking on Djokovic. Once the remaining two quarterfinals are settled today, we will know the full schedule for the semifinals.

  • Ben Shelton (+1100) vs. Novak Djokovic (-3300)
  • Carlos Alcaraz or Alexander Zverev vs. Daniil Medvedev or Andrey Rublev

As you can see, Djokovic is heavily favored to reach the final. It is worth noting that Carlos Alcaraz is priced at -450 to beat Alexander Zverev (+325), while Daniil Medvedev is priced at -250 to defeat Andrey Rublev (+190).

Here are the latest outright odds for the US Open men’s singles event.

  • Novak Djokovic (-150)
  • Carlos Alcaraz (+175)
  • Daniil Medvedev (+1100)
  • Ben Shelton (+3000)
  • Alexander Zverev (+3500)
  • Andrey Rublev (+5900)

Having already booked his place in the semifinals, Djokovic is the obvious favorite to secure the silverware this weekend. As the bookies’ odds suggest, Alcaraz is seen as Djokovic’s only real threat.

WOMEN’S SINGLES SEMIFINALS SCHEDULE AND OUTRIGHT ODDS

The opening women’s singles semifinal will also take place on Thursday, with Coco Gauff facing Karolina Muchova. Like the men’s event, we will know the full women’s singles semifinals schedule by the end of play today.

  • Coco Gauff (-182) vs. Karolina Muchova (+140)
  • Marketa Vondrousova or Madison Keys vs. Zheng Qinwen or Aryna Sabalenka

Gauff is the bookies’ favorite to win the first semifinal, leaving Muchova as the underdog. As for the remaining quarterfinals, Aryna Sabalenka is priced at -400 to beat Zheng Qinwen (+300), while Madison Keys (-138) is favored to see off Marketa Vondrousova (+110).

Here are the updated outright odds for the US Open women’s singles event.

  • Coco Gauff (+150)
  • Aryna Sabalenka (+175)
  • Karolina Muchova (+475)
  • Madison Keys (+900)
  • Market Vondrousova (+1000)
  • Zheng Qinwen (+1600)

With the top three favorites priced between +150 and +475, the women’s singles event is tougher to call than the men’s. As things stand, Gauff leads Sabalenka by a small margin, but these prices will change later today.

Anyway, let’s get stuck into my US Open semifinals predictions!

2023 US Open Semifinals Predictions

As I already mentioned, the semifinals get underway on Thursday, September 7. Gauff and Muchova will face off in the first women’s singles semifinal, while Shelton will attempt to overcome Djokovic in the first men’s singles semifinal.

At 20, Shelton is the youngest American to reach the US Open semifinals since 1992. By contrast, Djokovic is competing in a record 47th major semifinal. As for the women, Gauff is featuring in her second major semifinal, while Muchova is competing in her third.

You will be pleased to learn that it’s now time for me to share my US Open semifinals predictions and picks. Without further ado, let’s get this show on the road.

Coco Gauff vs. Karolina Muchova Prediction

At just 19 years young, Gauff is now only two victories away from winning the US Open. The Florida native has taken her home tournament by storm, knocking out two seeded players along the way.

The teenager even managed to thrash Jelena Ostapenko 6-0, 6-2 in the quarterfinals, sending out a big message to her rivals. Having reached the US Open quarterfinals last year, Gauff knows what it takes to run deep in the tournament.

Muchova also made light work of her quarterfinal opponent, crushing Sorana Cirstea 6-0, 6-3. In fact, the Czech right-hander has only dropped one set all tournament, highlighting her threat.

That said, I’m backing Gauff to reach the women’s singles final. With the home crowd cheering her on, Gauff will be given an added lift in New York. Plus, she is arguably playing the best tennis of her career right now.

Best Bet: Coco Gauff (-182)

Ben Shelton vs. Novak Djokovic Prediction

If the odds for this matchup are anything to go by, Djokovic should destroy Shelton. While Djokovic is priced at -3300 to advance to the final, Shelton is priced at +1100. Even so, Shelton will back himself to make life difficult for the 23-time Grand Slam winner.

After defeating Thomas Paul in the fourth round, Shelton secured an impressive victory over Frances Tiafoe in the quarterfinals. Let’s not forget that the 20-year-old also reached the quarterfinals of the Australian Open earlier this year.

Still, the gulf in both quality and experience between Shelton and Djokovic is clear for all to see. With a whopping nine US Open final appearances already in thank bank, the 36-year-old master won’t let the occasion faze him.
