Milwaukee Brewers 4, Pittsburgh Pirates 2
Rookie Jacob Misiorowski continued his breakout with five shutout innings, striking out eight and allowing just four baserunners. Milwaukee’s offense erupted in the second, batting around behind Joey Ortiz’s RBI groundout, Eric Haase’s two-run double, Sal Frelick’s run-scoring fielder’s choice and Christian Yelich’s RBI single. Misiorowski (3-0) outpitched 2024 NL Rookie of the Year Paul Skenes, who yielded four runs over four frames. The Brewers secured their fifth win in six games.
San Diego Padres 1, Washington Nationals 0
Nick Pivetta scattered three singles and matched a season-high ten strikeouts over seven scoreless innings, leading San Diego to its 13th shutout of the season. Luis Arraez’s two-out RBI single in the second provided the lone run. Jonathan Estrada and Adrian Morejon combined for two perfect innings of relief before Robert Suárez notched his 22nd save. Nationals starter MacKenzie Gore (3-8) took the loss despite six strong frames.

Max Fried became baseball’s first 10-game winner, allowing just one unearned run over seven innings with seven strikeouts. The Bronx Bombers got on the board early when Trent Grisham homered, then added five more runs on RBI hits from Jasson Domínguez and a two-run double by Anthony Volpe. Brady Singer (7-6) was tagged for four runs in five innings, snapping Cincinnati’s three-game win streak.

Miami Marlins 8, San Francisco Giants 5 (10 innings)
Heriberto Hernández drove in four runs, including two on a go-ahead double in the 10th, to lift Miami in extras. Otto López contributed three hits and three RBIs, and Calvin Faucher (3-2) rebounded from a blown save to earn the win. Mike Yastrzemski homered for San Francisco, but Camilo Doval (3-2) couldn’t close it out in the 10th.

Lenyn Sosa went 3-for-4 with two homers and four RBIs, and Andrew Benintendi added a solo shot as Chicago avoided a sweep. Zac Gallen (5-9) took the loss, allowing five runs over 5⅓ innings. Sean Burke (4-7) struck out seven over five innings for the White Sox, who ended Arizona’s five-game winning streak.

Yusei Kikuchi struck out a season-high 12 over seven innings, surrendering two unearned runs, and Travis d’Arnaud went 3-for-4 with a homer and two RBIs. Jo Adell’s leadoff shot set the tone as the Angels completed the three-game sweep in Anaheim. Richard Fitts (0-1) allowed two runs in four innings for Boston, which dropped its fifth straight.

José Ramírez delivered his eighth career walk-off hit with a 10th-inning single, handing Mason Fluharty (3-2) the blown save. Rookie Nic Enright worked a perfect extra frame for his first major-league win. Max Scherzer, making his first Toronto start since March, struck out four over five innings but saw the Jays fall in extras.

Juan Soto slugged two homers, marking his 27th career multi-homer game—most ever before age 27—and Ronny Mauricio collected three hits.
