Stars 2, Avalanche 1 (OT) – Dallas Regains Home Ice Advantage

Tyler Seguin buried the winner 5:31 into overtime, lifting the Dallas Stars to a crucial Game 3 win over the Colorado Avalanche in Denver.

Jamie Benn also scored and Jake Oettinger made 27 saves as the Stars took a 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven Western Conference series. The Stars survived a massive Colorado push, including a four-minute Avalanche power play that stretched from late in regulation into overtime.

Valeri Nichushkin scored for Colorado, and Mackenzie Blackwood stopped 26 shots. The night marked the emotional return of Gabriel Landeskog, who played his first game since the 2022 Stanley Cup Final after multiple knee surgeries.

Capitals 3, Canadiens 1 – Washington Tightens Grip with Game 2 Win

Connor McMichael scored twice and Logan Thompson made 25 saves as the Washington Capitals claimed a 2-0 lead in their first-round Eastern Conference series against the Montreal Canadiens.

McMichael tied the game early in the second period before Dylan Strome scored the go-ahead goal just a minute later. Washington clamped down defensively after that, with Thompson making 14 saves in the third period alone.

Christian Dvorak scored Montreal’s lone goal and Sam Montembeault made 29 saves in a strong effort for the Canadiens.

Kings 6, Oilers 2 – Los Angeles Takes Command

Adrian Kempe recorded two goals and two assists and Anze Kopitar notched a goal and three assists to propel the Los Angeles Kings to a dominant 2-0 series lead over the Edmonton Oilers.

Andrei Kuzmenko, Brandt Clarke, and Quinton Byfield also scored for Los Angeles, who broke the game open with a relentless third period. Warren Foegele added two assists and Darcy Kuemper made 24 saves.

Leon Draisaitl and Viktor Arvidsson scored for the Oilers, but Stuart Skinner was pulled after allowing five goals on 28 shots. The series now shifts to Edmonton for Game 3.
