The English Premier League action continues this weekend, meaning it’s time to lock in your Matchweek 4 predictions.

Boasting a 100% record this season, Manchester City holds a two-point lead at the summit of the table. At the opposite end of the standings, Everton, Luton Town, Burnley, and Sheffield United have all failed to pick up a point in 2023-24.

Stick around to discover my Matchweek 4 predictions and picks. First, we need to assess the Matchweek 3 results and discuss the EPL odds for this weekend.

Matchweek 3 Premier League Results

We may only be three weeks into the 2023-24 Premier League season, but there have already been tons of memorable matches, great goals, and upsets. It’s fair to say that Matchweek 3 lived up to the hype.

  • Chelsea 3-0 Luton Town
  • Bournemouth 0-2 Tottenham Hotspur
  • Brentford 1-1 Crystal Palace
  • Arsenal 2-2 Fulham
  • Manchester United 3-2 Nottingham Forest
  • Everton 0-1 Wolverhampton Wanderers
  • Brighton & Hove Albion 1-3 West Ham United
  • Sheffield United 1-2 Manchester City
  • Burnley 1-3 Aston Villa
  • Newcastle United 1-2 Liverpool

Chelsea kicked off Matchweek 3 with a dominant 3-0 victory over Luton Town, meaning the Hatters have suffered back-to-back defeats following promotion.

Interestingly, Manchester United was the only other team to triumph on home soil last weekend, as Tottenham Hotspur, Wolverhampton Wanderers, West Ham United, Manchester City, Aston Villa and Liverpool all won on their travels.

Both teams scored in seven of the 10 clashes in Matchweek 3, while only Chelsea, Spurs, and Wolves kept a clean sheet. On top of that, Chelsea, Man Utd, West Ham, and Aston Villa all scored over 2.5 goals last time out.

Premier League Odds for Matchweek 4

Before we dive into my Matchweek 4 predictions, we need to analyze the odds for the upcoming fixtures. Of course, the bookies don’t always get it right, but the moneyline prices can point us in the right direction.

  • Luton Town (+350) vs. West Ham United (-134)
  • Sheffield United (+200) vs. Everton (+140)
  • Brentford (-138) vs. Bournemouth (+333)
  • Burnley (+260) vs. Tottenham Hotspur (-115)
  • Chelsea (-267) vs. Nottingham Forest (+700)
  • Manchester City (-600) vs. Fulham (+1400)
  • Brighton & Hove Albion (+150) vs. Newcastle United (+150)
  • Crystal Palace (-106) vs. Wolverhampton Wanderers (+300)
  • Liverpool (-150) vs. Aston Villa (+350)
  • Arsenal (-125) vs. Manchester United (+280)

It is worth noting that West Ham, Everton, and Tottenham are all favored to win on the road this weekend. On the flip side, Brentford, Chelsea, Man City, Crystal Palace, Liverpool, and Arsenal are all heavy home favorites.

As you can see, the bookies can’t seem to separate Brighton and Newcastle right now. The Seagulls have taken six points from a possible nine this season, but the Magpies will be hopeful of avoiding defeat on the south coast.

Premier League Matchweek 4 Predictions and Picks

With 10 clashes on the Matchweek 4 schedule, there is no shortage of Premier League betting opportunities on offer this weekend. However, not every game presents great value.

For that reason, I have decided to share my Matchweek 4 predictions and picks for three standout matchups. Luton vs. West Ham takes place on Friday, Brighton vs. Newcastle is on Saturday, and Arsenal vs. Man Utd completes the action on Sunday.

Are you ready for my Matchweek 4 predictions? Without further ado, let’s jump into my EPL betting advice for this weekend.

Luton Town vs. West Ham United Prediction

It would not be unfair to say that Luton Town has struggled to adapt to the demands of the Premier League. After enduring a 4-1 thrashing at the hands of Brighton on the opening weekend, the Hatters suffered a 3-0 defeat to Chelsea last time out.

By contrast, West Ham United has made a flying start to the season, taking seven points from a possible nine to remain unbeaten. Following a 1-1 draw with Bournemouth, David Moyes’ side secured successive 3-1 wins against Chelsea and Brighton.

It is also worth noting that only two teams have scored more goals than West Ham’s seven this season. Since Luton has already conceded seven goals in just two matches, I’m confident that the Hammers will extend their winning streak on Friday.

Best Bet: West Ham United (-125)

Brighton & Hove Albion vs. Newcastle United Prediction

Brighton could not have wished for a better start to the season, as the Seagulls soared to successive 4-1 victories over Luton and Wolves. However, they were brought back down to earth last weekend, suffering a 3-1 defeat to West Ham.

Meanwhile, Newcastle started the season with a thumping 5-1 thrashing of Aston Villa, but the good times didn’t last long. Following a 1-0 loss against Man City, the Magpies threw away a 1-0 lead to eventually lose 2-1 to Liverpool last time out.

Brighton and Newcastle have played a combined total of six matches this season, scoring 15 goals between them. With that in mind, I recommend exploring the goal markets when it comes to wagering on this clash.

Arsenal vs. Manchester United Prediction

Arsenal vs. Man Utd is always one of the standout fixtures on the EPL calendar. The old foes invariably serve up eventful encounters packed with goals and drama, so I expect Sunday’s showdown to be a tasty affair.

The two sides are separated by a solitary point in the table, with fifth-placed Arsenal leading eighth-place Man Utd. However, neither team has been overly convincing this season, although the Gunners remain unbeaten in 2023-24.

Arsenal is the -125 favorite here, while United is the +280 underdog. That said, it is difficult to predict the outcome of this clash, especially during the early stages of the campaign. That’s why I suggest steering clear of the money line.
