Gotham FC 3, Spirit 0 – Esther Gonzalez Powers Gotham
Esther Gonzalez scored twice in the first half and Sarah Schupansky added a quick opener as NJ/NY Gotham FC blanked the Washington Spirit 3-0. Gotham (3-2-2, 11 points) jumped ahead just three minutes in when Schupansky connected off a pass from Lilly Reale.
Gonzalez doubled the lead with a penalty kick conversion and added a header minutes later off a Schupansky assist. Goalkeeper Ann-Katrin Berger made three saves to secure the shutout as Gotham handed Washington (4-1-2, 12 points) its first loss of the season.

Courage 3, Current 2 – North Carolina Shocks Kansas City
Kaleigh Kurtz scored in the 90th minute and Ashley Sanchez buried the game-winner in stoppage time to lift North Carolina Courage to their first win of the season in stunning fashion over previously unbeaten Kansas City.
Ryan Williams also scored for the Courage (1-3-2, 5 points), who fought back from 1-0 and 2-1 deficits. Haley Hopkins and Bia Zaneratto found the net for Kansas City (5-1-0, 15 points).

Wave 3, Stars 0 – San Diego Cruises to Victory
Hanna Lundkvist scored in the first half and 17-year-old Kimmi Ascanio netted her first NWSL goal in stoppage time as San Diego defeated the Chicago Stars 3-0. Kailen Sheridan made four saves to secure the shutout.
The Wave (3-2-1, 10 points) controlled play for much of the match, helped by a second-half own goal from Chicago’s Sam Staab. The Stars (1-5-0, 3 points) continue to struggle, falling further behind in the standings.
